D Amore Class AB amps at an extremely high level designer TONY behind it all at A'MORE

Спорт

I had a chance to talk with Tony A'MORE the chief designer behind all things at D'AMORE. This guy creates nothing but high-end solutions for the car audio world and more if you dig deep enough.
Hes not just a designer developer, engineer but also a master tech , teacher and so so much more.

This is a video about the new range of Class A/B hi-fi amplifiers from More Engineering. The host, Tony de Amore, who has a background in Electrical Engineering, talks about the innovative technology used in these amplifiers that allowed them to be shrunk down to the size of a CD case. The amplifiers have a front end input section that has gain and balance on balance, with a clipping LED. They also have a fully Class A amplifier about a 1 watt amplifier each channel, with one amplifier in each channel. The amplifiers are able to filter out unwanted signals while keeping everything that is needed. After the signal leaves the Class A amplifiers, it goes to the Class A/B current stage where all the devices do the heavy lifting and get hot. To deal with the heat, More Engineering came up with a solution like the heatsink with a whole bunch of fins, which has a lot of surface area and awesome ceramic isolators fan bolts. This amplifies cool air, gets all the heat, and then shoves it out underneath the circuit board and eventually out of the amplifier. The amplifiers can deliver 300-watt power, making it possible to have a two-channel amplifier with 300 Watts total power that can be bridged. More Engineering has six other models in the lineup, and they are planning to launch four of them by November, with the other models coming later.
In the video, Tony also talks about the More Engineering's line of hand tools, such as the distortion detector or the DD one, the DD one plus, the CC one, the AMM one, and the IMS G. These tools are used for setting amplifier gains, finding the head unit's maximum clean output signal, setting up the entire gain overlap of a system, measuring amplifier power, and finding rattles in a car, among others.
Tony also demonstrates the sound quality of the Class A/B amplifiers in a 2019 Volkswagen GTI rabbit edition. The car has six Class A/B amplifiers running the whole system, with three of them bridged running three 12-inch peerless subwoofers, one of them bridged running two seven-inch mid-bass in one door, and the other running the two seven-inch scan speak mid-bass in the other door. The last six amplifiers run stereo to these Brax ml 1 ml 2s, which are passively crossed over to each other. The car also has a basic Chinese sample DSP that does time alignment but not much else, and a Sony high res head unit.
Finally, Tony shows the installation of the amplifiers in the back of the car, where six of the 302 amplifiers are bridged, and a 300-watt class A/B two-channel amplifier is used. The amplifiers have a heatsink with a lot of surface area and ceramic isolators fan bolts to deal with the heat.

Finally someone explains amplifier classes in a way I can understand. When someone can explain their art in a way for anyone to understand shows how masterful they are in that field. Kick ass products.

A plus vid brother. I remember my first Amp install back in 92 was a lil 90w autotek amp. I held on to it cuz a bud of mine said it was a 300 dollar Amp. That's when I learned about true power and quality over quantity wattage. These in a different league! 👍

If he can put good quality nichicon and Panasonic capacitors inside his prototype amplifiers, he should've done the same thing inside his new e series class d amplifiers... Instead of using no name top cap Chinese capacitors.... I hope when Tony releases these class ab amps for mass market, he uses good caps like he did here...

Just an Idea but why are we still in the analog era? Your amps only have RCA inputs. No Optical or digital inputs. We should be running optical from head unit to dsp to amp. Not head unit to dsp and then RCA's from dsp to amps. Maybe have amps with built in dsp like JL audio or audio control.
