I love the pianist. He plays with perfection without trying to draw attention to himself. Her voice has something I can’t explain. Her voice draws you in and touches your heart.

Imagine being 53, and having to hear that you are worthless all those years to then hear the words of Cynthia telling you that you are not and feeling the tears, sadness and pain flowing right out of your soul. Knowing that you will hear the words worthless again soon, but that no one can take away this moment. I am going through such an enormously hard life, but it only makes me stronger. x

I moved home, far away from where people did this to me and finally my kids and I live in a country where most of the people see us as a human again, and not as a colour, nationality or strange because of not being like them. Which gives me the chance now to let go of those words, to finally accept myself for who I am and to grow from there. The pain and sadness is still there, big time and it will be something I have to learn to carry with but on the other hand it made me into who I am now and it only fuels the need of wanting to be there for others, more. Wishing you all the best too! Thank you! x

I saw her twice in The Color Purple. I’ve watched countless videos of her performing at various events. To realize that I’ve never heard her speak until watching this segment is astounding. TERRELL fan here as well. I agree with why she didn't want to perform that song at that conference. If my memory serves me correctly she stated that the song nearly became what she considers a "party trick" and didn't want to disrespect nor downplay the message intended in that very powerful song. I love everything about her; voice, healthy active lifestyle, and beautiful from deep within her spirit to her pretty face. I actually viewed her on the TERRELL show live the other day and enjoyed Parts 1 & 2. It was literally an emotional and beautiful experience.

She is a phenomenal talent. I've seen Broadway shows for over 20 years. Her portrayal Celie in The Color Purple was ASTOUNDING! She got standing and screaming ovations at every performance of I'm Here.

Ive never heard the first song. And it's beautiful. I’ve watched this video countless times and every time I cry so hard. I can’t believe there are people on this earth that have a voice that angelic.

God I love that she sang Mona Lisa. I feel like her silky voice when singing the high notes at the climax is more of a cry of acceptance and pride in oneself. Whereas I feel Jazmine’s version, because of her timbre, is more of a cry of wanting to be accepted and finally overcoming the need for approval of others.

She continues to surprise and amaze me with her voice, intelligence, and pure radiance. I'm fortunate to have found out about her. Wow such an inspirational being.

YES! I was like who the fuck was that singing in this movie, found her and have been obsessed ever since.

Such a unique blend of power and vulnerability. She is one of the greatest talents of this generation.

The intro she did before she started to sing was so beautiful, touching and meaningful too me that no matter how many times I play this video (and I play it a lot) I never skip the talking part from respect to her. But I mean, she is so intelligent and articulate with want she wants to say and at the same time has such a calming, soothing and warm speaking voice and presence that it's a pure pleasure listening to her talk.

I am saw it yesterday. I thought Jennifer Hudson was THE VOICE being new to this phenomenal rising star, and now I am floored to learn this is Cynthia's own voice. Still trying to grasp the truth in this performance. Leaving the theatre thinking this is best actress bound, now knowing its all her it will be a true sin if she doesn't take it home!

I love the look on her face as though she herself is astounded by what she can do with her gift. I love her spirit. As I lie here not sure what tomorrow brings I find peace in her astounding voice.

I’ve always melted at her singing voice but I truly loved hearing her speak more here.. So eloquent, so full of life and truly a person you can look up to and be inspired by.
