I love this trumpet! I still prefer my custom made Adams A4 LT-S as my all-time favorite, but the Unica is magnificent. The valves are the absolute best ever. The Adams is an open-blowing ML, almost L bore like, while the Unica blow is more typical of a ML bore trumpet. It is the intonation, slotting and ease with which this horn plays that makes it such a star. I have used it exclusively at gigs for the last few months and everyone loves the sound while I just find it a total joy to play. I have absolute confidence playing it and am so happy I purchased this DaCarbo! My only issue is that because it has a tighter 'blow' than my other trumpets, I start to notice that resistance after an hour or more playing a long gig.

@@blainekelley816 I’m up in Akron and would love to give it a blow sometime if I’m down your direction. I just wonder if it would be a good lead horn? Does it speak and carry out over the band like a Lotus, a Bach 43 or the beryllium Zeno trumpet?

I think it blends well in a section of trumpets. I’m not a lead player, so I don’t know if it has the overall sizzle desired/needed, but I think it can ‘do it all’.

Da carbo tone is dead not like the normal metal trumpet ringing when hit the high notes. That is my opinion only.

Appreciate your viewing and comment. Old iPhone mic has a lot to do with that on this video. Do not you have experience hearing one live? Listening to Arturo play his DaCarbo doesn’t sound dead to me.
