Dacia Jogger 1 Year Ownership Report | Do I Still Like It?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This week on Buckle Up it's GOOD NEWS Harry give an update on his car, a Dacia Jogger Comfort 110 TCe. This is the Romanian brand's large 7 seat family car, though they refuse to decide if its an MPV, SUV or Estate. Starting from £17,435 it offers exceptional value, but is it any good?
Up against rivals such as the Citroen Berlingo, Ford Tourneo Connect, Peugeot Rifter, Renault Kangoo, Skoda Yeti, Vauxhall Combo Life and Volkswagen Caddy Life does the Dacia offer a thrifty but fun alternative?

I have a Jogger - only 1500 miles in at the moment but very pleased with the quality, economy and durability. I have squeezed 4 adults and 3 7 year olds into the car with no problem, and it didn't cost me £50 grand to do so. Great review, great and honest car. Reminds me a little of my first car (Renault 4), my FIAT Multipla Mk 1 and our Citroen 2CV, in that both cars never pretended to be luxury vehicles - they just got on with the job without fuss. I've had Fords, Alfa Romeos, Vauxhall, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW.........even an Austin Maestro, and the Jogger is up there with the best of them for comfort, versatility and value for money. I love it.

Update: just got back from family holiday with my six week old Eco-G Jogger. After a 3000km round trip to warmer climes, with five people inside luggage, paddle-board, boogey boards, fins etc. and a full size bicycle (yes, INSIDE the car, with one second row seat folded, and one third row seat stowed) I love the thing even more. Just gave her a wash and hoovered a ton of sand and now she's spotless. Also, cleaning gave me a really detailed look how she's put together, and you can really see the genius of the design, plus where costs were cut, with no loss of quality. It all just makes sense!

Good review, I've had mine as a second car since December and managed to clock up 13600 miles already. Nothing has gone wrong and as it is all motorway mileage, it's showing an average of 58mpg which is great for the size of the car. Nice to have a car which is just good at doing what a car is supposed to do.

I live in Spain and have the Jogger Extreme SE 7 seater, Petrol/LPG Version (LPG 0.76 cents litre here where I am) had it nearly 9 months, in U.K. £ cost me around £16500 at the time was €18600. Just before prices went up. Had to wait nearly 10 months for it but worth it. I’m so impressed with the ride quality I traded a 2019 Skoda Karoq for the Jogger and I consider the Jogger ride quality better than the Karoq I had. No problems, good honest car at a reasonable price. I also purchased the 4 year service plan. Forgot to mention where I am the road tax for this car is €24

@@todorkolev7565 I had it from new and for me to keep a car for more than 18 months is rare, the fact that i kept the car for 3 years is a testament to the fact that i liked it. At the time i thought I needed a 7 seater so traded for the 7 seater Jogger. However since I bought the Jogger (DEC 2022) I have decided I didn't need a 7 seater and replaced the Jogger (Dec 2023) with a Renault ARKANA full hybrid - However, there may come a time in the future where I may need a 7 seater the Jogger hybrid Auto will be in my top 3 list to consider as its a really good value for money car and very comfy, as comfy as the ARKANA I have now.

I bought a new Duster in 2016, I live in Ireland now; rural area, loads of hills and the roads…..variable🤗 In the 5 years and 76,000 km, I had it it was 100% faultless. Despite some of the roads best efforts nothing rattled, squeaked or fell off. And…the person who owns the car now reports exactly the same. In 2021 I bought a new Citroën C3 Aircross. (Which is also an Opel Mokka underneath with Vauxhall badges instead of the original Opel ones for UK) and also a Peugeot 2008. Also an excellent car but in real terms - touchy feely bits aside - is no better than the Dacia but costs more of course. And it had a few minor teething problems. I think the Jogger has become the new Duster, and we’re tripping over them both here. The Irish are very, very tough on their cars - I moved here from UK 15 years ago - and anything that sells well has to be good. It’s the land of used E Class Mercs and cars like the Dacia here. Oh, and Toyota Landcruisers for the farmers. Loved this video👍

Had my Jogger for 6 months now absolutely loving it. Apparently i was a bad driver according to the onboard scoring system! Was sitting at 45/100 points for the first couple of weeks and i was kind of annoyed at that fact. Started to accelerate slower etc and try to improve and now sitting with a score of 95/100 and my mpg is at 54.0 which is 3 more then the official stats. So not only is the jogger economical if you care enough to improve your driving, its insanely cheap for what it is with camping trips and taxi service for the family (the only driver). Have done 5800 miles so far and no issues. Best decision ive ever made!

I've got the Xtreme model and I'm very happy with it. I reckon that the Jogger is Dacia's "Skoda moment". They've gone from cheap, no nonsense cars to a more prestige offering. The Bigster looks like it's going to be another step up. Only downside I can see is that the prices are going to go up. This has already started with the Jogger which is over £3k more now than when it first appeared.

Thanks for the update, i like the presentation chaps, friendly and informative without being too clever by half which some car reviewers get wrong. Whilst the 1.0 litre would do us fine and previously i hadn't been too bothered about going back to manual, a 4 week stint with one of my daughter's manual Civics soon put that idea to bed. So, if we do go for a Jogger its going to have to be the hybrid unless they offer a decent autobox option for the 1.0 litre, which probably won't happen. Going to hang fire a while and see how reliable the hybrid drive proves.

Waved a sad goodbye to my bi-fuel Sandero last Friday after 2 years/43000 Km. After a number of Sanderos and Dusters (and 1 Dokker) between myself and my wife I decided to trade it in for... A Mazda CX 60 PHEV, a very different beast... All our Dacias to date have been flawless, bar a faulty O2 sensor on my wife's Dokker (fixed under warranty). People sneer, but they suit our needs perfectly, reliable, cheap to buy and run, fairly reasonable degree of confort, oustanding cars😊

I went on a Jogger test drive with my ‘06 Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3. When I went back to my car, this is when the Jogger magic went off, but I still love this model. I only need bigger engine, even in the video I was hoping he did not peel off when joining the traffic. This kind of machines need to run smooth like a train.

  • @BuckleUpShow

    @BuckleUpShow

    8 ай бұрын

The Grand Voyager is a horrible car, the interior is nasty, the engine is a boat anchor and it comes with a lethargic four speed auto so not only is it slow but it's also very thirsty. 3.3 litres to make less than 180 horsepower and a 0-62 time of 12.6 seconds, Nealy a second slower than the Dacia. Now I get that a manual with a heavily turbocharged 3 cylinder engine isn't going to be as smooth as a tragic Chrysler, in which case I would point you in the direction of the Hybrid. It also has four speeds but since it was designed in this century it's capable of selecting them without a telegram being sent and because of the hybridisation it's both quick and fuel efficient.

I got to chip in as well. I own 2023 Jogger Extreme. I got it in March last year and by end of March 2024 I have covered nearly 12k miles. Last year we took it for the trip all the way from Sheffield to St Tropez, later same year we drove to Poland and back. So half of the mileage is motorway. It's two of us adults and two kids. The car handles perfectly, drives well on a motorway. It's not a racing car and we tend to tour at around 75-78 mph with a roof box on top. Back seats are generally in the garage. Most of the time we have a dog cage at the back but there is still plenty of space for a plug-in fridge and luggage. Very practical for trips to B&Q or Ikea. It was for a service recently and there were no amber or red indications. All good.

It only had one severe engine fault where the engine light stayed on and it cut off from overheating (very hot summer in Portugal) but it was fixed fairly cheaply and quickly. Apparently a temperature sensor was malfunctioning and was replaced. Other than that, I have one pet peeve which is that the engine is kinda jerky at low speeds, especially when I first turn it on. I've had my khaki Eco-G Expression model for a month, now and I love it. It's cheap and chunky, robust and immensely practical. Here in PT LPG is a third the cost of petrol (0.7€/litre) and I get 30mpg (so, basically, a 50% saving). I've climbed a 6500 foot mountain seven up with no discernible difference in performance (and only a slight increase in consumption). I didn't get a phone holder either, but it would have been in a stupid place anyway, and I've used a swivel magnet holder under the opposite side middle A/C vent. Handling is rolly but fun, and no worse than a high end SUV, and I've even found it relatively grippy off-road (though I don't love the Continental tyres it comes with). Overall, like the man said, why would anyone NOT buy a Jogger?!?

I have a Duster. I drive a bit less, so it lost the new car feeling at approximately 7 year margin. You should still find yours exactly the same after 4 years. The first real problem came when the car was 9 years old - power steering fluid pipe developed a leak after coming to contact with the skid plate. Got that fixed for less than 200. The next problems were with back brakes at 11 years after I left the car in a snowbank for a month with the hand brake on, and then front brake disks in spring after a real hard brake test forced on me on a motorway by two deer that decided to go back after having already passed. Total cost just over 300. Year 12 replaced two parts of the exhaust pipe for ~100. So ~600 in repair costs over 12 years. Ugh, add 50 for a new battery year 10 or so. That's less than I've paid for tyres and windscreen wipers over the same time.

Some inaccuracies - you can turn the car off via the screen. You can switch through drive modes using * button on steering wheel. You can use voice commands to set temperature and fan speed should you so wish. Charging in 30 mins 10 to 80% Apart from that all good 👍

How did you get that economy figure? I have had a one litre Jogger for the same time as you and it averages 49 to 55 mpg in local use. I drove back from Liverpool to Cambridge yesterday (one up) and got 64mpg! I calculate consumption by measuring fuel used, rather than using the trip computer and originally I thought the odometer was vastly overreading but it turned out to be pretty much bang on. As with yours, nothing has gone wrong, but the driving experience is fairly average (but not bad by any means). Since I bought it purely for its practicality and I have another car for fun, I don't care very much about the driving dynamics anyway. It replaced a BMW 225XE which was literally twice the price, not much better to drive, and far less practical. The Jogger is one of the best vehicles (not in quality, but to live with) that I have ever owned and I will probably replace it with another if it's still available.
