    Really enjoyed this video, Audi and Duster surprised me how capable they were, the diesel engine in a Jimny really transforms its offroad performance, a friend of mine had a Suzuki SJ 413 with a 1.3 litre petrol engine and it was good offroad, he put in a VW 1.9 litre SDi and it totally transformed it offroad, better down hill engine breaking and up hills in 1 sometimes 2 gears higher! keep up the good work.

    The funny thing is, the Jimny has the same engine as the Duster (give or take a few HP)

    The q5 is a very good car for offroading if done properly even though is not marketing as such. When i say very good, i mean it will take you to 90% percent of places you need to go and more. It has a very reliable torquy diesel engine either with 2.0 ir 3.0 displacement, double widh bone suspension which most people think it only enhances the on road dynamics ,but it also gives more articulation and it has acenter torcen c diff witch is a modified mechanical torque differencial far superior than any bs clutch based differential, with electronically controled locking funtion(short off, it doesnt exactly lock the axels into moving in the same speed but it has the same result in terms of torque distirbution under loss of load). All these are a good start. From there you can buy a second set of smaller wheels and tyres to put a AT tire on, add some skid plates from protection, and add a rear wavetrck diff witch again is a modified mechanical speed sensing torque diff. last thing you can do, is either lift it in a pasive way, like taller springs, which will kinda ruin the dynamics of the car and put extra permanent stress on the cars suspention joints, or have an adjustbale height system like air suspension r even better a variable ratio metal spring like the on lexus lx570 uses. With these upgrades, i dont see many people needing anything more capable. have a set of wheels with performace tyres too and the dual wishbone syspention and the rear biased awd system wiht the read torque diff will do wonders in terms of hnadling on the twistes as well.

    What is your opinion - is stock q5 good car for "light" offroad conditions? With better AT tires will it be reliable vehicle to casual offroading?

    It is very good for off roading, awesome traction and the car feels very safe and controlled you are however limited with ground clearance.

    I'll add my two cents. Keep a different set of rims for the A/T tyres if you choose to go with that. I've been using A/T as a daily for my Touareg and there's a lot more noise and the fuel consumption has gone up by, I'd say, 1-1.5 litres.

    Next vídeo, Duster vs l. Urus vs l.r. Defender ?! I don't get this vídeos. Of course the off-road capabilities of the 3 cars are very different. Anyone expect other result?? Lets try a bentayga or urus vs a unimog? You cannot compare what isn't comparable...

    1. Jimny - has Lo-4WD, best approach and departure angles, and best ground clearance. 2. Duster - doesn't have the Lo-4WD which really demanding off-road might require. 3. Q5 - doesn't really belong there, it's out of its comfort zone, which is roads.

    dyster: has a clutch based front biased center diff basically shit for offroading cause 1)it will eventually overheat 2) only sents 50% of the torque at the rear reactively unless you "lock" the diff which makes the overheating quicker. jimny: does not have a lot of ground clearence unless you modify it. It basically shit for any other use exept from off roading. Has a tranfer case so you cant be in 4wd all the time, though because the jimny is small and thus manuverable it doesnt mater as much but it still puts a lot of stress on the cars suspention joints, driveshaftst etc.
