Thanks for this one! Could you do a review of the Level 6 spray skirt please. Looks like a great price for a rand skirt.

You did it! You compared them! Thanks! Will be interesting to see if the Indra hull starts getting the baby bump like the Steeze gets. Would also be interesting to see what Waka tells you about why it gets the bump. That issue alone deserves an investigative report! Wink wink. For now I’m going to keep my Steeze stored on its hull and no more vertical storage. Maybe that will help it maintain an actual planning hull.

It’s the only boat I’ve paddled for the last year. Indra hull doesn’t deform at all.

Plastic in boats has a tradeoff between rigidity/brittleness and plasticity/deforming. Most boat companies have opted for more rigid boats that occasionally crack (sometimes catastrophically). These include Jackson, Dagger, Pyranha, LL, Zet, etc. Waka has very intentionally gone for softer plastic that is prone to bending out of shape but very rarely breaks. The downside is that their boats will oil can, develop more rocker, and the very hull shape will change. The positive side is that they are more durable, will hardly ever fail mid-rapid, have a car-crash crumpling effect when hitting things, and very easily spring back close to their shape original shape. For some reason, Waka boats are significantly lighter than most other brands, likely because they don't need to guard as much against cracks with more material. I personally love this tradeoff. I think there's more benefit to choosing bending over breaking, and I wish other boat makers would take note.

@@liampurvis2477 100%. great explanation. Waka plastic is bomber. I have 150+ days on everything class III-V on my steeze, even with a little roundness in the hull etc, still paddles the same, still one of the best boats made.

That is interesting the Waka plastic bubbles out, usually a boat will oil can.

Still not the same kind of boats. The Puffy is an inflated river running half slice. The Indra is NOT a half slice. Both boats perform differently.

Ask team dagger about what boat they directly designed the Indra off of. How are the steeze and Indra not the same type of kayak?

@@evangarcia9698 pivoting hull on Steeze not nearly as advanced as the newer boats. Otherwise, why make tge Indra at all. But you could call the Steeze an early prototype, but just not the same.

So You think a boat is better because it’s newer? But The Indra doesn’t pivot like a Steeze and is much less loose. It paddles much more like a creek boat than a Steeze, I wanted the stern to be more usable than it was. The Steeze is easier to correct from getting off line, and at the same time much more dynamic and releases for poppy Jibby moves much much better. The Indra paddles nicely for sure, but on a direct comparison, it’s not on the same level as far a a fun super dynamic river running kayak. And I would say that is 75% because of the hull design not being as loose as the Steeze. (My guess is that comes from a more narrow hull) I do however think the Indra maybe a little more forgiving if someone isn’t used the the dynamic feeling and width of the Steeze. In my opinion the Indra felt like an upgraded mamba. For anyone else who has experience in both designs I’d love to hear their thoughts.
