First, his form is incredible. So smooth and no caving in the upper body at all. I'm jealous. Next, that is a very nice gym.

THANK YOU!!! Someone FINALLY got it! I would also have said that without hypertrophy of the type I muscle fibers, there is less inter-fiber friction, but yea your answer was finally the intelligent one I was looking for. Your post is made of awesome and win.

Great vid! You have to be very strong to do that and have great core strength as well to keep you stable and upright through the lift. I struggle to do front squats with my grip on the bar but I'm working on it. Very strong guy awesome!

@Obsidian1392 yes, when recover from the clean it is a front squat, you`re right in that sense- as in snatch it is an overhead squat-but we refer to the front squats as seen here out off the rack just as the back squat as accessory work or assistance movements- even though the movement is part of the competition lift- a clean without the jerk or the jerk off the rack is therefore an assistance movement in a way

Truly beautiful front squats, in terms of depth and smoothness. I'm in awe of his strength. Interesting that his left elbow remains so low, yet he clearly has no problem handling 440lbs in the rack position! The only thing I have in common with this guy is those Inzer wrist wraps!

@Obsidian1392 I think the reson they don't put clips on is so that if you do get overwhelmed with the weight of it you can tip it to the side and let the weights fall off and then just ease the ther half of the weights to the ground as opposed to collapse under the weights, also without clips you've got to focus more on keeping a straight non twisting form,

5 perfect maximum depth beautifully controlled 200kg front squats at 10st 12lb bodyweight. It would be great to see him causally walk into my gym and reproduce this in front of the regulars. Very motivational. Oh to be an elite level olympic lifter for a day. I either watch this or Galabin Boevski, another elite 69kg olympic lifter squatting on you tube before setting off to the gym on leg days. Hugely inspirational.

I attempted front squats for the first time today, nothing heavy as I need to get my form and technique right first. Where I went wrong straight away was I was actually holding the bar in my hands with my wrists bent backwards, very very uncomfortable as you can imagine. Basically what id like to know please is where the bar should sit. It looks like top of chest and arms, want to get it right so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Finally well done to the chap

@thabest1995 no problem man. and concerning the grip : as you can see, dabaya also just has the middle and index finger in contact to the bar. you dont have to grab it with all 5 fingers ( even 4 would be hard for me to do). some advanced weightlifters may fully grip it that way, but to prevent the bar from rolling down your shoulders, two fingers are enough

@thabest1995 the points are : flexibility, and routine. I had the same problem like you at the beginning. as soon as you are used to grip the bar like in the video, you will feel quite comfortable with it.

@zeboink I've heard that it's possible to stretch out the abs by doing heavy deadlifts and squats without a belt. Do you know if there is any truth behind this? I'm kinda worried since I'm new to powerlifting and going really heavy already. I've been told not to use a belt, but I'm not sure... Wouldn't want a permanent belly.
