    Hi Helmuth! Love your videos! Would you consider doing a test run of the Dacia Jogger Hybrid? It's the same engine as the clio e-tech I know, but totally different body and weight, so it could be really interesting. Best wishes 🙂

    I think its a good result , especially for its price and the fact that it is a 7-seater... if u divide 4,6l , or even with full load, 7 person an around 5- 5,5l, its a very low cost to travel. plus the lpg version of the same powertrain is probably way more enviroment-friendly.

    Hello, could it be that this good result is in part because of board computer error in calculating the consumption? Or is it accurate? Thanks

    Even if the BC was 10% wrong the result would have been good. And research shows that BCs show too high consumption in over 70% of cases (according to ADAC, the worlds largest Automobilist-Club).

    You should come to make a fuel consumption test in Romania, especially in Bucharest. In this city, the fuel consumption is measured in litres/hour. Those values from your table does not match with the values obtained in many areas.

    I see that you dont use a little more advanced methods as pulse&glide, engine on coasting (neutral) or for fun maybe even more extreme things as engine off coasting. Could you try something like that in one of your next videos?

  • @ecodriver1746

    @ecodriver1746

    I did coast quite a lot, although this is a real-life test and not a world-record attempt, so I try to show what is possible if driven "normally". Switching off the engine is rather dangerous, as some little helpers like power steering or -braking might not work then.

  • @au9879

    @@ecodriver1746 You did coast yes, but you used in gear coasting, which is perfect for driving down hills, it doesnt use any fuel, but it does slow down car more than neutral coasting, which uses a bit of fuel, but you travel further. Especially in combination with pulse&glide, also VW uses neutral coasting as a economy feature in their latest DSG. Another thing I do sometimes is to brake long before i come to red light to increase my chances (time) to be still moving when light changes to green. But I really hate traffic lights, I dont understand the advantages over just using roundabouts everywhere. But I have to admit, for a big car with petrol engine you achived impresive numbers, I doubt you could gain a lot with extreme hypermiling. Edit: Sorry, I watched video again and indeed you mention neutral coasting is sometimes usefull for maintaing speed. So you really try to use every sensible trick to lower consumption...

    I decide what coast mode I use depending on what is needed. If it goes downhill and I need some braking then - of course - I keep the gear in, or if I see I will need to reduce the speed anyway. If the braking in the lowest possible gear is too strong, only then I decouple. It's not that one is better than the other, it depends on the circumstances and what you want to achieve.

    In the video I said circa, as this car had no official papers yet (temporary licence plate) and I took an average value from Wikepedia. As this is stated there with "1257 - 1327 kg", this was the 110 hp (there are two smaller engines plus a hybrid) and the best trim level, so I guess 1300 kg is a good guess, 1205 kg for this very car definitely too low.
