    What a lovely way of doing the Dahlias. They all look really healthy too. You have a wonderful collection Annette. I've been watching Geoff and Heather's Dahlia collection videos. I admire them for all the work that they put in and they open their garden for the N.G.S. Their collection is amazing as is yours.

    Fantastic variety of dahlias, I look forward to following their progress and see them flowering. I am trying dahlias for the first time, I have managed to get 8 out of 11 growing but lost my 3 cafe au lait because I overwatered the tubers and they have rotted, went in the bin today. Lesson learnt i hope! It’s all still a learning curve for me.

    Ooh,nice extras. I do like those 2 varieties. I also use that same company as you. Great company to deal with and always such great choice of varieties. My daughters name is also Natasha. I bought a Phlox Paniculata Natascha, for her. I bought Monarda .Beauty of Cobham' for my late daughter and and I grow Zinnia Zahara and Ammi majus for my granddaughters, Ami and Zahara. Great video. Thank you for sharing and happy gardening 🙂 x

    Hi Be, it's so much fun collecting plants with names that have meaning to us, isn't it. I also collect with names of places that we've visited but there seem to be less options here...💚

    WOW! Gorgeous varieties of dahlias! I have a plumb- purple-y theme this year with a splash of orange for my dahlia selections. I like the idea of getting cuttings instead of the hassle with tubers. I waited several weeks after receiving them and just planted them all in a raised bed.

    Beautiful collection of dahlias. Can't wait to see them in full bloom. I love dahlias, but they give me so much trouble with insects, especially thrips and spider mites. I have many varieties of flowers, but none give me insect problems, only the dahlias. I've considered not planting them because they are such a problem. But, I still have last years tubers, so I'll try again. Regardless of my dahlia problems, I really look forward to seeing your beautiful blooms later this summer. Thank you for another great video!

I have ordered all new tubers this year but a number haven’t come to anything and I like the idea of receiving cuttings much more. Your garden is going to look stunning with all the beautiful plants you have growing at the moment 💐

    Can I ask a question. When you get your tubers out of storage and pot them up mine had quite large shoots on them. I followed your previous video from last year and potted up but ive left the shoots out of the soil because theyde be too large to bury. Ya think thatll be ok or with those die. They were white and have now turned red so far.

  • @cottoverdi

    @cottoverdi

    Hi Adam, the shoots would be fine out of the soil, sometimes, if they are too long, I break them off so that they can re-shoot because we don't want leggy dahlias!

    ah right thanks for the advice. Really excited because we decided to try Dahlias after seeing this channel and we're seeing it through for a full year almost. 8 dahlias have turned into 25 from deciding 😮 so should be a good summer fingers crossed. Bought 3 more too. Golden Crown, Avignon and a burgundy cactus dahlia. The sun and ice made it as did Karma Sangria so well be in for a show. Thanks again.

    Greeting's from Ireland, I don't have dahlia's but my mother loves them and the slug's go hell for leather on them. I keep telling her to put in slug traps to control them but she let's nature take's its course. I'd love to grow them but my flower bed's are full and if I buy one more pot my wife will murder me.
