I can totally relate to what Cynthia is going through. Back in 1995, I was working full-time at a stressful government job, raising too young children, looking after all the household and after school activities on my own, my husband (now ex) was never home and we were having both marriage and with financial problems. I went to work one morning like I did every day, and as soon as I sat at my desk I started crying out of the blue and couldn’t stop. Long story short, I went home, saw a doctor and was off work for a month although it should’ve been more. I was definitely burnt out. It was embarrassing back then because mental health certainly wasn’t talked about like it is now. One of the reasons I pushed myself to go back to work. We really have to look after ourselves, and I’m glad you did, Cynthia! Take all the time you need.

It is amazing when you find out burnout is a real, confusing and difficult thing. Cynthia, you are so lucky to have had a superior recognize it and get you take time to heal. I crumbled for months going through burnout and was instead told I was emotional, difficult and defensive. Months later after breaking down and taking a leave I'm still trying to get back to who I was before. We need to recognize this in our selves, our colleagues, friends and employees more! It is so damaging to ignore. There's so many reasons, not just working too hard - value misalignment and disconnection got me. Take care of yourself people!

Awwwww so Delighted to see your Lovely Energy back Cynthia. You have been missed. Taking a Pause is so important for mental health. The only person who can take care of us is us. Big Love to you Beauty! Looking Lovely in Pink. I support trauma survivors and Burnout can also be a PTSD response to Trauma. Several studies conducted by the National Institute of Health, identify the association between emotional exhaustion and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) caused by excessive work stress have showed a strong positive correlation between burnout and PTSD. Always remember, Nothing is permanent including how we feel. 💜🙏

Oh Cynthia...big hugs and love!❤❤❤ Learning a thorough self care plan is always important at any age, however I think becomes more crucial as we mature. I have been through 3 boughts of burnout in my 52 years. Each time, I got better to listening closer to what MY SOUL wanted. It did mean adjustments, learning, and lots of therapy. It also meant me not trying to keep up with the pace of western society expects me to...or that I perceive it expects me to. I may be one of those people who saw this coming for you. A few years ago during covid, something you said while on air gave me the feeling that your outlook was changing. You will find your true fulfillment Cynthia! Again warm hugs and healing wishes, and thank you for being a voice for so many, and saying what needs to be said!❤❤❤

Lucky, sooo lucky for Cynthia that she has an employer that was willing to let her take time off. Most employers just don't and won't pay for therapy. My employer allowed me just one day off after I was taken to the hospital from my job with an anxiety attack from overwork and burnout. And you guess it, I worked for Doctors. They are the worst for overworking employees.

I find it a bit disingenuous when some people suffer from this stuff. Many people are working very hard to scrape by with a moderate lifestyle, if that. You don't have to support the large house you surely live in or the nice car you surely drive or etc etc etc. if it's too much? do less stuff, get a 9 to 5 job that probably pays you half as much but gives you control over your life. Downsize. It's like some of these athletes complaining.....ok don't be a tennis player of it's too much pressure.
