Gabi and Robert taught me more in 2 years than anyone ever in my life. I'm honoured to have been their tour drummer 2001 -2003.

Really, the name E.B.M. or Electronic Body Music, was created by Belgian band Front 242 in 1985. The name that DAF originally created for their music was "Korpse Muzik" (Body Music), without the word Electronic.

Good interview on DAF’s music where it came to be innovative and copied in so much electronic techno music and now EDM in the 21’st century! Love learning Conny Plank was more of a coachman and innovative on using production skills to enhance DAF’s sound with compression and hall sounds with that fat drum sound and sequences! 👍🎼🎹🥁🎤

EDM is not EBM. EBM has a dark and aggressive sound and lyrics, and also a different mindset and perception of life and music. EBM is still alive.

Sehr sympathisch und interessant, DAF war für mich vor allem live sehr, sehr erfüllend, diese Energie, zuletzt beim Mera Luna im Hangar ganz vorn, bei einem der ersten NCNs mit Räuber und der Prinz, ....noch heute ärgere ich mich, dass mich ne sportliche Verpflichtung von einem Konzert in einem Mini Raum in München (Feierwerk) abgehalten hat. Zwei Jahre nach dem Interview... ich hätte gern noch sehr viel mehr mit Gaby gesehen. Robert ist Buddhist, wusste ich noch nicht und ist mir sehr sympathisch, da ich auch seit einigen Jahren Buddhist bin, so Anfänger Buddhist ;-) Bin gespannt, was Robert noch so macht, DAF kann man leider nicht ohne Gaby performen...

Great Interview. DAF are Gawds! But you cannot come up with something new if u don't know what's already out there.

Gabi ist eine Labertasche, Robert ist bescheiden im Hintergrund hat aber meiner Meinung nach mehr Gehalt in seinen Worten.

Vorsicht mit solchen Urteilen. Derjenige, der nicht so viel redet als der/die anderen weckt meist automatisch den Eindruck, zurückhaltender mit seiner Person zu sein und seine Worte genauer zu überlegen. Würde sagen, der hat einfach ne andere "Artikulationsökonomie". Wer dagegen viel und zudem stark assoziativ redet, produziert eben oft auch mehr "Marginalsülze". Oft liegts auch an der Stimme. In diesem Fall: Gabis ziemlich sägende oder leicht megaphonále Stimme (Sänger eben) flext mühelos in andere Sätze rein. Und jemand, der so ne Stimme nicht hat, gewöhnt sich daran, daß er soundmäßig nicht so leicht die verbale Oberhand gewinnt und ist dann schon aus Erfahrung automatisch eben oft erstmal zurückhaltender,....und muß schon deshalb immer sehr aufmerksam sein, um da zu sein, sobald sich die Möglichkeit bietet

Es sind halt doch sehr unterschiedliche Persönlichkeiten. Kein Wunder, dass sie längere Pausen voneinander brauchten.

Das Mikro wäre schon in Ordnung gewesen, aber die Mische war schlecht. Bei Gabi zuviel Höhen und beim Robert zuviel Bassanteile bzw. zu dumpf. Nicht gerade professionell von RB. Insofern hast du schon recht.

Gabi ist genial. Aber seine größte Schwäche: Er musste sich immer in den Vordergrund stellen und konnte andere nicht aussprechen lassen.Ich hätte gern mehr von Robert gehört. Denn er ist auch genial und er hat eigentlich den DAF Sound designed.

DAF et leur liberté d'action dans la musique vaut bien celle de John Lydon, voire Alain Kan, Clash et j'en passe, c'est ce qui m'a séduit instantanément dans le mouvement Punk, et ce sans mode d'emploi ni justification, et là, la poésie opère ... après faut s'expliquer mmmh ... bon ... en Phrance Bérurier Noir période macadam massacre n'est pas loin de l'homo-érotisme de DAF

gute Musiker. hätten auch allein + miteinander reden können. Technik war leider schlecht sowie die Interviewtante absolut überflüssig.

Ich finde sie hat einen super Job gemacht und den Faden gut durch die Themen und Stationen von DAF gesponnen.

Ugh, why does every German have to start their conversation with how non-German they are?

Eins der schlechtesten Interviews die je mit DAF geführt wurde... die xte selbe Fragerei! Mega langweilig...vom Sound ganz zu schweigen. Mit etwas mehr Phantasie und Quergedanken, hätte man mit den beiden ein schönes lustiges Interview führen können

Very sad to know about Gabi's death, it's a terrible loss. Not the right time for this but I'm really tired to hear the same misconceptions about Franco's regime over and over. Spain in 1936 was becoming a marxist dictatorship aided by the URSS, violence against catholics, conservatives or political oponents was common, schools and churches were burnt, people were being murdered for any reason and catholics were in a way "Spanish jews". It was chaos, even the main intellectuals (Unamuno, Gregorio Marañón, Perez de Ayala) who backed the republic at the beggining became frontally opposed to the leftists because of the attrocities and backed Franco. After the war the only real option was a dictatorship but you can't equal nazism or fascism to Franco's regime... I don't know why his father left Spain and couldn't come back unless he was "wanted" for something specific... people left and came back routinely for work, the exile was just after the war in the early 40s (not in the 60s) and the majority of exiled people came back a few years later... not the political leftist leaders or those who commited crimes before or during the war

Apparently you are a fascist. In what world do you live in? Franco helped by the Marxism of the USSR? Really? The only ones who helped Franco were the Duce, Mussolini, and the Fürer, Hitler, who by certainty bombed many cities and towns, murdering innocent people with the Condor Aviation. In addition to helping Hitler to fight against the army of the USSR, with the well-known División Azul. Stop taking drugs. If Gabi's father could not return, like many others, to Spain, it is because Franco was a fascist son of a bitch and a murderer. Y te lo dice alguien que vive en España.
