Acid Rap is the second mixtape by American rapper Chance the Rapper. It was released on April 30, 2013, as a free digital download. In July 2013, the album debuted at number 63 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, due to bootleg downloads on iTunes and Amazon not affiliated with the artist. The mixtape has been certified "diamond" on mixtape site Datpiff, for garnering over 1,000,000 downloads. It was rereleased on streaming services on June 21, 2019, alongside his 2012 mixtape 10 Day. A 10th anniversary Complete Edition was later released, including the full version of "Juice", which previously wasn't available for streaming due to sampling issues.

10Day and Acid Rap were DEFINITELY a time. If your dad liked Saba's verse in this, I really hope you show him CARE FOR ME. I loved when Gambino would rap on a track too. He has a bunch of earlier projects, but I would definitely recommend Culdesac and Royalty. For more trumpets AND Chance, of course Donnie Trumpet's Surf album will be the move! Just a few recommendations for anyone that happens to see this. Love the reactions from you two. Looking forward to you showing your dad more Chance The Rapper. Especially Coloring Book.✊

This mixtape has always been Chance’s best work to me. The production, flows, lyrics, stories. It all just takes you on this ride that goes up and never comes down. No skips at all on this project for me.
As a fellow Vancouverite, Kevin’s anecdote about homeless people being human beings with emotions is so incredibly important and worth emphasizing. Too many people view them as subhuman or “just another crackhead”, when in reality they are likely someone trying to escape a deep rooted pain (shout out Dr Gabor Mate for helping me understand that more).

Good for you for realizing . I learned pretty young. I had issues with drugs through my teens . I knew I was just a few paycheques or bad weeks away from being homeless, and I still know that unfortunately . One night me and some friends slept outside , because we used to enjoy it . But it was late September , and it started snowing as we were falling asleep. I was with two female friends and we cuddled up for warmth, but we all just woke up sicker than we have ever been. I can’t imagine that being a daily experience . Luckily Vancouver is good through alot of the winter, so the Vancouver homeless have a bit of a good deal there . I live in Calgary , and our winters get pretty intense .

Acidrap has been there for me through my worst and hardest of times and chances has basically helped me every step of the way when I was down on life. I went to see the 10th anniversary concert in Chicago awhile ago and I’m so happy I got to do so. Seeing Chance with his whole family at as he played good ass outro and his whole family came out was life changing for me.
Dad is so musically aware is so fun to watch
If your dad likes Saba, please please please check out Care For Me by him. Super powerful but sad album, some very heartfelt songs and PROM/KING alone has some of the best story-telling I've heard in any rap song, would be super great to see you guys react to it

damn times were simpler when i first heard this tape, listened to it on repeat for a solid 3/4 months. thank u chance 🙏🏼
This mixtape is what got me into rap. I had never heard anything else like it, still haven't. A lot of nostalgia with this one for sure.
This mixtape was on nonstop for at least a year The GOAT mixtape 🔥
this is one of those projects that no matter how popular it is it’ll always feel so personal to everyone
Still insane 10 years later. No one has made another project like it, including Chance himself.
This made me feel like I was listening to the album for the first time ever again. What a work of art. Acid Rap was such a pivotal moment for hip hop
this came out during my final year of high school and this was the greatest sendoff i could’ve gotten. pretty sure Acid Rap was the final mixtape of the blog era before soundcloud era/streaming fully took over
as a 13 y/o when this dropped, this project completely changed the way I appreciate music. still feels underrated
Chance’s best work hands down and it isn’t even close. Love everything about this mixtape.
I love when yall do albums that ive been meaning to listen to for a decade
you guys come into my life every couple weeks with songs and albums that mean so much to me. Thank u for always bringing my back to roots and showing me what I know and love. You guys are the shit
honestly its sooooooo rare to come across mixtapes or albums like this. just hit after hit. when it first came out I had it on repeat and couldn't get enough of it. and it still holds.
listening to this again with you guys made me think about when I was just a kid when this came out and how music can take you back to a certain time in your life was nice. makes me miss the simpler times but still appreciate it for what it was!
I still remember the first time I heard this, headed to a track meet in high school me and a buddy smoked a joint before we got on the bus and listened to this together through a pair of those old iPod headphones. Then on the way back home listened to it again haha. We had this on repeat for the whole year! Seeing you and your dad listen to it together brings back such a good memory. Thanks for what y'all do 🙏
So happy you started to show your father Chance!!!!
Holy shit I’ve been waiting for this all my life
YAY!!! I am so happy I love this album so much. It has much a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy it
this project meant so much to high school me! beautiful watching you share it with your dad
I don’t have a friend group that appreciates music like I do. Thank both of you for being that for us viewers.
Seeing someone’s first reaction to this is amazing. Wish I could hear it for the first time again
I love when you guys do classic hip hop that I grew up on, I’ll be bumping Acid Rap all day today. I’d love to find this on vinyl
Man y’all took me back with this one! Used to have a acid rap shirt when I was younger. Chance was one of my favorites growing up.
One of the greatest projects of the 2010s. Blessed to have been in my adolescence when this project came out. Legit would run it front to back over and over. Sad to see where chance is now but Maybe he can bring himself back to form.
This Mictape was really special. Action Bronson is such a genuine person, he has a food show called “F*** thats delicious” and goes to different spots in NY. He’s from Queens, where I’m from and one of my favorite albums from his is “Only For Dolphins”
Im so fucking happy!!! Experiencing this again with you is the closest thing to experiencing it for the first time again! Ugh so happy made my day!
This album is so special to me! Chance is an incredible artist, producer, etc I saw him for his 21st birthday in vegas and it’s still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Just as a note, Coloring book is (if my memory serves me correctly) the first album to win a grammy that is technically a mixtape. He did get a deal from Apple Music for a 2 week exclusivity deal, but was then free afterwards.
Absolutely loved this album, hope your dad does too! P.s. Please finish your Saturation series!!!
Just got the vinyl for this mixtape and have been listening non-stop. Was so stoked to see y’all posted this!
This album just makes me so happy in a way i cant describe. It just transports me back to the middle school listening to this shit all the fucking time. Its genuinely one of the best mixtapes ever and my personal fav mixtape ever
Acid rain still on repeat after all of these years. Love seeing other people enjoy the album as much I did the first time

I don’t think L10MIXEDIT gets enough credit. He did all the mixing and mastering and it was his first full project he worked on!! Elton mixed every track to perfection, he balanced everything so well, the blending and feel is hard to describe but he did so well. I couldn’t vocalize it for years but I felt it in .WAV Theory, Bucket List Project, Coloring Book, Blkswn, iiidrops, etc and realized the constant between all of them was L10 behind the scenes perfecting his craft. Dude is amazing
I didn't have much exposure to rap growing up, so I didn't really get it, but someone played this tape for me in the summer of 2014 and I changed my mind pretty quickly.
I completely forgot about this album and you have completely ignited so much nostalgia in me. Gonna have this on repeat now

I really didnt like paranoia the first time i heard it but now its one of my favorite chance songs in general.
This album holds such a special place in my heart. I was a late bloomer to discovering my taste in music and hadn't dived into rap much or any specific artist for that much. Chance caught my eye because of his creative and funny lyrics, and I love his rhythmic flow. This was the first of my favorite albums. I dont keep up with Chance anymore but I will always love this album. No skips.
Okay I just finished I’m so happy Kevin loves this album. You guys made me cry. I want to go get the Patreon now
