    And already, a film studio owned by the mob sounds like a more interesting premise than the movie itself had.

    brdn in haunted mansion Not to mention the continuity errors galore! Like at the beginning the hairless hamsters are tricked and fall where it appears to be a main Street, but they finally crash on the same field Dex jumps in after his acrobatics with his grappling hook thingy! Also, and it's maybe the clips Phelan used for his review, but the background is missing pixels here and there... 45 millions dollars movie everybody! 😁

  • @vipertaja

    I like that idea and I noticed a bit of similarity between them. It has the same end twist, doesn't it? A mascot pretending to be a "real world" person, much like Judge Doom is a toon in disguise. Had they actually made the "real world" and the "mascot world" more contrasting the way Who Framed Roger Rabbit uses cartoon and live action, Foodfight's so called "plot" might have been clearer. As it stands it's pretty muddy, though I had already seen several mocking reviews on the film so I knew the plot already going in.

  • @travishimebaugh8381

    @travishimebaugh8381

    A world where cartoons are real is engaging. It worked for Roger Rabbit... to a _degree_ it worked for Space Jam... because cartoons have actual characterizations, not just quirks, and they have sentimental significance to a lot of people. The only people who get sentimental over _grocery mascots_ are 'spergs.

    From what I've heard it was more a mix of wasting the budget on overpaid famous actors (Like the very valuable addition of a bored and potentially drunk Charlie Sheen) and lots of development issues. Personally though I think at some point they should've looked at what they were doing and say "Yeeeah, this ain't gonna work..." so I'm not throwing out your guesses in terms of what kept the process going to completion...

    Gaming with Mikey! I heard some sources saying it was 65 millions... Now, wether it's true or not so much money was wasted that I feel cheated in some way. I mean, how many people this thing could have fed, clothed and housed? Even if it's fucking Kraft dinner boxes and Walmart clothes, it would litterally have helped millions of people! As for me, I am fantasizing on this trip in Pantagonia I want to do since a year or so... Heck, I'd probably be able to make that trip back and forth every year till I drop dead!

    Beckoning Chasm Why do bad movies often tries to rip off Casablanca anyway? Barb Wire did the same and I didn't even know until Nostalgia Critic pointed it out because I never watched it and I sincerely thought he was kidding! This movie is considered a jewel of cinema yet the worst movies in existence always try to copy or reference it, even Night of the Living Fred with that scene with a plane in the background (I recognized it because it was parodied a lot). By the way Night of the Living Fred sucks! I don't know why I subjected myself to this but it was on Netflix, and I like bad movies and I was curious. Kind of a dangerous mix... 😁

    Watch some of the Showa era Gamera movies. Gamera vs. Guiron (Also known as Attack of the Monsters) or Gamera vs. Gyaos or something. They're WAY more competent than this, they're obviously bad, laughably bad, but in a really fun and goofy, stupid way. If you wanna have a great time watching bad movies, give them a watch. Or even some Showa era Godzilla films. Godzilla vs. Megalon, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster, those are all amazing for both how weird and how awful they are. It's one of those so-bad-it's-good type of things. Really enjoyable if you like that kind of a thing. Then again, of course I recommend them, I'm biased... I'm a big fan of Japanese monster movies. This movie though, Foodfight? This... this is pure nightmare mixed with unadulterated bullshit.

    You guys should watch the 1982 Treasure Planet movie. It's a complete mindfuck. (It's on KZread, and I'm pretty sure it's public domain at this point)

    When I close my eyes... I can still see the horribly rendered pixels moving, laughing, tearing at my willfulness to live. Oh make it stop!!!

    At some point, you guys need to watch Robowar (1988)! It's a low budget Italian rip-off of Predator, and stars Reb Brown, the star of Space Mutiny.

    The only vague thing worth seeing in this movie is the abomination Christopher Lloyd plays. There's just something hilariously bizarre in that...and I'll give the movie just a hint of credit: I can see why he might move like that considering the twist at the end. That was almost clever.

    It's what Doc Brown would have looked like if BTTF were made by Tim Burton instead of Robert Zimmeckis.
