Although I just had a bung installed on my exhaust ready for an EGT gauge I still can't find a good position to mount one... legally. It's good to know I can relate coolant temps to egt's now. Looks like I'll be purchasing a scan gauge 👌

Thanks Anthony! Good to know info, my 1kd runs a 5 speed standard trans. I towed once in 5th gear but after hearing your info I stay in 4th now and watch my temps. 👍

Even the cummins and duramax in the states are cracking pistons, exactly the same way and same place as the 1kd.
