I have an 85 wagon. Had the same headlight problem. I cleaned all the contacts in the fuse box and replaced all the fuses with new Mercedes-Benz fuses. Headlights work like a charm now!
I daily drive my 1982 300td… I love driving it but I only have street parking as an option and I’m always chasing down some little problem. The car always gets me where I’m going but it is always kind of an adventure. I had the opposite headlight problem and wiggling the wires next to the headlight fixed the problem… but then my glow plug light went out so I wiggled that wire and changed the fuses and now all of my lights work.
I am going for a 1987 300TD TURBO as a daily driver. Your video is very informative. I currently drive a G35 COUPE 6/MANUAL... slightly quicker vehicle.
Oh, my personalized license plate is "0-60 YES"
Oh wow! Rare color combo. So many silver ones came with the awful blue interior. LOVE this combo.

To each their own lol, mine has the beautiful tan cloth on leather interior but the paint is orange! Not everyone’s colour but I love it
Many diesel have the tahco signal coming from alternator. Jumping tahco could indicate loose belt or bad alternator.
Great video !
i still daily drive my 41 year old 240D. its funny how people record themselfs to see what the experience is like to drive one of these cars cause people just dont drive these cars.. yeah they turn necks but as someone who doesn't like poeple or talking to people and knows every inch of my car i loathe that people come up to me and ask me questions about it or try to give me their two cents on how to "tune" it, yet it doesnt take much to tune them.these cars are so great, despite the rust they get on them and the toxic information thats in the mercedes diesel community

As someone who daily drives an old TDI, better off leaving them stock imho. Not a fan of smoke and i drive slow anyways

I like the 240D with the OM616 and in Europe they had 220D and 200D with OM615 better than a 300D. It was simpler and more efficient
Check fuse box for windows #5 fuse
Please Sir take all that weight off of your keychain. That’s gonna ruin your key switch calibration and toggle. And you will have to replace it from the dealer because it must be calibrated correctly to your car by the vin number if you want to use the same set of factory keys. Please have your master and valet keys separate from the others.
I never "warm up" my cars just drive them "gently" saves time and fuel

Plus the thermal mass of the diesel block means it will never really reach operating temperature at idle

@@bobbbobb4663 its more to the nature that diesels are more efficient and make less waste heat
I'm trying to fit 2nd row headrests to my wagon. On yours, when you slip the headrests into the folded-up seat bottoms, what do they fit into?
Any updates on the 300TD wagen?
OM617. Best passenger car diesel ever made. camshaft in the head. America should take it apart and learn how to build a diesel motor from it.
Whats a fair value for a car like this kind want a wagon diesel, weather it’s the volvo or the Mercedes
