perfect video ! Haven't seen anything close to this one (filming standard maintenance procedures in official service center)..great. In terms of prices, here the OEM Renault oil filter they charge 14€, 4.8 litre of Solaris DPF 5w30 71€, cabin air filter 21€, air filter 24€...all parts OEM. The video confirms (I was not really sure until now) that metal shield is removed prior to unscrewing oil sump bolt (btw, diesels always quickly change oil from freshly yellow to black....not relevant for assessing the oil condition). Secondly, it's amazing how same engine (K9K in Duster 2 2018) has two oil filter versions/fittings). In my dci 110 hp it is the other type (integral) and accessed from above. All in all, yes, prices vary and they are always "pricey" at the dealers, but, as always, if the dealer is a solid one and you have peace of mind that they are doing solid job...and especially if you are under warranty (like myself too), go for it...not a crazy expensive investment. One thing is still something I am not really sure - oil change intervals. Dacia clearly states 20 000 km (with precisely defined type of Elf oil for this type of engine) while you can read various opinions and intervals shortened by half. I guess it really is a puzzle but would be idiotic from the company to even issue an extended guarantee and still keep the 20 kkm (or 1-year) oil change interval (for standard driving conditions). Very informative video..... again :-)

@@andreasbrandstetter9221 well, for this particular version of Duster (video above) I don't know (shape and size). As I wrote in my comment, I have the same engine (K9K) but another version (658) where filter is screwed from above...also, mine takes 4,5 liters of oil...also, mines requires the "old" Renault standard RN0720, not the newer RN17 that the engine above takes....and many, many more things I learned in the past three years (now at 126 000 km). I suggest you take an effort and remove the engine shield and check what size of oil filter it is....one thing is diameter, the second is how many "dents" it has.....for the tool to fit snugly.

I had full service last month - paid 660 PLN (1/4 average monthly salary in PL) (150 EUR) (oil change, cabin air filter, new oil filter and all things like brake pads check etc.)

Why at the beginning of trying to remove the oil filter does the filter wrench hit the stabilizer bar and then there is a lot of space between the oil filter and the stabilizer bar? Did you move the stabilizer bar to make it easier to remove the oil filter? Thank you.

à mon avis pas besoin de cloche car sur le support filtre se trouve parfois une forme hexagonale pour y placer une clé, jette un oeil..

anche in Romania vendono al pubblico l'olio motore molto caro !!! Rispetto al prezzo che si trova a comperarlo in commercio !!

@@DusterCoolTravels you can find the size with the help of using digital caliper Scale.

Looking at a 2020 Dacia Duster 130Tce, Talked to the salesman and he said it has it first service at 32000km, The car now stands at 45000km, He said this is normal interval but seems a bit long? normally for my old car i change it after max 15000km. Can i find the service intervals anywhere? Thanks! :)

Yes, according to the service manual, the service intervals are very long. At a diesel it’s 20.000 km. They say the new oil is much more durable, which is why they recommend these long intervals between the change. Usually I change it at around 15000 km as well. When you go off-roading the oil gets a premature wear also.

I change oil at 7-8'000 kms. Could drive up to 10'000 kms if there's a lot of highway driving. But no more then that as any oil starts degrading dramatically after about 250 hours of engine work. PS. Do you have part numbers for oil filter and fuel filter? :)

@@vladgeorge7467, I'm ok with brands and I see OE are Mahle and Purflux made. Also WIX air filters work pretty well. I'm interested with part numbers by any manufacturer (OE, Mahle, Mann, any of them). It's diesel k9k.

Can you tell me what kind of cup key it takes for this type of filters?

I think it's a normal price range for the maintenance service. Of course, if you buy parts and do the replacement work in other place than the dealership service it might be half the price but you can have trouble with the car's warranty in case you choose to do that..

on my Duster 2018 (1.5dci) the oil-filter has to be replaced from the top side of the motor, not from below as shown in this video. And from top it is more difficult. Would be nice if you could show this in other video. Thanks & regards Frank

This said DPI , so no adbue . My filter is in the same as here on my 2018 but it’s a new model . You might have the older model . Thanks for this video guys . Mine is in for service 2 on Tuesday

oil filter cartridge removal tool is 64mm (14 flats) 901. (5 quid on ebay). purflux filter renault 152092567R, pollen filter LA923, hope that helps some people!

Duster Cool Travels you will not lose warranty! You can use yours filters but they have to change it. I have on my Duster 18kkm at 20kkm it will be my 3rd oil change. First at 2kkm 2nd 10kkm. It cost me €35 Just for service and they filter, oil Im buying in Germany around €40 with shipping to Poland. In service i would pay for every time €150. Merry Christmas 🎁

Duster Cool Travels I don’t think we will have. I have two friends working to apk/mot centers ( periodical ministry check you know). First generation Dusters don’t show any sign of rust after 100k kilometers or 6-8 years of ownership. I live by the sea also.

7 euro for an air filter replacement seems to me very expensive. This operation last max 1 minute Beeing this said, many autoshops are changing the oil for free if you buy it from them. Neverless all the operation were made corectly.

Poorly desighned engin, a spin on oil and fuel filter would be better, and put them where they are easy to get at. Oil should be changed every 10,000km or sooner, what does it say in the owners manual? Where does the cabin filter go! The only easy access was the air filter. Not impressed with the Duster! Maintenance sould be easy.

Remove a torsion bar for an oil filter change. That is terrible design. Maybe try a different tool.

on my last service, the mechanic remove the screw that holds the engine at the base and was able to move the oil filter backwards just enough to remove it. much easier this time.

Lol the engine contains maximum 4.6 liter of oil with the oil filter for the 1.5 dci and you billed 6 liters....wtf

My duster is the ad-blue version and this engine needs 5.5 l.
