You’re absolutely right when you said there’s more to a rifle than the groups they shoot. I got an M77 Mk2 Ruger in .223 and a CZ457 Lux in .22LR and the fit, feel, quality on both rifles is unmatched. Both wood stocks and have a nice buckled leather sling, they look so nice. Accurate too. Awesome review, keep it up! Cheers from Australia.

Another excellent review Chris. Have used this model and its predecessor the Brno Fox both in treble two and 22 hornet. They handle and shoot well. A friend shot hundreds of roe deer with his in treble two. Enjoy your honest and non-BS approach to reviewing kit. Thanks for sharing. All the best from Scotland. GD

This was the 2nd rifle I bought, after a Ruger 10/22. My only regret is I wish I bought the 7.62x39 variant as well while it was still cheap and in production! Such a smooth trigger.

A good review Chris, I’d happily take it Foxing with me ! I would put some lower mounts on it to get my cheek lower, and the moderator as you say, but a ‘minute of Fox’ is good enough for me 👍🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Looks a lovely rifle! I love my CZ`s, they are a joy to shoot as are my Tikka and Rem700. Although the Rem`s bolt is like chucking a cold chisel into a tin bucket until it`s locked up! As for triggers! I wish they all had the trigger that`s on my BSA R10 SE!

Good to see a review that isn’t just a shill for the latest “greatest” released rifle being bought to market. Vested interest: I too have this gun , in a 222 full stock, but have to agree, it’s a beautifully engineered, classic light gun with accuracy beyond my ability. In ideal conditions and careful hand loads I’ve had many 0.25 moa groups when plinking. I have other “better” guns that are a burden. This I can just sling over my shoulder and almost forget about, not worry if it takes a knock, but be confident it will serve when unslung.

Well thank you for complementing this video but in fairness, all my videos are laid for by you, the viewers and the only channel sponsors I have control of (i don't choose what youtube adverts are overlaid) are specifically NOT the gunmakers so I am free to say what I want so Thank you to the viewers, The British Shooting show and Military1st clothing.

@@chrisparkin431 Absolutely no disrespect or disparagement intended to you Chris, rather the reverse. I thoroughly enjoy and learn from your informed and expert reviews. Indeed my point was to compliment you on drawing peoples attention to a good non-current product when the nature of the journalistic trade normally dictates reviewing new “improved” products only. Believe me, I’ve been there. Im a little sad then to see you close your reply with a plug for your sponsors which seems a little gratuitous. But we all have to earn a living. No disrespect. This is the price we pay for “free” KZread content. Your content is worth it. Thank you.

I agree that the groups aren't the be all and end all of a rifle. If it aint comfy, you won't shoot it well. I have a CZ457 in .17hmr, and I've been having a nightmare zeroing the bugger using the Hikmicro Alpex on a Sportsmatch HOP92 one piece QD mount, and ended up putting a Nikko Sterling Diamond on it instead. Now it feels great. The Alpex works well on my sub 12 HW100 and my Anscutz .22lr, but just didn't want to play on the CZ. LOL

Excellent video on an absolute classic . You looked genuinely happy to be testing the 527 👍 . Did you experience any feeding hang ups ? Mine is on occasion difficult with the 1st round from a full magazine , as a result I now instinctively push against the rear of the bolt , as I noticed you did . The issue doesn't occur if the magazine has 4 instead of 5 rounds leading me to believe the magazine is slightly over sprung . I suspect this isn't your first dalliance with the 527 and wondered if you'd come across this previously?

Very nice video. Lots of information. I'm thinking about getting one of those rifles in the 7.62 .39 caliber. I bought lots of ammunition back when you could get it for less than $100 for 1000 rounds. Back in the 90,s. I had 2 russian-made sks's. I sold one of them and still have one. It would be nice to have another gun that could shoot the same ammo. I'm just wondering about the steel case ammo how it would shoot in one of those rifles.

Just got one like this in .22 hornet. Mint condition but the shots spread vertically. Think i have to freefloat the barrel (it is touching at the tip of the stock).

Accuracy is #1, if is not accurate then you can’t hit what your shooting at. 1” or less is what should be expected for a hunting rifle. So it’s it a 1:12 or 1:9 twist? Looking at your groups you showed I will guess 1:9. I have both and the 1:12 consistently shoots 1/2” groups of production ammo. The 1:9 I have not yet found any production ammo that gives 1” at 100 yards or better.
