TheDude I never went to the military. But I fly my flag every day to let them know I love them for what they did went to Germany. Went to a cemetery where many lay in peace saw general Patton’s grave. I shake veterans. Hands when I see them god bless them all living and dead🇺🇸

TheDude I love all my military people when I look at. Veterans. Of the wars it makes me sit alone and cry O yes my flag flies every day of the year thank you love you from bottom of my heart🇺🇸

My grandfather was there that day. 101st Airborne, "Screaming Eagles." His chute malfunctioned and he hit the ground hard, breaking both of his ankles. He still rose to his feet and did his duty as a soldier, fighting through the pain. He went on to serve in Korea and Vietnam as well, with over 30 years as a soldier. He's the greatest man I ever knew. We don't need more comic books or movies about superheroes, we need to tell more stories about the regular, ordinary, everyday men who answered the call and decided that they were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Duty, honor, country. That's what it's all about. I miss you Papa, hope you're partying and throwing back drinks in Valhalla.

My grandfather served in the wehrmacht from 36 till 44, did 51 missions. he is a hero

My Great Grandfather also went to WW2, but he was in one of the worst units that had some of the most casualties in the war. I forgot what it was called though.

um maybe that's why we want to join, to hold and maintain their Legacy and not let it down by one bit, we know the fought against evil, they were normal people like us who just got the call for duty to defend America, doing one small thing can lead to a bigger action and maybe we don't want to be heroes (i personally don't) or maybe not but everyone that enlist or doing some courageous things in life are heroes....my definition of it

I teared up when he was standing in the cemetery... my brother's a marine. Anyone in the military can have this happen to them. It's a shame we live in a world where some people love and breed hate that builds up to the point of war.. And then there are some who despise fighting a war with a burning passion. There are only a few of them though. They are the people who have mustered up the courage to fight and stop the war. They are heroes... Sadly, I can't be one of them do to medical issues that happened a few years back, but I still have hope that the military will never fail to protect us citizens of their country. Thank you if you took your time to read this and God bless!

Survivors guilt. My Great Uncle faught in WWII and he and only one other guy from his platoon survived a battle in the Pacific, he always thought of himself as a coward for surviving, but in reality he was a hero. It's a shame he passed on before I was born.

I was wondering if you would know your Great Uncle’s platoon name because I have a friend that said his Great Grandfather served in World War II and was one of the two that was still alive in his Platoon in the Pacific. (I think I’m terribly sorry if I am mistaken)

My husband’s step-grandfather was lucky enough to be evacuated from Dunkirk. I wish I could have met him and been able to ask if he could tell me about it.

Same with my father in law. He never talks much about what happened. He told his wife "I don't know how he survives and his buddies didn't and able to come home and many did not. He served in 3rd infantry 7th regiment under Gen. Patton. He always cries when he heard the tap. He passed away at 84 in 2003

my grandpa was 18 when he went to D-Day.. just passed away 2 years ago, weird how we didn't have alot of family.. but that day, they're was hundred's of people. R.I.P

Adrian Marley yea my great grandpa was 18 when he went in WW1 and we was also in WW2 and he was born in 1916 and he sadly died in 2013 and was 97 almost 98 so i is still very hard to watch these videos bc i was very close to him and wish he was still here R.I.P and thanks for your sevice men and women

as a 15yr old my dream is to also once jump out of an c47 Dakota to commemorate the soldiers that have died to keep my grand parents alive and to honor all the soldiers that have fought in ww2 allies and axis. may god rest the souls of the heroes that have laid there graves beneath us.

I can't imagine what this man felt when he got on board the same plane that he jumped out of over Normandy 70 years prior. This whole thing is simply amazing. This man and other like him truly were the "greatest generation."

Old war horse and old war bird!! That was the perfect description. Just the respect that was shown. I can’t imagine what he felt seeing his friend there all those years later. All I can say is thank you all for your sacrifice and service!

It will be so sad when the last of these veterans go. These heroes won’t be able to pass on there stories anymore

My great grandfather was in WW2. He was in the infantry and he has a bronze star and a Purple Heart. To this day I wish I could’ve asked home more when he died in 2014. I still look up to these men who gave their lives for us. Just a couple days ago I was working at a church fish fry and a WW2 veteran was there. And I thanked him for his service. (This is what made me tear up). He said he would be glad to serve our country again. Thank you to all the veterans who served us and gave our lives for us. ❤️

There's a reason they are known as the Greatest Generation.

You can tell it still haunts him, the way he answered the reporter was very short. He was brushing him off. "Does it make you feel better to finally close that chapter?" "Yea... Sure..."

My grandpa was part of the forces that landed in Normandy. Wasn't until a few years ago I learned that and on my mom's side her mom's cousin was killed on the Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor. Learning these brings how your family was part of history.

very precious capture of these decorated veterans re-visiting what were history changing days for them and our country's future, so glad they were provided the opportunity...even if it was subsidized by the media to experience in a time of peace where they were directed to fight on those days of the initial landings. many thanks to all Allied service members from here for your service and bravery during those days.

My Husband Was There On The Battleship USS. Nevada PROUD!

When he said but I doubt it that tore me to the gut God bless this man many blessings bestow upon him for all the hardship he endured I had to witness a burn in at Fort McClellan years ago and it was one of the hardest things I've ever seen in my life. To this day I still see that boy's face God bless anyone who picks up a rifle to defend their country regardless of who they are.

I was at a military timeline expo and the plane whiskey 7 was there and flying, it was really cool cool to see an original plane that flew numerous runs over Normandy

My dad went back to the Lord 2 years ago. He was 95. He was part of the Bomber Group out of Adak, Alaska attacking Japan. He was shot down over Russia and was interned. Russia was a neutral county in our fight with Japan. Not too many still around from WW2. they will live in honor for all eternity.

If it wasn´t for 1st battalion 16th infantry regiment iron rangers, and 1st infantry division, I would´t even exist today. My grandmother would have been annihilated in concentration camp like the rest of my relatives. I owe these men my life. Thank you for your service troops! My great grandpa passed in 2013 and was in normandy. trying to find his medals also had a great uncle who was in ww2 not sure which battle though all i konw is he had 2 purple hearts.

81 thumbs down. WTF. my dad was 20 when he went to England in 1943. he was a right waist gunner on a B-24 Liberator that did 25 combat missions. I followed in his foot steps and served 4 years in the army during Viet Nam. To me you 81 people make me sick. Shame on you all.

I was always told my uncle landed on that beach but come to find out . He was in the airborne division and he actually parachuted out behind enemy lines . They were planning to take them from both sides . Unfortunately he did get killed 3 days after the other troops landed ..
