    Hey flower guy. I have been looking at techniques in the cut flower world for about 3 years and nobody has ever explained about removing side shoots to produce longer, straighter stems. I owe you for that my friend! High five from London, England!🤚🏼

    You and Mark's Garden Life are two of my new fav channels. Thank you so much for showing us these tips. My hope is to 'crank up' my dahlia game next season. I don't sell cut flowers; I just love my flower gardens. Hoping to make bouquets for friends and family - just to brighten someone's day. That and I raise honey bees so I plant lots of flowers; especially zinnia, Mexican sunflower, sunflowers.

    Boy, you sure dived in big for your first year! I am in my first year of growing n selling flowers and my plantings were much smaller. I didn’t make much money, trying find the best market is tricky especially when more n more people are doing this. You are refreshing to watch, listen and learn from. Each video you do, gets better n better. You are on topic without a lot of chitchat that has nothing to do with the topic. Would love to see a video on how you battle bugs. Thank you Flower Guy.

    This is a great video with a ton of really helpful information. Thanks for sharing! This is only my 3rd year growing dahlias and staking has been a huge challenge for me. Can I ask how wide each row is?…. like, how much space is in between your lines of string where the dahlia grow? How much space do you allow for your walking path?

    On breaking off the side shoots, is that necessary for the dahlias in my flower bed. Using your method of holding them up. Thanks for any answers

  • @WindyBrookRidgeHomestead

    @WindyBrookRidgeHomestead

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey, Sam. It is not necessary to do so. Breaking the side shoes is for a couple of reasons though. One reason would be for propagation. The second reason would be that my particular buyers do not like side shoots beside the bloom. We have to go through and take them all off.

    Hi, Could I get more information on how you pull the water out of the creek? We also have a creek but is not familiar on how to rig up a system like yours. For example what kind of pump is that you're using? And what kind of pre-filter do you use at the hose base to filter out silt? And how do you power that pump? Do you have it automated where it turns on by itself like a timer you manually turn it on?

    Oh man. I’m so confused. I’m growing my first batch this year from tubers. They are coming in different sizes. One is only a couple of inches tall and the biggest one is about 16 inches tall. There are so many leaves on the bigger ones I don’t know if I should cut any of them back. They haven’t bought it yet. I’m in South Carolina zone 7a I haven’t staked them out because they’re not tall enough and I don’t really want to have those big T steaks in my yard because I don’t think they’re very pretty. I’m going to keep watching your video over and over until I understand what I’m supposed to pinch and when
