Now that's the sign of a well maintained machine. Sitting inside a shed for 6 months, and after a quick check of fluids it gets about a half turn on the starter and it pops right off!

Im impressed. Dozer sat for 6 months, cranked strong and no wasps flew out. I can leave my tractor sitting 2 days and I'll have 3 wasp nests and at least 1 bird nest built on it.🤣

Those old caterpillar bulldozers are good machines, they just need a little tlc from time to time. I spent a lot of time on a D8 back in the 80s clearing trees and stumps with a cutting blade mostly in Illinois and Missouri for a local paper mill in Wickliffe, KY. My grandpa had 3 D8 Caterpillar bulldozers, two were used to clear land for the paper mill and 1 strictly did dirt work mostly in Western Kentucky.

Hearing the sound of your dozer takes me back to my childhood. In the early sixties, I lived half a block away from where the 605 freeway (SoCal) was being built. My friend and I would spend hours watching the bottom dumps, dozers, earthmovers and compactors moving back and forth. Ahh to be young and so easily entertained. My wife keeps reminding me I’m now retired but that doesn’t work too well.😂

Never be leery of buying equipment from Clint and the boys. It will be as near to new condition as can be economicaly done without cutting corners. If rebuild cannot be reasonably done then there is always room for parts. These machines are getting old enough that having parts units is cost effective.
