Lyrics:
All through the night
I'll be awake and I'll be with you
All through the night
This precious time when time is new
Oh, all through the night today
Knowing that we feel the same without saying
We have no past we won't reach back
Keep with me forward all through the night
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
Until it ends there is no end

I love Cyndi Lauper a hundred times more than Madonna. She's so adorable. But she's not better, judt different. How many awesome songs has Madonna had from the 80's up to now ? But Cyndi Lauper is My favourite Her songs make us more emotional ❤
Cyndi Lauper absolutely marked my teen years. Then, I was a young girl just partying without a worry in the world, untill my father died. And here I am today, at the age of 58, still enjoying this song as if it was the 80's again.

We were eating last night in a restaurant / Casino and this song came on all through the night and I was so choked. It brought back such wonderful memories but I couldn't stop crying my mother is gone my father is gone and so is my middle brother. My sister had a stroke a few months ago he just brought back so many wonderful memories that my heart aches does anyone else feel the same with nature music from the past? Or am I being too silly? Music will never be the same like it was in the late 70s 80s and 90s thank you all for reading this and forgive me for my emotions.

When she does that last chorus and holds that note for 20 beats it gives me chills up and down my spine, then she hits those high notes at the end and the vibrato in her voice is so beautiful. I always have to hear the end a few times.

Okay, we can be objective here. The 90's were the last era before pop took over everything and everything became a the same 3 or 4 chord progressions. Since the 90's things have been simplified. Now, the 80's were still learning synth and electronic implementations. If you factor in videos and everything like that, I'm sorry, I just don't see how you can say that the 80's music scene was better than the 90's. That style was such a flash in the pan compared to the 90's, too. This is one of my favorite songs and I'm an 80's kid but if I'm going to be real, the scene and music in the 90's was much more diverse and well made than the 80's. It all peaked there. Since then, it's just the same tunes. I don't even blame the 2000's because they found the formula. What sucks is that today you have to search for good music because today's music is so simple and repetitive based off of that formula. They all copy each other and do the same crap, these days. EDM, repetitive in it's individual songs, does well these days because it's the only place where experimentation is allowed and you hear different tones. Sad. We lost things like Cindi. We lost new things. Btw, the drugs were better too. 80's had coke. 90's had E. Try them both and tell me which was better. ;) No matter enjoy what you like. Put a smile on your face because in the end, the only thing that matters is how many times that happens in your life.

This song reminds me of the only woman I've ever loved.. I was in love with her for 15 years and never thought she could ever love me and it broke me. And our paths crossed and we talked for a couple months on.the phone just as friends and then one night she out of the blue invited me over to her house the next night.. I could barely sleep I got up for work and the whole time all I could think about was after all these years the woman I've been in love with, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen that was waaaaay out of my league invited me over to her house to watch a movie..I was a nervous wreck.. she lived pretty far so that car ride to her house, which I had never been to was agonizing.. I played every scenario out in my head over n over it was torture..and then I finally get there and it's really late at night and I text her im.there and she opens the door and she looks sooooo beautiful, like something out a movie. And she smiles and says hi come on in.. and I follow her down the hallway and into her room and i sit on the bed and she gets the movie started and she looks at me and i look back i think this us the moment you've waited for your whole adult life.. and i just went for it and kissed her.. and we made out passionately for hours.. and laid there in the bed talking and it was the greatest moment of my life.. everything I ever wanted was right there in that room. I loved her so much.. a few weeks later she told me unprovoked that she loved me. It lasted a year and a half. And I'm more lost and broken than I ever was before.. this song was playing on the radio on the car ride home after that night.. I'd never felt so happy and in love as I did that night.
I'm 52. Listening to this song, I'm transported to when i was 12 in Union City, New Jersey. How about you?

in the 80s it was common to see punks, when i was a kid i loved their aesthetics, never saw cindi as a pop figure like Madonna she always represented to me rebel side, dream side and honest side of music, her music had that new wave punk pop dream feel. she was def no clone, that's why she lasts. thank u for ur gift cindi.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun was an anthem for young girls at the time.
This song had a sparkle, and it draws me near for an eternity, eternally spinning around the early eighties....endlessly, and in love. In love with all that my senses held onto during this special time. Cindy was just so special back then, and she carried me through. I swear, I love her...really love this woman. This song encapsulates every great feeling I ever had during that decade, and she just brought that 8 year old boy right back. Magic.

I still have an original cassette of Cindy Lauper's music. It's been in the family for, gosh, 40 years! Earlier this year I purchased an old cassette player and listened to the whole album. When this particular song played I broke down and cried. I remembered falling asleep to this song when I was 2, maybe 3 years old. And 40 years later, as a middle aged man, I still like listening to this song whenever I'm tired and need to de-stress from the outside world. And I don't know if it's long too late to reach out, but Ms. Cindy, thank you! I'll do my best to keep that cassette going another 40 years.

Being a metal head back then it was hard to explain why I was a Cyndi lauper fan
It’s weird, but my parents are Mexicans and loved Cyndi Lauper. Now that I am older I see why they did. Cause of songs like this.
I could never put my finger on exactly why whenever I heard this song there was always a part of me that kept getting a little choked up. I just figured it out - it's simply a beautiful song, lyrically, vocally and instrumentally. Thank you Ms. Lauper for making such a timeless work of art...

80's kids will ALWAYS appreciate music when it was still music...
For those that are meeting Cyndi Lauper for the first time because of Bly Manor: do yourselves a favor and listen to this album. And her other albums. We are talking about one of the most incredible singers this world has ever had
Amazing lyrics amazing music amazing artist so versatile
Ok, take me back to the 80's immediately or take me out of this life...I've had enough.

There are songs that makes you freeze and stop for a moment. This is one of them. I love how the melody cascades down like a waterfall. It takes me back to my teens. And stirs emotions i have forgotten.

I recall how two young women made the music scene in the 80's, both became quite popular but only one spoke the language I wanted to hear..Cyndi. This song is so beautiful.
Cindy. Loper. Is my. Favorite. Singer. She. Is. Berry. Wonderful. Sound. Berry. Nice. Song. Now. And. Forever. My. Favorite. Idol. I love. You. Cindy. More. Power.
This was my favorite CL song. She killed this one. Holding that one note for a hour! Whoa. Well written song. Sticks with you for going on 38 years.
Love the way she holds the note at the end, always gives me goosebumps.

Enjoy it while you can, because when you get to be half a century old, you will miss it. And never miss an opportunity, because missed opportunity will become "what if" and regret. Tell everyone special to you how much they mean, because they can be gone in the blink of an eye.

This song is a master class in using chords for vocals isn't it? I was born in 1969, so know this decade very well, and to me She's So Unusual is one of the top five albums that defined by 80s.
Only music like this has the ability to bring back the most powerful emotions from childhood whether they be good or bad.

Blessed to grow up in the 80s. What a time it was.
Madonna knew she was the bigger star, but alone at home, only there could she admit she couldn’t touch Cindi’s talent.
Pensa numa euforia ao ouvir essa música...Um misto de saudades, de alegria, tristeza. Ela me invade como quando ainda era uma criança. Maravilhosa!!!
