It would mean following and making friends and engaging with competitor brands in my business. Is that what you are saying? That way my products get visible to more potential customers through insta? Is that correct? Please help me understand this.

I’m so happy you think so and you’re very welcome! The tactics here are pretty universal so I don’t think I would be altering anything other than maybe trying to share more of your insights regarding engagement and crisis management. You want to do it in an organic, natural way without taking away from the original creator. For me, it’s always important to strategically answer that creators ask in their captions or naturally join conversations around the subjects that you can provide value around. Oh that’s so nice of you to say - thank you! Well, at this point it’s a complete mix 😅 I’m from Poland, learned English with mostly American pronunciation, then studied English specializing in British English and I’ve been living in Scotland for 7 years now so… pretty hard to say what my accent really is at this point. Loads of transfer from different influences I suppose 😊

Hey Holly, thanks for the question 😊 I’m actually very much against them! Not only is it fake engagement that could potentially jeopardize your account, but it’s also garnering attention from the crowd that’s really not your target audience meaning the algorithm may then learn to recommend your posts to the wrong people. Sure, it can give you a boost initially, but I believe it does more harm than good in the long run. Hope it helps! ✨

So I tried this out, it did the quite opposite for my latest post, it’s like it lowered my engagement.

Giving more engagement is not going to lower your own (unless you’re doing it in a spammy way). It might have been this particular post, the time of day, there can be so many reasons for lower engagement.

I would only follow them if they post content that’s related to the fashion niche! You don’t have to only follow other stores. There are plenty more creators in this space so you could also engage with fashion influencers, educators etc. You could also broaden your scope and engage with adjacent niches like beauty or even skincare too.

In terms of engagement? Absolutely, I would treat them the same as any active engaging under a post. It's even easier sometimes to engage there, because you can just go to the Reels tab and see what resonates with you.

Is it ok to engage with people doing similar thing like i am?

Of course it is! Community over competition ❤️ Plus, there are people in their comments that are interested in the same thing and may resonate with what you have to say.
