I have a Dahua 4K NVR and cameras. If you want me to seriously tell the truth, they are not that good because the cameras are nowhere near 4K and the video of passing images such as cars and people stutter on screen. They don't flow smooth and often vanish from the screen, or stick and freeze, then shoot past the screen at speed. At other times the images just zip from one end and the other of the screen. When the video stutters at the best possible setting, the passing cars cannot clearly be recognised and people on bicycles pass by like ghosts, hard to see their faces. It's supposed to be a 4K system with clear resolution and smooth flow like a handycam. But, no, I wasted my money with this garbage that stutters at 25fps. I compared its 12Mp cameras with my Sony 4K Handycam and to tell you a honest truth, the Handycam is 10 times better than the BS 4K IP camera. I also have a 4K Hikvision NVR and 8Mp cameras for my other beach home and it does exactly the same as Dahua, surging, stuttering, freezing and screen smears. However, when an event is triggered, I get a small bell and numbers of events triggered. It's a bit better than the Dahua by the fact that when Dahua cameras are triggered by an event, this annoying black 'Alarm Status window that appears in front the screen just to let you know that an event or two had occurred, blocks the screen and remains there, but the events that are displayed in that window for a very short period and then it disappear, leaving the window there, to block the important view of what goes outside. Nowhere i looked in the Settings shows time and date of an event had occurred. You have to do a search in Playback and follow those two green lines where you will find tiny yellow slits that indicate at what point the event occurred. And there is also this problem too. Of all the room under the Playback screen (above the green lines), all the Play/Stop/Reverse/Fast forward and Frame buttons are crammed together on the left of the screen, making it harder to pin point the cursor accurately on the arrow buttons and speed up the flow of the work. Between the AI Rule icon and the scissors icon, there is ample room to spread the buttons wider. Example: [ ▶️⏹◀️ ▶️⏩ and this is just empty space ] It would have been nicer if these button were in the middle and spaced apart, like this example below: [ Play ⏮⏪▶️⏩⏭ ⬅️➡️ ] Hikvision buttons are in the middle of the screen and Play/Pause button is bigger and easy to click on it in one go. Dahua Playback screen is also another problem. Those two green lines do not stay constantly in the center of the screen. You have to click and drag them anywhere near the thin red vertical line that I have no idea what the purpose this centre line is for. But to click and drag the green lines towards the centre has its drawbacks. Sometimes it's impossible to click and drag because at a certain time of day, the green lines are at the very edge of the screen and I have to wait at least 10 minutes before I can catch the lines and drag them to the centre or anywhere near the thin red vertical line. With Hikvision, it is a different screen design. The twin line is blue and it always stays in the centre when opening the Playback and is easier to read the times shown above the line in blue. However, the lines are quite 'sticky' when the cursor is grabbing them to move it left or right, making it impossible to accurately drag the line to the point of interest. I get frustrated when I want to bring the point of interest into view. Either it stutters or jumps too far ahead or too far back. In Playback, when fast forwarding, both systems are terrible at 4+ and up to max. There is no way you can trace an event manually after going past 8X speed. Only 2X speed shows vehicles and people moving smooth but the search will take longer. Comparing the two it is hard to suggest which is better. Dahua has a large black 'Alarm Status' window which only appears at the time an event is triggered and displays a few seconds notification of which port it was, and then the notifications disappear and when you check the notification there is nothing to see. All you get is this annoying black window that blocks the screen. Hikvision on the other hand, has a visible bell on the top right of the screen that appears only if an event has occurred. The red button above it with numbers means how many times the event had occurred. So, this is a better idea than Dahua, as the screen is clear of visual obstructions, but that orange clap board (🎬) is fixed and cannot be moved further towards the corner of the screen. Dahua also has a red bell but it is used for sound, so I was told. However, that black date and time indicator is somewhat annoying, as I haven't been able to remove it because I already have date and time and the name of the camera location. Another reason why I am not happy with this Dahua video security system. Lastly, Hikvision is prone to illegal logins and Dahua seems not to be affected.

Never look at the resolution. Resolution is just a term used for monitors. It's the sensor size that counts. Most 4K cameras are sold with very tiny sensors. 1/2,7 or 1/2,8 sensors are 4times less in size than 1/1,8 sensors. The cameras shown in this video are really good.
