Arachine Atzeer I wasn't even a part of this group and I'm going "ooooh noooooooooo, oh nooo..." Not even with a level 20 draconic bloodline sorcerer with levels in a prestige class would I want to fight a regular dragon, let alone the soul of a dead dragon I already killed. Maybe if my sorcerer was able to turn into a dragon, maybe I'd be willing to intentionally fight a dragon. Because two dragons going at it is a sight all should see.

I mean, I'm a newer dm, and I've laid out in my head the content for (meeting weekly, side note) at least the next 3 months, and the general idea for the content up to roughly level 14 or so. With them gaining a level once a month or so

"dubious" refers to the observations being my personal experience, so not necessarily to be considered the exemplary norm'... Obviously certain settings promote the "unknowable levels of bullshittitude" more than others... in RPG's like CoC, D&D, and SpellJammer, or Traveller 2K, to name just a few... BUT in any such scenario, it simply wouldn't be interesting to wander about an ordinary world doing ordinary things... at least, probably not to most avid gamers. I seem to remember a Japanese RPG like that (more or less?) serving up more "slice of life" kinds of stories and plotlines... in case you're interested (or hopelessly infected with insomnia... lolz). ;o)

@@gnarthdarkanen7464 Who's complaining? I've been a gamer for over 20 years and bullshit isn't always a bad thing, it just happens. I was just thinking how it's not a gaming session until I hear my cousin yell out "this is bullshit!" 5 or 6 times a night at our weekly, usually with everyone laughing at the situation. Yeah, sometimes it IS just a pile of horrible smelling shite but other times, it's just part of gaming.

@@Zarvain Nobody's complaining... I was clarifying... and point-by-point to be sure and get the details precisely. As I pointed out, "bullshittery" is part of RPG's in general (at least in my experience... and probably more than just me)... At many a table, you only begin to understand you're really exploring the world-build of the GM when someone at the table has found "I dunno... some bullshit..." because there's really no other good way to explain it in the moment. Or some other "battle cry" proclaims something like, "What breed of bullshit is this?" OR "I think it's shit... probably bull...ish" AND yeah, usually everyone has a laugh about it... at our table(s) it tends to get a BIGGER roll of giggles when it is a large smelly pile of excrement. ...of course, we've never taken a great deal of pride about "being normal". ;o)

Now that Dark Crystal thing makes me wonder: What if a Foreclaimer had a Dark Crystal as an energy source? Would they be remorseful in the deaths of those around them, or apathetic towards death? Mr. Wizardly’s name just reminded me of a PC from one of my DM’s other campaigns. My group met him in a town we traveled through. His name is “maximum magic man Maximillius.” He’s crazy. We love him.

Wouldn’t that require the tongue being present when the scroll was used? I’ve never actually played D&D myself (I mostly spectate my friends) and definitely don’t know anything about 3.5 edition, so I am a bit fuzzy on such details as how various spells work

I love those kind of threats. My party once had a barbarian that REALLY got on my sorcerers nerves. Like, hed call my dragonborn "lizard man". I just remember one time snapping at him, pointing to our partys necromancer and yelling "Say that one more time and no amount of necromancy on this plane will fix what I do to you".........he said it again. Because I was a bulky sorcerer with teleport and expeditious retreat, after the first turn, hed never hit me again. The only think that saved him was our giant constrictor snake druid breaking things up
