This solution never gets old: Acorn gets home. His dad asks him how was school. Acorn starts describing it when he suddenly point a finger in the air and says; "And Here Comes The Giant Fist" out of nowhere. The dad looks up, instantly gets squished/beat up by the Giant Fist, then Acorn remembers what Mom said in her joke: exactly what happened to dad.

Acorn is taken to school via the front outside of the bus which he was hit by. The bus abruptly stops at school and he's sent flying face first into the concrete, before ricocheting off the ground and through his classroom window into his seat. There are glass shards buried in his face along with a bruised eye. The teacher exclaims "What The Devil?!" seemingly concerned before reprimanding Acorn for being injured without permission but gets on with the lesson anyway... Today's lesson is - "Why did my wife leave me?"

Dad bids farewell to acorn, returning to the kitchen to finish enjoying his breakfast with his wife. As they watch the tv just across the hall, an emergency broadcast sounded. "Warning. Warning. Nuclear war has been declared, if you are receiving this message, you are in the radius of the initial nuclear impact. Please stay inside and do not panic. This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill.... Warning. Warn..." Nutshell (Dad) was horrified by the message, rushing to his wife so as to enter their underground bunker, will it be able to survive the blast? No one knew, but the clock was ticking. Entering the bunker, bringing all that they could, the lovers held each other thinking of their child. A sudden vibration rocked the earth, sending them tumbling. The bunker wasn't built to withstand nuclear blasts, but was just a slightly more advanced panic room filled with enough rations to last a few weeks. The blast continued for what felt like an eternity, yet felt as if it was but a moment. Suddenly the rumbling stops. Looking at each other under the slight glow of candle stick they held, a look of joy appeared in the married couple eyes. By some miracle they have survived. Trapped in a destitute land of barrenness and the ever present chill of death being right behind them, they must struggle in this post apocalyptic world. Hope is the only light in this dark world. A hope of being able to survive. A hope of being able to return to civilization. And a hope to once again see their child. What dangers and perils lie ahead? Stay tuned to find out. Edit: Never thought this was gonna get so much attention lol. Writing is more of a hobby anyway, still in highschool I wouldn't mind making it a bigger part of my life later on.

I like how they live a semi-casual life, anyway, Acorn goes to school, he remembers the funny story, he rushes back home, he forgets it, he gets back to school, he remembers the story, rushes home, forgets it, goes back to school, when he comes home after school, he remembers the story and finally tells it, but turns out the mom already told it to the dad 💀
