Dahua SD49225XA-HNR Auto-Tracking Slip
EDIT 9/6/2020: sometime in the spring my slip issues automatically resolved themselves the camera works perfectly for months now. I ordered a second and have it installed and also working perfectly. So not sure what the deal was.
ALSO: Dahua removed auto tracking from these cameras. There is a custom firmware some vendors have that will re-enable it but then you are stuck on that firmware and cannot follow the official Dahua track. So be cautious of where you buy from. Vendors will not release this custom firmware directly.

Example of the positioning slip after an auto-track. The video starts out with the camera in the correct position for the Driveway preset. It then auto-tracks some people walking down the street. When it stops tracking and returns to the Driveway preset, it slips along the way and you will see that all the intrusion boxes are in the wrong spot as the camera is looking slightly left of it's original position.
There also appears to be a glitch as the video was in two files on the SD card. Usually it records to a single file from the initial tracking up until it returns back to the original position.
This is captured with a screen recorder as nothing happens when I try to download the clip from the web UI. It shows a progress percentage for downloading, but then I never get a file.

I have a Dahua SD49425XB-HNR with this exact same issue. I have checked and reconfigured virtually every single option available to me within the web interface. At first I was thinking this was somehow PoE related but I have my switch configured for class 4 PoE delivery and reviewed the raw wattage reporting, not PoE related. Even re-terminated my cable drop lol. Checked presets, checked weird issues with my Synology NAS using Surveillance Station (thinking maybe it was somehow overriding presets, couldn't find evidence of that). I think this is just a bug within the firmware of the camera. Until I found this video I was thinking it was hardware but less likely now as others have this issue. I just bought my camera and it is running the latest firmware (dated March 3/2020) so hopefully there will be a fix or a correction for this issue in the future. My model doesn't seem to have an option to set limits for pan, tilt and zoom coordinates - just 'upper line' and 'lower line' limits, which seems to interfere with the auto-tracking and doesn't reflect any limit for panning. My thinking was maybe this was triggered for a certain PTZ location but cant prove that unfortunately. Great way to describe this issue, I was struggling to find anything about this. Glad you found it helpful! I'm reassured by my vendor that it is a firmware issue that is being worked on.. still no fix yet. I was given the option to return this camera but decided to live with it and wait for a fix. I've been using auto-track and it doesn't slip as much. If I call presets it fails miserably. I also do occasionally manual control to look around the neighborhood and about half the time when I'm done and send it to it's resting preset it doesn't make it there, or it's slightly off of where it should be. I either do a PTZ reset through the web interface or swing it left in a 360 pan. It has to cross the zero position from right to left to realize it's off and correct itself.

My issue resolved itself eventually. Not sure if it’s temperature related or what. Once spring came the issue went away. We will see if it returns in the fall when temps drop.
How much zooming can be achieved for saved/ recorded video?????

Dahua removed the auto-tracking so the latest cameras don’t have it anymore. You have to buy from a distributor that still supports auto tracking firmware.

Elvis Refatov if you can find it. Distributors will remote upload it and won’t directly release the file to you.
