Tatiana "Tati" Shmayluk, is a beast. She has a rare gift. Not only does she have a voice of an angel, but she can growl like a demon. She is special, because her normal singer voice is way above average, not many better out there. But, she also as total control of her false vocal chords (or folds), this allow her to do her scream without damaging her voice. Notice you see no tension on her throat no matter which way she is singing. I'm 60, I am a Die Hard RUSH fan, but I have always had an eclectic taste in music. I didn't become a father till I was 40, so my 20 year old son and I love sharing music. We had the pleasure of seeing Jinjer open for Disturbed in Dallas last year.

Howdy from another big Rush fan! For my 62nd birthday I'm flying to Milwaukee to see Jinjer in two days! I wish I could take my daughter Sierra. She's a huge Rush fan too, we've seen them live many times together. She likes Jinjer, but hasn't seen them live yet. I hope you and your son get a chance to see Jinjer headlining. I've seen them twice at small venues. Both times I got very close, close enough to make eye contact with the the band. They're special. One of the very few bands I've seen who remind me of Rush in their musicianship, integrity, passion, dedication, and live ethic. Cheers brother!

They are from Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, the part annexed by Russia in 2014. Tatiana is mostly self taught, some post production with layers but that is all her. The live session was a redone version of an older song, redone to showcase Vlad on drums who had joined not long before this. He is classically trained on piano and self taught on drums. He, Roman (guitar) and Eugene (bass) are all awesome musicians, they write the music and Tati writes most of the lyrics. The song is referring to the astrological sign , the symbol for which is 2 fish swimming in opposite directions, duality is the key word in this. Eugene helped Tati finish up the lyrics for this song, they are both Pisces. Most want to see her do it live next, "Perennial" at Wacken 2019 or "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev to do that. "Home Back" is about the fighting in their homeland in 2014.

Welcome to the awesome greatness that is Jinjer. If you choose to delve deeper there are many unexpected twists and turns with this band. Firstly, pay attention to the lyrics. Tatiana is a gifted writer that happens to have earned a university degree in literature. Looking forward to your journey if you decide to go down that rabbit hole. I've seen them live twice thus far and "live" is where they shine brightest. 🤘Cheers.

Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.... tati usually employs false chord screaming technique and is an amazing high pitch screamer and super low growler along with great cleans and belting.....she does it all 😂😂😂😂 Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) Jinjer - Perennial (Live At Wacken 2019) Jinjer - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - On The Top (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Official Live) Jinjer - Judgement & Punishment (Tatiana One Take Vocal) Jinjer - Teacher Teacher (Official Video) Jinjer - Captain Clock (Live at Resurrection Fest 2018) Jinjer - Cloud Factory (Official Video) Jinjer - Outlander (failure .color Video) Jinjer - No Hoard of Value (Official Lyrics Video) Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy (Official Video) Jinjer - Vortex (Official Video) Jinjer - Wallflower (Official Video) Jinjer - Mediator (Official Video) Jinjer - Disclosure (Official Video) Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Video) Jinjer - Live At Wacken 2023

To put Tatiana's growls into perspective, she'd been growling for half her life at that point, after starting to learn at 15. That said, there is some editing in post, per the video description. I'd always recommend a concert video next, with Perennial live at Wacken being a great choice. Subbed. Cheers!

This is where we go down the well-known Jinjer rabbit hole path with this song like millions of others... I discovered it for the first time in 2012 live Jinjer in Bulgaria on a small stage! And nothing against other bands from the heavy metal genre and especially with a female front woman & singer, but it's about the range, versatility of techniques, voice, extremely deep, clean grunting for a woman like no other can, being able to sing other genres vocally like RnB, hip hop rapping, pop, blues, reggae combined with their own Jinjer Metal styles from earlier metalcore, trash metal, nu metal and other types of metal - hard rock, all mixed! And the strawberry on top is the absolutely unique unicorn 🦄 and powerhouse bad 🍑 girl Tatjana who simply leaves everyone speechless live! The entire band, Roman, Eugene and Vlad are absolute masters of their instruments and have mastered the craft of music, instrument etc. perfectly without like other bands Unfortunately.... Spirit..... Computer generated sound and effects, support of software the bass, The guitar and drums only play a little bit on stage, the rest is all played back from the computer studio data, that's a joke at a live concert! Not with Jinjer, they play everything live, sometimes even better than in the studio... Here are some links of all the songs in order in various versions!!! I'll probably add to the list next year, i.e. more likely at the end / autumn of 2024 when Jinjer starts in the studio with the planned new album! Greetings from 🇨🇭😉🤘🏼

I discovered Jinjer a few years ago from watching Elizabeth Zharoff's channel (Charismatic Voice). I instantly fell in love with them. I'm not usually a metal guy. But there is something about them that is instantly intriguing. The band is super tight. Obviously Tati is the main attraction, but the rest of them are amazing at what they do. And selfless. There's no solos, no "hey look at me". They are just the ultimate synergetic band, where they truly equal more than the sum of their parts.

🔥Welcome to the Jinjer family, D'N'A! I just found your channel, saw your Jinjer reaction and subbed, great reaction! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, how down to earth they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics! The first time I heard Pisces in 2019, I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band (Pisces has been my wake up alarm for a few years and I still love it more every time I hear it, snooze is a thing of the past). TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂 Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs! My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣 All four current members of Jinjer have essentially no formal musical training except Vlad the drummer who studied classical piano. For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and classical piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the latest album Wallflowers. Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs. Jinjer has been a tour-heavy band, touring almost nonstop from 2013 to 2020 and much of the time since then (with interruptions by covid and the US backed coup/proxy war), hard work that has made them fantastic live performers. The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine (Donetsk) in 2008 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members and you can see their former guitarist turned actor, Dmitry Oksen, in older videos on guitar and a more recent video (Disclosure) playing an interrogator. One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, Dip A Sail, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that could do well together in one reaction if you're so inclined). I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken 2019, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Thank you, D'N'A! I hope you'll keep trying out more Jinjer songs and enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

I have seen folks recoil when she does that like they are frightened!! I guess maybe they were. May I suggest you two locate and review Jinjer at Wacken performing Pieces. It is killer!!!!!!

The young Tatiana (vocalist) was inspired by hearing a track with growling on it, then being amazed that the vocals were from a woman. She learned to growl (extreme vocals) and deliberately practiced to get a deeper sound. It took some years, as you might expect. Her range goes a bit below what you hear in this track.

I've enjoyed watching the two of you discover NF, Ren, and Jinjer. If you want a surprise like these, try out something from The Hu -- like Wolf Totem is one many people see first. They are a smash up of Mongolian throat singing and metal. They even have a song featuring Izzy Hale of Haelstorm and another with the dude from Papa Roach. It's fun, different stuff.

Definitely check out their live performance of "Perennial" at Wacken. It's more impressive than this in my opinion because it's the last song of their set, and she is winded - yet she still manages to go feral on stage and bounce back and forth repeatedly from singing to screaming with no build up. I'm not convinced any member of Jinjer is human.

Tatiana is a Pisces. The song is about swimming upstream looking for light and love only to be caught and killed by handsome butchers. When the war in their home Ukraine started they all volunteered. They were told to continue touring and support the cause. Should have kept her. She would have won some battles just by scaring the hell out of the enemy.

But on a side note...if you genuinely want to learn how to scream, Will Ramos (lead singer of Lorna Shore) actually has a few videos teaching and explaining how to do it safely...so you don't damage your voice in the learning process.

Please do Vortex by Jinjer next - I think it's their best song and has a bit of everything. Can't go too wrong with Jinjer, but everyone goes to Perennial or Teacher Teacher next and I think Vortex is a better representation of what they can do. Home Back is great, I love Judgement & Punishment too. But either way keep going with them, they're fantastic.

Y'all could totally learn to sing like her! You wouldn't sound just like her because everyone's bodies are different, but you could still learn to use the same techniques and after a lot of practice get a very similar sound! Women are just as capable as men when it comes to being able to do these lower pitched screams (just as men are just as capable of doing higher pitched ones). And she makes it look easy and effortless because she's incredibly good at what she does! 😂 But also, it doesn't require any real straining to do, it's about as strenuous as regular singing is. If you see videos of someone screaming and they look super strained or angry or something, it's either due to theatrics or bad vocal technique (which can do damage to your vocal cords).
