I've now installed a number of these types of cameras for the purpose of using AI and trip wire or intrusion. First if these are being used commercially on tall buildings you may need an external speaker. Second, for some reason they don't always work. I'm using fixed, zoom and ptz tioc units. The PTZ units are proving to be the best of the bunch.

Hi by not working do you mean the speaker? I did notice that on the older 2MP active deterrence too. I hooked up a strobe light to one, but the strobe had to be powered with a separate plug 24-7. Still works though from around 2019.

Hi Love this informative video , i just have a question i bought the 8MP version of this camera with deterrence tioc 2 , the problems iam having is there is alot of noise in the picture specially at night with the colour feature on and also doesnt adapt well to light changes at night, all that with terrible ghosting is there a setting to make it perform like an 8mp camera or fix these issues ?

Can you have it send notifications and record for motion during set times but then at nigh add in the alarm and lights?...can only seem to have one or the other

What are your thoughts on AI coding VS general coding with VBR for saving disk space?

Hi Chris, Great video. When using an NVR such as a 5216 should you still initialize the cameras and set them up this way or plug them directly into the NVR and set them through the NVR? I would also be really interested on a how to video of linking an NVR and IP intercom together so the NVR will record the VTO camera and the VTH can display the NVR sub stream of the cams.

With regards to the access platform on the camera, this would only be accessible remotely if the cameras were on the LAN side rather than the POE ports subnet, so is there any other way to talk to the cameras remotely?. I sometimes open the ports 10080 etc to allow internal porting to the cameras through the NVR using virtual host, but it seems very buggy.

Excellent instruction. Does this camera have to connect to an NVR? Could the mobile apps control or configure the settings?

Yes the device has front end AI. So a recorder is not needed if you wanted to go direct.

Hi. If you use DSS then a cameras event can trigger multiple TiOC's at the same time :-)

My preferred way to start up a new cam is to plug it directly into ethernet (poe of course) and enter the default ip address, once initialized then I plug it straight into the NVR and its good to go. Some cams give me an error message when I use config tool.

HELP NEEDED - PLEASE. I've got one TIOC 2.0 Camera connected to my Dahua NRV, but I believe I only have access to the NVR settings and NOT the actual settings for the TIOC camera it's self. When I go to the "ConfigTool", all I can see immediately is the NVR unit as being "initialized". I can't see how to add the actual camera to this list.

So if I hear you correctly for the alarm out leads there is a built in relay which will output 12v at 1 amp on an alarm event to drive an extra device like a sirene or a lamp?

Yes this is correct. Dahua relays have a 12V 1AMP electrical tolerance. You could use this effectively like a switch to control something low voltage.

hi. for this camera push notification is free or not?

I have the same camera. Do you need camera connected to nvr for IVS to work. I did everything you did and my warning light blue red will not activate. Is there other settings that have to be changed. I tried trip wire and intrusion. If you can step by step for me. I have to be missing something.

Also, I have an lpr camera and I thought it was supposed to register in the nvr with license plate clips? Is it much more involved than that

amazing job - what about storage? ( I may have missed this info) is an NVR required, is there a local storage slot (IE SD card) or are these devices on a subscription?

I need to see if you can give me some pointers. For the sub screen, I need to change the arrangement of the cameras which are on live view. How can I do this without having changes made to the main screen arrangement?

What is your opinion on resetting a camera after a firmware update? some say you need to default the camera, others say you need to factory default it, and some say you don't need to do anything because it reboots after a firmware update.

Technical Support states that a factory default should be performed on any device after a firmware upgrade to remove any old firmware files or bugs if any.

Yes this is possible. If you set the region in VMD then it will control where SMD activates.

Thanks for the video. I have a balcony with a lenght of 7meters and a width of 2meters about. I'm thinking to use a camera like this to trigger an alarm to my system. Yes, the camera can work standalone. However the installation parameter is a height of 3 meters of a good accuracy of the camera.

Which one is the video to set up the alarm in/out to the alarm panel on-site. Just bought 4 TiOC cameras for a job requiring that feature

Hi. I don't believe we have video on that such subject. However as long as you have the latest firmware under "Menu Menu""Alarm""Alarm In Port" you will see a disarming option that you can then connect to your alarm panel.

Thank you for this video. Could you please guide me on following points? 1) We have this camera installed for about 2 years and now we have changed our Wifi provider recently, I can't find anywhere on settings to change/connect the modem to the new Wifi. 2) On my phone, I have DMSS app installed and it works when I am at home ie connected with the same Wifi as the modem but not on mobile internet. Also, now we have new Wifi and my phone is connected to the new Wifi, I can't access cameras from my phone app! Many Thanks

might be easier to change the new wifi ssid and password to the previous wireless router and all devices will reconnect

Hi Chris, great video. I have a question related to the combination of the existing alarm system and Dahua NVR and TiOC 2.0 cameras. I plan to install 1) 2 TiOC 2.0 cameras 2) NVR5216-8P-4KS2 and I already have installed alarm system with central and motion sensors (Paradox). Do you think it is possible to realize following scenario 1) Paradox motion sensors detect a movement and send threat signal to the alarm central. 2) Paradox central send signal to NVR5216-8P-4KS2 (Alarm In port / NO) 3) as a consequence of above point, TiOC 2.0 cameras receive signal from the NVR which activates TiOC 2.0 camera's : a) siren b) continuous blinking of red/blue led In other words, I would like to use TiOC 2.0 cameras as a siren triggered by Paradox alarm (via Dahua NVR). Even worse, this 8MP is on the same sensor and CPU as a 2MP non TIOC camera so they had to limit bitrate and other parameters on the 3849 to try to make it functional, and the results are problems even during the day. So any type of AI will bring it to its knees. In my opinion the 3849 should not be sold with that current MP/sensor and CPU combination,

I just purchased a Dahua NVR 4.0 and Tioc cameras but the operating software doesn't look like yours and doesn't have all the functions. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone, fantastic summary. I own an IPC-HDW5241H-AS-PV (series 5 with Deterrence). It happens to me that I am not able to trigger siren and light when only VMD and SMD are active, the event is recorded, and the DMSS APP sends the notification of human presence, but does not trigger light/siren. It only runs from IVS rules, is this so? Is there any way to solve only using human detection. Thanks for your help.

Hi. You could do with a 32mm drill bit. It would be harder to replace/swap of make adjustments without a back box mind.

If on webpage of camera, click Setting top right. Event on the left. Then Disarming. Change to enable.

What is the ideal sensitivity settings to just detect humans and vehicles? L would you say 25-30? Also do you leave anti-dither on the default settings? Thanks in advance

Hi. I suggest defaulting those settings and allowing SMD to control the triggers. Adjusting the sensitivity and anti-dither response time could work against the algorithm.

Hi Just installed a dahua tioc 2 camera with the active d. I have set up ivms ect but the line crossing won’t pick up until i come close to the camera which is strange. Also i have noticed the image is not very sharp like the regular 6.0 megapixel next to it . The image seems to be grainy

P2P can be done by scanning the QR code from your NVR display screen or from a camera when you login and click on Platform Access you will see the QR code again. It only needs to be on line and then enter your user name and password :-)

Hi. Please use the browser Edge and ensure no pop up blockers are on. Other options are using a PoW switch and temporally bypassing the NVR for setup. You can also use a 12V DC power supply to power locally and then connect network cable straight into computer. Try the Edge first mind since we have no other reported cases for that issue. Thanks.

Hi. The answer is WEB :-) It will load a webpage allowing to configure the device.

My tioc 2 interface is different to yours and I can’t see conditions. And also my smart illumination only has a on auto mode and constantly illuminating day and night and annoying my neighbours. Why?

Hi. Yes that is possible. When using the DMSS APP with camera on, press the two arrows pointing down. Then select the light bulb. Then you will see another light bulb to activate the lights and a bell to activate the siren. Thanks :-)

Please sort some firmware out to allow notifications to be turned off when disarming these or NVRs!

While the 1-click disarming feature is good we are still working on a firmware to stop the push notifications.

IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV does this new firmware also apply to this camera ??

I have installed those tioc 2.0, i have configured them as u have done in the video but once they are connected to dmss i do not recieve any message. I have activeted tripline and intrusion in the settings of the cameras but i receive 1 or 2 notification out of 40 passages. And then when i open the video up there is a LOOOOOONG loading until 97/98% where it became stuck and goes in timeout error "connection failed" and i cannot see the video until 30 minutes!!!!! The internet on the site is not awesome but still 30Mb/s down and 7/8 in upload. So where's the problem? It's not the first time that this happens and i'm a little bit tired. I think it could be a problem with configuration.

i bought the IPC-HDW3549H-AS-PV however in the web interface is missing the relay mode setting to arm / disarm. Does it depend on the firmware version? how can i solve the problem? i use (V2.840.0000000.18.R, Build Date: 2022-06-29)

Please login to the camera. Condition features is a camera selection opposed to NVR. With front-end A.I. Technology is best to configure the front-end.

Camera DH-IPC-HFW3249T1P-AS-PV-0360B NVR DHI-NVR2104HS-P-I Question: 1) I set up the IVS on the camera - both sound and light work (red - blue) 2) IVS settings from camra are not transferred to NVR ..... until you reboot NVR? 3) You set up the IVS on the NVR (by camera) - the settings are transferred to the camera (without rebooting). But when the alarm is triggered, the sound there is , but the light (red - blue) is not. Why? 4) You set the IVS on NVR (by NVR ) ------- when there is an alarm, on the camera there is no sound , no light (red - blue) Why?

i have been using Tioc 1.0 and 2.0 for some time now, however i am unable to trigger the siren nor the red/blue lights Via the DMSS mobile app. do you happen to know when dahua will update the mobile application to resolve this issue? i tested these on 8MP tioc 2.0, tioc 1.0 and the 5MP tioc 2.0. i also tried this on the older gdms and still no luck.

The lower the mega pixel the better picture quality in colour mode at night

Its all about personal preference. Our 5MP is the more popular and highest selling camera because its better in low light and a majority of the recorders respond better to a 5MP than a 8MP. Its more the higher end systems that can take 8MP cameras successfully. As a end user comparing the footage of both cameras the footage is indistinguishable unless you zoom in or you know what to look for. You will notice differences as mentioned only in a low light environment.

It’s best to speak with support.uk@dahuatech.com regarding installation requirements. When using front end A.I cameras it’s best to configure the front end so there could be a setting in the cameras head you have missed.

I’m having same problem, my dog is being detected even with sensitivity right down.

Even worse, this 8MP is on the same sensor and CPU as a 2MP non TIOC camera so they had to limit bitrate and other parameters on the 3849 to try to make it functional, and the results are problems even during the day. So any type of AI will bring it to its knees. In my opinion the 3849 should not be sold with that current MP/sensor and CPU combination!!!!
