This is what I like about Cyndi. She is such an icon, but she never behaves that way. Whenever she makes a speech you can feel it is from the heart. She doesn't need to go up there and pretend she is crying or something. You know what I mean. A true legend and the kind of artist we rarely see today.

If It wasn't for Cyndi Lauper....She opened so many doors and showed us that being different was OK. As cooky and unusual as she is.....SHE NEVER GAVE UP. What a legend and as an artist, Ms. Lauper is one of a kind

I wouldn’t be me had I not experienced your True Colors song & album. Cyndi Lauper was crucial in the little self acceptance that I acquired as a teenager... to think a song can be paramount is radical to those whom can’t embrace creativity. Love ❤️ you forever ........

Hahahaha... in her concerts...when she's rambling between songs...she always seems to find that ONE person who is either bored to tears or is using their phone to tune her out...And Cyndi will find you and will put you on blast!! Looks like Cyndi caught one this evening....

She’s so gracious. I could never imagine True Colors not being something DJs wouldn’t want to play. I loved the song the minute I heard it and I remember the day I heard it on the radio, the DJ said, “everyone’s calling in wanting to hear the new Cyndi Lauper song.” That song saved my life. It's an amazing song. I never thought until recently about this but it's the song I want to play at my funeral whenever that may be. I remember hearing it in a grocery store when I was a little kid shopping with my mom and thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. So heartbreaking/uplifting at the same time and brutally honest.. (: Congrats Cyndi!!

I am blown away thinking about where this woman (and other iconic 80s female performers) came from! I took vocal performance at college in the 80s and made posters for my recital with Cyndi, U2 and Madonna's images. She is ageless and timeless. Congrats to the girl who started the movement for all "girls who just wanna have fun!"
