BTS is still a group. Due to their mandatory military service they have placed their group activities on hold . We are awaiting their return in 2025. Each of the members have released their solo albums to show their unique talents in music 🎶. Each have different styles of music which makes BTS a GREAT Group of 7 Kings 👑💜💜💜

JK didn’t break away from anything . The band is on a hiatus currently , cause all the members are doing their mandatory military enlistment. The first member and also oldest member is getting discharged this june. And yes all the members have solo careers that they all launched during the last 2 years. Jk is also the youngest in the group. 2025 is when they all get discharge from the military and reunite again as BTS.

They actually all have had solo careers in the group from the beginning. The rappers had more stuff & the singers had more singles and covers but they all have had solo music in the group since pretty much the beginning.

Thank you for reacting to BTS. I won't repeat what others have already said, as they have explained it well. I will add that, in my opinion, the fact that all members have been encouraged, supported and given the opportunities to always have solo songs and solo ventures, as well as being BTS, is one of the reasons for their longevity and success. There are no ego's here. No one has to fight to be heard or to pursue something they want. It has helped them be better artists. And each solo piece they do is always met with huge support and compliments from all the other members. Their earlier solo work is included in BTS albums. As Taehyung recently said in an interview while promoting his solo album - "you need to understand, BTS loves BTS". That's why this works. Enjoy the rest of your journey into the music and lives of these 7 amazing, intelligent, humble, kind humans.

JK is technically the main vocalist of BTS, but that doesn't mean the same thing as in a Western group, where the lead is the "star" and others mainly sing backups. In fact, all the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V & JK) share vocals and some take more of a lead on different songs, as well as all having solo songs on BTS albums. They are all top-notch vocalists and all very different in sound and style. If you get more into BTS you will be able to tell their voices apart. The rap line (RM, Suga & j-hope) also sing harmonies and backups, particularly j-hope, and all of the rappers also sing as well as rap on their solo work. But JK has a strong and rounded pop voice, perfect pitch, a good range, and the most stable voice while dancing hard choreo. He tends to take the center position a lot and he also sings a lot of backing harmonies and ad libs. Jin's voice is really well suited to breathy and emotional ballads and he hits the highest high notes in the group with his silver tones. Jimin has an astonishing counter tenor voice, very high, strong and clear and bright like a bell. V is a baritone with an incredible range who can also get all the way up into the high notes with the others. All the rappers have deeper voices and sing in the lower ranges when they sing, but j-hope can also belt in mid and high tones. The rappers are, without question, the leaders of the group. RM is the official group leader whom the group was built around and who speaks and advocates for them both in public and with their company, but he calls j-hope the "real" or behind the scenes leader and j-hope is their dance leader and emotional center. Suga is the main producer in the group, and all three rappers are the main songwriters and producers. If you want to hear more rap line try Ugh!, Ddaeng, Outro: Tear, Born Singer and their Cypher Series, and a lot of songs from their earlier albums like the School Trilogy album series (2 Cool 4 Skool / O!RUL8,2? / Skool Luv Affair) and Dark & Wild. But honestly, most of their songs have rap sections. There are also solo rap songs on BTS albums, like: What Am I To You, Intro: Persona, Reflection and Trivia: Love from RM Intro: Never Mind, Interlude: Shadow, Intro: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, First Love and Trivia: Seesaw from Suga and Intro: Boy Meets Evil and Outro: Ego from j-hope. He has more solo songs on BTS albums too, but he is singing more in those. Honestly all their music is amazing, super varied in genre, top notch in quality and very deep in meaning. Add to that the fact that they are all just stellar human beings, kind, down to earth, open hearted, honest, incredibly funny and good people, who love their work, love one another and love ARMY with a fierce sincerity and passion. They are just super genuine, super real and super talented. They change lives, not just with their amazing music on important topics like socio-political issues, mental health, grief, self love, societal ills, philosophy, speaking truth to power, etc. but also by their example as people and how they live their lives. ARMY has a saying - You find BTS when you need them most. And BTS says not to worry about not finding them sooner. That the day you discovered BTS is the day they debuted for you. BTS is still a group. They put group activities on pause temporarily for mandatory military service. They have all released solo projects during this time period and will be back as a group in 2025. The roles of the members are: RM- Leader, Main Rapper Jin- Vocalist Suga- Rapper J-Hope- Rapper, Main Dancer, Dance leader Jimin- Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer V- Vocalist, Dancer Jungkook- Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer They all write and produce but the 3 rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) are the main writers and Suga is the main producer.

Also, they all dance but the dance line (J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) are a subunit of the group that would be the ones to do special dance performances. The Rap Line subunit ( RM, Suga, J-Hope) have songs that only include the 3 of them. And the Vocal Line subunit (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) have songs that only include the 4 of them.

They all have solo careers and always have done solo projects in addition to being in BTS. Also, Jungkook does not go by “jung.” If you want to call him a nickname, JK is what he uses.

But as you know it's more like his personality incorporates elements of all his 6 hyungs. For Father and Son: Jungkook entered training when he was only 13 or so, and he was very shy - shy enough to hide in the toilet and not to shower until everyone else was asleep. But his hyungs looked after him well and were very kind, and he came to trust them and to love the - as they love him. Not all young members in idol training had that experience - some groups could be cruel (it is an incredibly competitive environment) but BTS were not like that. They literally brought him up through all his teenage years and all went to his school inauguration and graduation ceremonies - (and took us with them). He debuted at the age of 15 and has since then talked many times about their influence on him : see his song Begin - an amazing performance. On Suchwita with Suga, he clarified that rather than having their personalities, he'll hear himself say something and realise that comes from another member, just like you might hear your dad or your brother in something you say. I know that the video is quite long, but I really hope you react to The Guide to BTS Members, The Bangtan Seven. It tells how they became BTS, their history, hardships and massive accomplishments as well as getting to know the individual members and how each of the individual talents and love of ARMY made them who they are today and why we as ARMY will always stand beside them. There is a saying among ARMY that BTS finds you when you need them most. I am in my late 40’s and have girls in their mid twenties but I found them in 2017 when I was in a very dark place. JK is Jungkook from BTS. That's how they all are - from BTS. Their loyalty will always be to BTS first. They are 7 of the most incredibly talented individuals, all of whom have released solo work that has been chart topping. Together though, their talents mesh into the global phenomenon that BTS is. They are all distinctly different with their vocals yet blend beautifully together. At the moment all 7 are serving their mandatory military service and ARMY are eagerly waiting for their return in 2025.

They have solo projects. BTS is still a group they in my eyes as an old Army will always see BTS as 7 they are a group that sometimes do solo work. So Jungkook hasn’t gone solo he’s still part of BTS . BTS hasn’t broken up nor have plans to do so

I'm only old ARMY by my old age, but not as an ARMY. LOL But the little I know, I think you are correct. I won't be surprised if they do less group activities in the future and take more time off and time to pursue solo activities, but I don't see them breaking up. (hope not anyways). I see them focusing on the group big time for a while when they all get out. But TBH, I know nothing... just guesses. :)

BTS is known as a complete package: good music, awesome lyrics, amazing dance, out-of-the-world performances, great personalities, beautiful brotherhood, everything! They don't do half-baked of anything. Their 10 yrs discography will give you every musical genre there is with poetic, deep messages and lyrics. No two songs are even remotely identical. They wrote and produce most of the songs themselves. With 7 very different yet very talented artists in one group, they are a powerhouse! If you get to know their solo projects, you'll be able to see how different each member are from each other musically, yet they complete each other when they are in BTS. 3 rappers and 4 singers with each different vocals and styles. What you have to understand about BTS is, that they are not like western boybands where the members get pushed into the band and don't get along or each have their separate goals for the future.. the priority for all the members of BTS is BTS.. I'm pretty sure each member would drop what they are doing instantly to do group activities again.. for them there is no "I", only "we".. on their solo journeys they always introduce themselves as part of BTS.. they regard each other as brothers/family not just friends.. some of them lived together for almost 10 years, all of them lived together for at least 7 to 8 years.. as they've said a few times.. they've spend more time with each other than their own families.. Jin once even said he feels nervous on his own.. when they entered the military you could see it on their faces how hard it was for them to separate.. so even if it were not confirmed, ARMYs would have no doubt, that all the members continue group activities after their service finished in 2025.. 💜

The members will be the first ones to say that when it comes to musical careers, BTS as a team comes first before their solo careers. All of them are eager to re-unite in 2025 after the completion of their compulsory military service and tour as a group again.

They say it every time they get a chance - I love how often it comes up on Suchwita. There's a beautiful moment in Jimin's episode when he and Suga start talking about what kind of music they might make after they all serve, and they both just light up with excitement. They genuinely love each other and they all say they're better together than apart. And they all admire each other's solo work, which is beautiful to see 💜

Seconding a recommendation to react to the Guide to BTS Members by Taylor. It will tell you a lot about BTS and each of the members, but it does only go up to their releases as of May 2022 which was JUST before they announced their temporary hiatus for military enlistment and started releasing more solo projects. You should include the son in the Guide reaction if he's interested! As for songs, I'd be interested to see your reaction to the BTS Not Today MV.

Being the main vocalist of BTS doesn't mean he actually sings lead on all their songs. He does a ton of the ad libs and harmonies, but which of the four vocalists takes the lead varies a lot. There are quite a few songs where they share the arrangement pretty equitably, and they all have solo songs as well. Fake Love is a good example of a BTS song in that sense - they hand the melody around. Your interpretation is solid. This one's about being in a relationship and realizing that in order to try to keep love alive you're changing yourself beyond recognition. If you need to change to deserve love, that's not love.

Some of the really early stuff was too - we don't talk about it as often, but they have some very boy-meets-girl songs on the first couple of albums. 🤣 Once in a while someone tells people their songs all have deep meaning (which isn't what you said, I know) and it always makes me want to say "not quite all" so they don't go nuts trying to find the deeper meaning to, like, Dimple 😁

Jungkook is the lead Vocalist of the group. RM is the leader of the group. No JK did not break from the group. They are all doing their mandatory Military service for their country. They will all reunite in 2025. They all did solo activities before each one went into the Military. With the exception of Jin. Jin did one song before entering the Military. Jin will return from his Military service in June of this year. Hopefully he will also do his own solo activities.

He is the main vocalist, which is what we think of as lead vocalist in US. Not bc he always sings lead, far from it, but bc of the other vocal contributions such as adlibs and harmonies.

I will be so glad when my babies come back home from the military. I miss BTS so much. There are no other group like BTS no where in this universe. They are their own, (the whole package) they cannot be compared to NO ONE.

All of them have solo albums. They do that when they're on a break from group activities. All of them in the military now. Jin and J-Hope will be released this year. The other 5 in 2025. J-Hope has a mini album that is out now. He prepared this before he was admitted in the Army. Six marvellous tracks in this album. Check out the song "Neuron". J-Hope is the rapper, dance leader and best dancer of BTS. FYI, he collab with J.Cole last year, song title "On the Streets".

The song has layers, it's well done in that it's relatable on multiple levels, which allows it to resonate with so many people. To address your question, JK can be considered the main vocalist, although the group was formed around the leader, RM. They have the rap line (RM, J-Hope and Suga) and the vocal line (Jungkook, Jimin, V and Jin). It should also be known that they've done solo work pretty much from the beginning, they have solo songs on their albums and the have songs that are just the vocal line and just the rap line as well as songs that are just a few from both lines. There are many YT videos on their official YT channels, which I really appreciate.

You have to watch 'ON' Kinetic Manifesto Film : Come Prima & Black Swan. They are both perfect MV that display just how bad ass BTS is. Music, Choreography and performance. Trust me you will not regret watching them. Also any of their Award Performances (Melon Music Awards 2012-2019 /MAMA) Their showmanship is up there with MJ, Prince & Bruno Mars. Enjoy 🕺

BTS " MAKE IT RIGHT", reaction

This topic can be very confusing, but in K-pop the terms “leader”, “main vocalist” and “lead vocalist” mean specific “jobs” or sets of duties within a music group. “Main vocalist” is the closest to a “lead singer” in Western music but not a direct equivalent. (It definitely does NOT mean the rest of the members are any less important or valued) The position of each member within a K-pop group (they can have more than one) is an area of performance responsibility (rapper, vocalist and/or dancer) and the designations (main, lead, [base], sub) are similar to military ranks (different duties or levels of responsibilities). These positions/designations are not set in stone, over time members can grow into additional ones and/or become “all rounders” able to excel at all of them. They don’t necessarily determine the distribution of lines/verses on songs either (at least not in BTS). BTS has 1 Main rapper (RM), 1 Main vocalist (Jungkook) and 2 Main dancers (J-Hope and Jimin). They are like the “captains” or “co-captains” of the rap line, vocal line and dance lines respectively. “Leads” have a different set of responsibilities and are like “2nd in command” for their line. Jimin is the lead vocalist and Jungkook is the lead dancer. (J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook and V are the official dance line) “Leader” is a different role, responsible for keeping the group organized and serving as the liaison between the group and their entertainment agency. They are often fluent in several languages and usually the oldest and/or the one with the longest training. They often speak on behalf of the group at special events or in interviews. BTS’ leader is RM, but when it comes to tweaking and polishing their dance routines their dance leader (J-Hope) takes over. Hope this helps clear up confusion, rather than make it worse 😅

Each of the members has pursued solo work, but that is within the framework of BTS. Jungkook IS considered the Main vocalist in the group, which by the way, is different from the Lead singer. You were asking about his position in the group in past tense. He still is the main vocalist in BTS is still a group of the same seven guys.

You are right! JungKook is the lead singer of BTS, but they are in a hiatus because they need to be in military because in Korea, going to military is mandatory. While in hiatus, they were able to do solo works but they were not disbanded, they promise to still be a group once they finished their military service. BTS members have been doing solo projects since before they even debuted as BTS. They have all always had solo careers parallel to their careers with BTS. They are still a group and recently signed a third renewed 7 year contract with their label. They have said many times that they want to always stay together, and the thing they all say about performing as soloists is how much they miss their brothers. They have always encouraged, supported and been proud of each other's solo works. There are 12 solo albums among the members, and many other solo collabs, OSTs, covers and singles. They also have solo songs on BTS albums. They are just a genius collective of songwriters/producers/singers/rappers/dancers/artists who are also a chosen family. The most recent crop of solo albums and performances, and Suga/Agust D's solo world tour last year, were because they had to pause group activities as the elder members began their enlistment periods for their mandatory military service in S Korea. The eldest gets out in June, the next one in October and the rest in summer 2025. They plan a tour in probably late 2025 or in 2026. Members solo albums are: ~ RM ~ RM Mono Indigo ~ Jin ~ Singles: The Astronaut, Abyss, Tonight, Yours ~ Suga/Agust D ~ Agust D D-2 D-Day ~ j-hope ~ Hope World Jack in the Box Hope On the Street (brand new! Just released March 29th) ~ Jimin ~ Face ~ V ~ Layover ~ Jungkook ~ Golden They also have 20 albums as a group. All their albums are concept albums with layered and complex storytelling, many of them linked in sets or series based on themes. Their music can of course be enjoyed on a surface level, but they are famous for the depth of their lyricism and storytelling. They ask that albums be listened to in tracklist order because they are in storytelling order. That includes Golden, which, while not as deep lyrically as most of their work because Jungkook chose to outsource the songwriting on it, tells the story of all the phases of a romantic relationship, with another layer underneath of love messages to ARMY, which run through a lot of their work. They consider ARMY to be like their extended family. Really. This song, for instance, is off the Love Yourself series of albums (Love Yourself: Her / Love Yourself: Tear / Love Yourself: Answer / Face Yourself) which are based on all types and stories of love, romantic, familial, self, fated love, toxic love, tragic love, etc. You can take the song as about a romantic relationship, as this is certainly one of the layers of meaning. They always make sure their songs have a universal and relatable surface theme. This song is about when you are lying about your feelings and so you are being fake, not being true, not being real. The fake love is for themselves and what they are offering others because they are not being wholly honest, so they cannot offer real love to others or to themselves. This is why the song references making themselves into a doll and not knowing themselves. At it's heart though, the song is a treatise on fame, and all the pressures on them to please others vs remaining authentic to themselves. At this time they were struggling under the intense pressures on them and were hiding some of that from ARMY and this song is about how they wanted to be fully honest with us about it, which they did eventually do, but multiple songs came out of this struggle at this time, including this one. Their choreography is always storytelling based performance art which tells parts of the story of the songs, and this choreography is based on puppets/marionettes, as well as moves that mimic wearing masks, and hear/see/speak no evil moves, all of which are about lying or not speaking your truth and not being "real." The song and MV also have another layer of storytelling as they are also heavily linked to the fictional supernatural mystery story that runs through their albums called the Bangtan Universe or the BU where each of the guys plays a fictional character struggling with some really heavy life challenges. The BU storyline is revealed in clues spread through multimedia content including song lyrics, album notes, MVs, short films, books, webtoons, their mobile game BTS World and more. So, many of the visuals in this MV that may not make sense to you, like the candy, the water and fire, the cell phones, etc, are linked to the BU.

JK is considered main vocals because yes he sings alot but mostly b3cause he does most of rhe adlibs. Alot of back vocals. But all members have alot they sing in every song and with each person when its their turn to sing/rap they are alwags at the center.. The mandatory military they are currently doing, they say hiatus but i say a break, they all have solo work. All released solo albums on this break while waiting to go to military. If you look at most of their work there the rappers do most of the writing / producimg but the others do it too just not as much. No they are not the only writer and prducers if you look at their songs the discription youll see more the one wroter producer but the memebers have their say and rap lines write their own rap lines for the songs. So again thanks for the great reaction. But please do the live versions to. They are so much better.

They all take turns singing every song...they all have beautiful voices. 4 singers, 3 rappers. (JK tends to do a bit more of the singing, but not always.) BTS are on a haitus right now so they could do some individual music, and fulfill their South Korean mandatory, military service. They are all presently enlisted. Jin comes back this June, JHope in Oct, and the rest in June 2025.

When introducing themselves during their solo commitments, ALL the members introduce themselves with their name followed by "of BTS". If you watch the Guide to BTS by Taylor Mari, you'll understand why they are not a group or boy band that can be separated. They are a family of seven brothers. They have all signed a second 10 year contract.

Not 10 years. K-pop contracts are limited by law to a maximum of 7 years. Their new contracts will be shorter than that, probably 5 years, maybe less.

I misspoke. Their first seven contract was a seven year contract from 2013 to 2020 but they renewed it two years early in 2018. Their second contract began in 2018 and I'm assuming it expires in 2025. It's my understanding that as each member is discharged from their military service, they will sign a new contract. I think I got it right. Apologies if I didn't.

@@Andie4 they each signed new contracts in late 2022/ early 2023 before enlisting, replacing the original second contracts. My understanding is that the new contracts give them even more direct control over their musical and creative direction, both as a group and individually. They also ended the arrangement whereby they delegated their individual shareholder voting rights in Hybe to Bang Si Hyuk. It’s unlikely that these will be for a full seven year term. More likely they will run to 2027.

Jungkook is the main vocalist, this means he is responsible for singing the guide when they start a new song, also he sings most of the layered choruses which are loaded on a backing track. He is not necessarily given most of the actual vocal parts, all 4 vocalists take parts. Currently BTS is on a hiatus because they all have to do mandatory military service. They started enlisting over a year ago so that some were working on personal projects while other served. This was partly to keep tje fans happy and also to keep up revenue for their management company. Jin who enlisted first will be released in june, he is the only member who hasn't yet released a solo album, but he will have abyear to work on one until all the guys are free. I think an album from Jin will be something very special, he has such a wonderful voice. If you want to hear some Jin watch Awake, Epiphany, Moon and The Astronaut.

Jin, v, jimin and jk are the vocalist and rm, suga and jhope are the rappers… they all have their own solo careers. Even though they all dance jhope and jimin are known as the mane dancers that they all look to. You should watch their tv shows in the soop and other things they have done

JK *IS* the main vocalist but they all step up front in most songs and some lead others. They are very much still a group on hiatus for mandatory military service. Each member also released solo albums. I see that you live JK. BTS is seven equally talented men. They’re 7 JK caliber artists. There’s a reason they’re the biggest band on the planet.

Thanks for your reaction. The song is pretty much about changing yourself for someone else. The mv is part of the Bangtan Universe which is a heavy, deep, fiction storyline that we see in some of the mvs, and in a bunch of other places (for ex, the snickers bars, fire, water, the phone, the masked figure, pretty much everything that's in the vid). The full story is still not completely known but it was revealed slowly over time as songs and albums etc came out so there are lots of theories and vids explaining. As everyone said, they are on a break as they serve in the S Korean military and they all have solo songs and solo careers.

This song can be about a relationship between a romantic couple, but it can also mean the relationship you have with yourself. Wanting to be someone you’re not and changing yourself to become someone that you lose sight of who you actually are. In the new BTS book, the boys also mentioned that they were going through some tough times when they wrote this song. But they didn’t want their fans to worry, so they always put a smile on when they were on stage. But the fandom grew bigger and bigger and they got all this love from fans. Which made them question if the love from fans can be real if the fans aren’t seeing the real them but a version of them where they put on a mask to hide their exhausted selves to step on stage. Believe you me…their songs can go deep. To a level that I wasn’t used to. Took me some time to get used to it and start thinking more while consuming their content. Totally opened my mind

@3:25 yes, jk *is* the main vocalist but it may not be in the sense that you're used to. Jungkook is not the leader (RM is). As main vocalist, he has a lot of parts, does a good amount of harmonizing, is the center at multiple points of choreo, etc. But it's not like a stand-alone frontman like it is in the west. Others may have more parts of the songs if the songs call for it. Other members are highlighted more in some choreos. There's not the typical ego or status that we usually see in the west. They do whatever the song or dance required if that makes sense. Also, he's the main *vocalist*, there is also a main rapper (RM) and main dancers (J-hope & Jimin). So, because they all treated as equals, they all have successful solo endeavors. P.s. the group is still together, just in the military (including Jk).

The main vocalists entails more than just singing. I can't imagine the pressure he felt at 15 years old to be named the main vocalist, but he handled it like a pro. :) and yes they all have amazing voices. To me it's almost a miracle that they ended up with such outstanding singers when NONE of them had any singing experience. If you are curious about the main vocalist title, watch Ida S.'s "Jung Kook the Main Vocalists of BTS". She does a good job breaking it down. I notice things now that I never noticed before... like all the times JK is singing adlibs and harmonies... sometimes in the backing tracks, but also in live performances. The others do, too, but not as much as JK. I think the older they get and now that they are so experienced, they seem to be dividing that up more, which is probably good.

RM only talked about JK's official position in the group. The other vocalists still have a lot of parts and solos indeed! As main vocalist he does a lot of harmonies, high notes, ad libs, records their guides (even the rappers' parts). SUGA said in Suchwita that he used JK's voice for his guides when he produces

BTS isn't like most boy groups where there are one or two stars. All seven are super talented and very different so you get a nice mix of styles, but they all like and appreciate different genres. They do have official titles, but at this point of their careers they are so advanced that I'm not sure they are necessary any more. JMO :) But you asked about JK. His titles are the main vocalist (highest), lead dancer (right below main), sub rapper (he rapped in their early songs), and center of the group. RM, one of the rappers is the Leader of the group. It's kind of hard to explain. :) Even though they all have their own niches and may excel in certain areas, they can all dance, all sing and all rap. The vocal line rapped in concert to the song "Ddaeng". You should check it out. Also, at some point you may find it interesting to see their beginning. JK was only 13 when he joined as a trainee and 15 when they debuted. V and Jimin were 17 when they debuted, RM was 18, J-Hope 19, Suga and Jin were 20. You mentioned J-Hope when he was rapping. He just recently released a mini album called "Neuron". It goes along with the docuseries he has on Amazon Prime taking us back to his roots in street dancing. The album is chill and very different from his last album which was more Rock influenced. I suggest "More" from his "Jack in the Box" album. That's what is so wonderful about these boys. You never know what you will get. Hope you check all of them out. For RM, I suggest "Wildflower and Joke" (two totally different sides to him), for Suga aka Agust D, I suggest his trilogy "Daechwita", "Haegeum" and "Amygdala". For Jin (he is the only one without an album because he went into the military a lot sooner than the others), but he does have some singles. Try "Epiphany" live under BTS and "The Astronaut" (either live at Coldplay concert or the mv). For JK "Still With You" (a song he co-wrote and produced during COVID for ARMY) and "Euphoria" live in Osaka, Japan. For V I suggest "Fri(end)s" and "Slow Dancing" (or the Tiny Desk Korea Concert). For Jimin I suggest "Like Crazy" and "Set Me Free pt 2". For the group check out "ON Kinetic Manifesto" and "Run BTS" dance practice. I'm enjoying your journey through BTS and JK. JK is my bias, but I am patiently waiting for you to dig into the other members. 🙂 💜

I agree, for what it's worth, that their official positions aren't very important at this point. I think that's part of why a lot of HYBE groups don't have official performance positions anymore - they tend to be limiting. They have roles that they usually play in performances, but those are based on their skills not on an external assignment. And they've all stepped into different roles at times. It's a lot more flexible and leaves room for growth of the individual members. I'm not saying that JK isn't important as vocal leader or Hobi as dance leader, they really do amazing things to lead and balance the group. I just think that's about who they are, and it doesn't matter if they have an official position or not 😁

JK is the main vocalist and Jimin is lead vocalist (those are different), but V and Jin also get good air time and flow in and out and around to fill out the sound. J-hope, one of the rappers is a regular subvocal in many, many tracks.

BTS is made up of three rappers and four vocalists. JK is the main vocalist. He has perfect pitch and records most of the backing vocals for all members, including the rappers. But that doesn’t take from the other members. All seven have award winning solo careers. You have barely scratched the surface. I recommend you check out some of the rap-line songs. Ddeng, Outro: Tear, the four cyphers, Ugh, etc. These songs do not have videos, so you can watch live performances or lyric videos.

In my opinion.... JK is certainly one of if not THE lead singers of BTS. The group is made up of four "singers" (that can also rap) and three rappers that can also sing. This is by far the most talented group I have ever seen. They can sing, dance and rap and several of them are music producers. How on earth someone was able to find this much talent and put it together in a cohesive group is beyond me. Take care.....

BTS has given themselves permission and even encourage themselves to create their own music and share it freely. They feature solo performances in their BTS concerts. They have solo mixed tapes, CD’s and have recorded with other artists. This freedom of expression in my opinion is the glue that has kept them together. Get to know BTS first but then search each members solo projects that have all broken records. There is not a Justin Timberlake or Harry Styles breakout. Every single one of them have and will sell out their concerts. Suga had a huge sell out concert series , J Hope broke Lollapalooza 2023 fastest selling out. V’s album is still in the charts. Jimin hit #1 on the Billboard charts. Watch out for Jin. He’s coming out of the military in June. I am so looking forward to see what he’s going to release. Enjoy this rabbit hole you are in.🐇😉

The vocal line is great all around but JK has perfect pitch and is very stable more so then the others. That is why he is main. All the members have solo careers not just JK. They do this to prepare for military. So after they get back from military they can work on solo work and wait for the others to come back. After all are back group work can resume again. JK is the main singer. So he does alot of background vocals and adlibs. If a member is sick he can support them. In fact he is capable of filling in for any member including the rappers. He is regarded as a vocal genius by producers. Big Bang told Suga and RM to stop using JK for the guide vocals for other artists as they were too intimidating. He does sing the guide vocals for BTS. . An interesting side note. He was the member who has had leadt vocal coaching. He was worried coaching would take out the individuality of his vocal tone. He performed as a masked singer in Korea when still as teenager western age and 20 korean age. He helped Jimin stabilise his falsetto. He told Suga he recorded his GOLDEN tracks one a day.

BTS is like the best present ever. I used to just like to watch and listen. I did not know names or faces or voices. Fast forward to today, I am into everything KZread, Spotify, Weverse, V live, all the things. You need to watch ALL of their solo projects. The difference in their styles is mind blowing, then the get all together and it just goes up another level. You would think that they have accomplished everything already, but THE BEST IS YET TO COME! If you know you know😎😎
