D'Addario Violin Strings | Everything You Need To Know

Музыка

D’Addario is widely known as one of the finest string designers in the world. Whatever stringed instrument you play, there’s a very good chance they have the perfect set for you. If you’re a violinist looking for a new set of strings, you may have heard of the Prelude, Ascente, and Helicore line of strings but may not know what makes each string different.

The thinner gauge of the Helicore Strings makes them easier to bow. Interestingly Ascente Strings are now available for Viola & there's also Debut Violin Strings.

I'm just wondering if the steel strings tend to easily damage the fingerboard than the rest of the strings

Thanks very much for your reply. I changed my D string for Helicore. I also purchased a better Rosin called SARTORY. I had been using Hidersine. Seemed to improve things? Next thing is to try your bow suggestion and improve my technique.

What model violin do you have? And what type of rosin do you recommend me using: light or dark?

My playing sounds too bright and 'trebley' What would you recommend for a warmer tone?

did u find a solution? my guesses would have been: synthetic core? maybe heavier gauge? maybe first try more angling of the bow or moving the contact point before spending actual money

How much do violin strings hurt your fingers? I like D'Addario strings. The preludes sounded much better. They are mello and don't scream at you. Thanks.

I will be buying an electric violin and I will put Helicore on it with a wound E.

Wound E Strings seem to hold up better on just about any Violin. Helicore Strings are generally easier to bow cause they're a bit thinner making them ideal for all types of Violins.

Thats why i dont reccoment these strings. These strings are for begginers. The better Ones are dominant strings, and pirastro strings!

You probably won't hear much difference unless you listen to them live. YT is not the best place to hear tone comparisons

Your microphone is quite bad in my opinion - the vocal quality is garbage - I've heard better pin mics.
