This song was inspired by Babymetal. One of the biggest shows of the year for Sakura Gakuin is TIF, the Tokyo Idol Festival. In 2014, Yui and Moa were on tour with Babymetal in the US (opening for Lady Gaga), and missed it. On one of the songs Yui and Moa danced on a video feed along with SG. One of the themes of Heart no Hoshi is that though we are separated our hearts are one under the same sky. So a little tie in to Babymetal.

2014 - 2015 is the final year of Yui and Moa in Sakura Gakuin.

Well... It isn't exactly before. This Video was made, when Suzuka already had graduated from SAKURA GAKUIN (Cherry Blossom Academy). This was made in Yui's and Moa's last year there (2014 iirc). BABYMETAL started 2010 as a side project (a club) of SG and was transformed to an independent band in 2013. BTW: Have you recognised Yui (not this difficult) and Moa in this video?

Moa san had a lot on her plate at that time (ha-ha because she's a notorious foody). Not only was she recording and touring with Babymetal, but Student Council President of Sakura Gakuin. She was who the responsibility for inspiring and shaping that year's newest members into SG material. Getting girls who don't know one another to work together and trust each other as a team is pretty terrifying all by itself! Yui san was in charge of producing. She would create all their setlists and organize their stage shows! Both girls only in 8th grade mind you!

I'd suggest Song for Smiling by Sakura Gakuin if you want one with Su-Metal in it

Moa was the leader of the Rakusa clan (Sakura spelled backwards), holding the flag. Which is appropriate as she was Sakura Gakuin Council President at the time. The other two featured girls were Hana Taguchi and Yunano Notsu. They graduated from Sakura Gakuin at the same time as Yui and Moa in March of 2015. This song / video are from 2014. NOTE: To answer your other question, Sakura Gakuin has ranged between 8 to 12 members at a time. At that point there were 10.

Let's play spot the Babymetal members! Yay! My favorite game! In the forest, Moa was the leader of the tribe, the one holding the flag and Yui was the one with the old camera. In the gymnasium, Moa is the first one we see, saying the line "naki dashita". When Eden said, "isn't that her?" that was Yui! The part where they had a close up of 4 of the girls in a row, the first 2 were Moa and Yui. And at the end we can see Moa on both sides of the door looking at herself. This was the last year that Yui and Moa were in Sakura Gakuin, Suzuka had graduated 2 years before.

I love the concept of this video. My interpretation of the Rakusa girls' story is that they are living in a world of old forgotten things. Their antique clothing and possessions look like what you might find long stored away in an attic. The leader (Moa) has become so accustomed to it and immediately rejects this new fun they've discovered from their Sakura counterparts on the other side of the mysterious door. However, she eventually comes around to enjoying it as well. Though they started out as the youngest, Yui and Moa were the elders of the group in the year that video was made. Not just the oldest in age, but also had been in the group the longest. :) The two youngest in the video (Aiko Yamaide and Megumi Okada) are due to graduate from Sakura Gakuin this year. Time just keeps on flying.

You should react to "Song for smiling", in that one you have the 3 girls and it's a really cute video. Also, in the "Verishuvi" video you have again the 3 girls, plus Ayami, who was a Karen Girl with Su. And of course, you have to do more Babymetal, so "4 no uta" is my recomendation. I think I've already told you about the lyrics, you know, superstition about number 4 and death because they have the same pronunciation (shi), but the girls change that for happiness (shiawase) and all that, remember?... anyway... is a cool song with a nice message, so I hope you react to it.

Clear up some confusion, or misunderstanding, but SUZUKA NAKAMOTO had already graduated from Sakura Gakuin, only You and Moa were there in this video. Both of them have been doing BABYMETAL since they were 10 years old. Su started in BABYMETAL when she was 12.

BTW, Please watch Sakura Gakuin - My Graduation Toss live! Is Suzuka's graduation from Sakura Gakuin and is very emotional! (the oldest babymetal girl) Q/How do you do to avoid getting hit by copyrights? Japanese companies are so strict about that! :O

Like others have posted, the timelines of the different groups and girls can get quite confusing if you're not fully aware of the history. And Suzuka, Yui and Moa look quite different when they're not in BABYMETAL form. Especially Moa. Try picking them out when reacting to Song for Smiling. :-)

To Eden, to clarify: BABYMETAL fans call it, "going down the foxhole", as a reference to "going down the rabbit hole" and the Fox God. I.e.: delving into the history of BABYMETAL. ;-)

🌸 🏫 +MATTYMATT Official Since it gets a little confusing, here's a timeline. Karen Girl's - (Suzuka Nakamoto, Ayami Muto, Yuika Shima) 2008-2009. Sakura Gakuin - Begins in April, 2010. (with Suzuka Nakamoto, Ayami Muto and six other girls.) Yui and Moa officially "transfer in" later that year. The "Heavy Music Club" sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin (better known as BABYMETAL) releases their first single in 2011. (Group consists of Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi). Suzuka graduates from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Yui and Moa graduate in March of 2015.

It just occurred to me that Megumi and Aiko are the last two current members to be in the group before Yui and Moa graduated. It feels like the end of an era, since they're set to graduate soon. Of course, we know that Sakura Gakuin will carry on to help talented girls become super ladies. :)

+0okamino I've been thinking about that a lot. They're the last two members of the Rakusa Clan left. : ( Fortunately, Aiko has been able to showcase some of her original songs / piano playing, and of course Megu has been appearing regularly on Oha Suta.

Rick Wagner san Moa is be loved 最愛 Aiko is Love Child or Love Girl 愛子. Megu is Megumi but wrote 愛. So Megumi has double meaning. Megumi is ordinary written by 恵、惠、mean wisdom, enlightenment, blessing, grace, mercy, charity, alms. 愛 means Love. As you know, they're second BLACK BABYMETAL in Sakuragakuin. Yui & Moa are Moi Moi. Aiko & Megu are Ai Ai. They will graduate, but there's remained Hopeful members, they played BABYMETAL Song as you know.

+Anu metal So many levels of meaning there! I've also heard the three current Sakura Gakuin seniors, Aiko, Megumi and Momoko, referred to as LLP (Love Love Peach) because of their names.

The women on the right is correct. That was Yui. Moa is the one with the flag. No Su. The most common mistake the people make is thinking Sakura Gakuin is a real school. Sakura Gakuin is an idol group with a school theme it is not a real school. The classroom parts that you may have seen is for a TV show in Japan. The teacher is a comedian/actor/radio host. The girls are idols not students. I could write more then you will ever want to read so I just leave it at that. Nice channel it's cool that you include your daughters.

0okamino san Actually Mirena experienced Tsurugi Mai at Open School of Sakuragakuin. Now she is Main actresses of Tsurugi Mai, Metal Opera, Momotaro.

Thank you very much for your reactions. Many people commented same things, no remains ? I think that you stop this video too early, you missed next scene. Yui, Moa, Yunano, Hana of RAKUSA tribe go through the door, and cheer reading. Yui came from Reader Model. Moa, Yunano, Hana came from Ciao Girls. These four Girls were last year, 9th grade.

If you didn’t already notice Moa was the Forest girl leader. Yui has the camera. There is a side by side of the 4 girls in the next graduating class starting with Moa and Yui. BabyMetal was already touring outside of Sakura Gakuin internationally when this video came out. Yui and Moa graduated out of Sakura Gakuin after this school year was finished.

It’s amazing to see where they came from. The music style are from completely different worlds and for them to adapt to metal music from this is incredible. It makes me appreciate them more. By the way, Riley has been missing from a lot of the reactions. Is she busy with school or something? 😢
