Maybe you could go back and do Dreamcatcher "Wind Blows Dance Practice and Poison Love Special Clip" in one reaction. Wind Blows has incredibly high energy and Poison Love will make you laugh.

Thanks for the video. Really enjoy your dance analysis. I agree with you about just seeing the girls kill it. It was really nice having their come back just be them. They showed that they are top tier even if it's just them! Did you happen to see their "Wind Blows" dance practice? That also has just them as well.

Nothing like a Tofu dance analysis to end the day :) Loved the insight as usual, and I did think that the dance was a bit simpler from the snippets we got in the music video, but when I saw the dance practice, oh boy I was wrong (the amount of formation changes!) Also some other things people pointed out: - In the beginning of the dance where they're holding hands and at Handong's bridge, the other people not in center are holding scissors in their hands (my mind exploded at this)! There's also the scissors during Gahyeon's part but that's more obvious. - The move where they have their hands above their head starting the chorus when they sing the "Be" of "because" is a reference to the Hanja character 悲 (pronounced "be", which means sadness). You can kind of see it where the hands are the 非 of the character and the 心 (meaning "heart") is where each member's heart is (which is below the hands). - In conclusion, Hwang Sooyeon is a genius.

I may have heard wrong, but the hand gesture during the 'BE' part is meant to represent the hanja/kanji 悲 (pronounced 'BE', for sadness).

You have not heard wrong. :) You can see the fingers making the top part 非 at BE, the side dots of 心 with CAUSE, and the middle two strokes with LIKE (or LOVE).

I really stan my queems gfriend and drecatcher, there a lot of details of choroes and they really shows it with precise movements.

I think it kinda pisses me off a bit that YG never bothered to invest time/training to bring everyone up closer to Lisa's level. I'm not even a blink and I'm just... like really YGE. (Ofc I've said that for 10 years or so, but that's beside the point)

@@aislin2989 I’m with you 100%! with the resources they have as a big 3 they absolutely could’ve gotten the other members closer to Lisa, but nope! I’ve had students walk into class with two left feet and walk out a few years down the road competing for trophies. Anyone can learn to be skilled. Sure natural talent will go a long way, but practice… practice can turn someone into a beast.

@@alexapark1217 I mean this is unfortunately due to YGE's consistent neglect and mismanagement of all of their girl groups, but it's like... this is just criminal tbh. (Jennie's missing notebook is even more criminal, and that they haven't effing fired Teddy is just a sin to me, but I guess musical tastes are musical tastes.) I mean the clear gap between Lisa + "everyone else" could be fixed with some training (and honestly should have been done before they even debuted) or just consistent working with Lisa would have fixed it. I'm pretty sure that Gahyeon and Handong both got some pretty intense dance training from the dance teachers there at HFE and prolly from Sua/Dami/Jiu too. Yoohyeon used to be called 'tree' because she was so stiff while dancing in the Minx days. Now she's out here basically being considered a lead dancer. Training and practice are everything. Even for natural talent, they gotta keep practicing to keep up.

@@aislin2989 Honestly you can't really blame if Lisa is that talented on dancing. It's just she's natural compare to other members. Maybe if YG coulda gotten other idols that is close to her skill set then it wouldn't have much gap. But seems like they are just gonna rely on member roles to do their part and ride with it. I think Lisa seems like a dancer who ended being on a singing group lol

@@fremzter I never said that I blamed her for having talent and skill. I fully blame YGE for not learning the lessons of their previous groups and not training the other members to get their skill levels higher before they even debuted. Let's put it like this - Dongie and Gahyeon both were trainees for less than 6 months. They had roughly 4 months to get all 7 members (one of whom was still learning Korean) completely in sync, teach them at least 4 dance pieces and 3 singing pieces (one of which would be dancing and singing bc Chase Me) with their hardest choreography with the expectations to be completely in sync, sing live, have their expressions be correct for the performance, etc. YGE had plenty of time. iirc BP's debut got pushed back a year or two. What the hell were they doing? If a company with far fewer resources and time could do it with a language barrier, there is zero excuse for one of the big 3 to have such giant gaps in skill levels between the 4 members other than laziness, incompetence, and neglect. (which is a consistent theme with YGE and its girl groups.)

These 21 minutes went by so fast!! Loved the breakdown as usual, very instructive! Ooooh Tofu comeback, nice!!! See you next week!

omg I literally got here so fast that it was still at 'no views' lmao You're right there's something about the grand spectacles with backup dancers and such, but there's also something about just the idols performing. I gotta agree with you about the 'main dancer + everyone else' vs Dreamcatcher with a small gap between Sua and the 'worst/weakest' dancer (I'm guessing Gahyeon? she seems to be the one most often pointed out as the weakest dancer, who like you said, is still a strong and capable dancer on her own) in abilities. There's *so* much Gahyeon center time and I love it. Also a fun thing about Dreamcatcher's sync: kzread.info/dash/bejne/epOV2sN8gqarddo.html It was proven with SCIENCE! (and maths lmao)

@@lauramarks2931 Same here, it's like 'yeah they're almost entirely in sync (almost bc there's always variation somewhere and the mirroring does hurt the algorithm a bit) and here's the maths to prove it' their difficulty score is also absurdly high (the only time it dropped was for their Bang x3 cover lol) Like sorry haters, it's not bias, it's just maths.

@@aislin2989 A nice showcase of Gahyeon's skill was posted just this week, though, with Dingo Mafia dance. Except for not realising what the start position was in the second round when they started from the middle, she did not mess up even once, keeping form and rhythm throughout the game, even with a completely different rhythm in her ears, even when she could not see anyone else and had to keep the rhythm with no reference. Even SuA, the #1 dancer, messed up the formation. Not Gahyeon. Also, she dances with her face. Her moves might not have the same punch as SuA's or Dami's, but her sense of rhythm and emotion are stellar, in my not-really-expert opinion.

@@AmadanMath Nice! Granted I was basing that statement on several older videos of other dancers rankings, so those opinions might have changed. But honestly the gaps between their skill levels are so tiny that even the 'worst' dancer in DC would still be lead dancer material. Unsurprising about her remembering formations though, she's extremely detail-oriented. (proven by the other members checking with her to see what their own schedules are 🤣)

So I’m like 6 months late with this reply, but thanks Lin! Loved how you were always one of my early birds! Yes at the time of this recording I’d say Gahyeon was the weakest link. I’ve kinda been living under a rock for the past couple of months so I imagine that hasn’t changed, but who knows!? Baby girl has for sure been working hard while I’ve been MIA so maybe she’s passed a few. I still stand by the statement that DC has the smallest skill gap between members in the industry. Also that sync video was glorious! Science and math ftw! 😊👍

As for boy group choreos, while I'm sure you're looking for recent stuff, I would love to see your reaction to ACE's "Take Me Higher" at some point. It's one of their older title tracks (not to be confused with their newest called "Higher"). For me, it one of the most fun to watch among boy groups, and I'd be curious how you'd break it down.

Yo, definitely check out SF9's "Now or Never". I'm calling it *the* boy group choreo of 2018. So freakin good and theatrical and probably my next favourite set of dancers and choreography after Dreamcatcher 🔥

@@gemmajones4123 I started learning yesterday I have a plan of learning parts by parts like half of the dance this day and the other half or finish it the next day. It took me about an hour to learn the first half, taking my time with the details. And finished the rest today which took me another hour.
