maybe you dont know this but gorillas like other herbivores ferment all that plant fiber in their guts into short chain fatty acids. That means that they absorb high amounts of saturated fats. Humans cant ferment plant fiber to that extent so we have to get our saturated fats from animal sources. Humans are not herbivores, we are obligate carnivores. Also our gut pH is around 1.5 similar to a vultures. Herbivores around pH 6-7

Humans cant ferment plant fiber to that extent so we have to get our saturated fats from animal sources. Humans are not herbivores, we are obligate carnivores. The bacteria in the gorillas guts die off and they absorb the protein. Gorillas are on a high saturated fat, medium protein diet. Just like humans should be.

Gorillas ferment all that plant fiber into short chain fatty acids, which means they actually absorb high amounts of saturated fats. Humans should also be on a high saturated fat diet just like gorillas, but we have to get ours from animal sources due to us not having the digestive system of a herbivore. Its the same for all herbivores by the way. They all ferment plant fibers into short chain fatty acids/

Coming here from Joel Fuhrman's book on nutritional studies. If gorillas can be this muscular on a purely plant-based diet, it shows that we do not need to eat large quantities of meat to meet our daily protein needs. Broccoli for example, is high in protein
