Funny coincedence. I follow your channel and I was that same day also at the same place. Parked my van at the museum so it was in the first seconds of your video. I had a meeting in the museum that day, but my wife and me had our bikes with us in the van and made a nice trip around Fredriksoord in the late afternoon. Much nicer weather at the end of the day, as I remember. These dutch inland colonies are very interesting history but also nice to visit on a bike!

A super ride with great scenery; love seeing the well-maintained farmland and houses. The soil is so rich, going from chocolate to almost black in places! Thanks Mark.

My parents moved to Drente after living in de Zaan, It's where I grew up. My father is a Drent and my parents were cycling basically every day there. Drente, best kept secret when it comes to cycling

Voor mij is dit leuk om te zien. Ik heb liever meer kanalen en polders, maar dit is ook goed. Nederlands is mijn tweede taal. Meer oefenen nodig:-) In juni zal ik Utrecht bezoek voor een maand. Mijn derde reis naar Nederland. Uit San Diego, CA. Hier is fietsen niet goed. Ik heb de regio van Texel tot Rotterdam tot Meppel bezocht, maar nog niet Flevoland of Zeeland. En geen van de anderen oost of noord. Hoe is de fietsen in Zeeland? Te veel water? Flevoland beter? Andere ideeēn? Bedankt voor de video's.

Zeeland and Flevoland are boring polder/ meadows provinces. I recommend to go to Drenthe, Gelderland, Utrecht, East Brabant and Limburg. The Wadden islands are very nice to cycle.

@@mardiffv.8775 Thanks. I'll take that under consideration in my map browsing and questioning. Coming from the US, we have forests and places similar to the Dutch national parks that I've seen, but the Dutch canals, farmlands, castles, windmills, etc are all interesting to me. People have different interests and priorities, so getting advice requires some care and thought.

Did Zeeland on my motorcycle, beautiful but windy i had to leave the motorway on the way back for safety. If the weather report says windforce 3 or over, avoid!! I live in North Brabant in the South of the Netherlands. Great cycling topography, Forrest, Heather, farmland with lots of little villages, roadside cafe's, icecream shops etc

@jefflastofka9289 Flevoland lijkt mij veel te saai want 'nieuw' land en geen leuke dorpjes om te bezoeken. Als je van polders houdt zou ik denken aan 'Het Groene Hart'. Bijvoorbeeld rond Woerden, Oudewater, Montfoort, Haastrecht, Schoonhoven. Dus ten westen van Utrecht (ga ook naar Kasteel Ter Haar). Veel cultuur en natuur historie, prachtige stadjes en dorpjes. Ga ook eens een dag wandelen over bijvoorbeeld de 'tiendwegen' in dit gebied. Ik weet 100% zeker dat je het daar prachtig zal vinden.

I would recommend the Wadden isles of Vlieland and Terschelling, easy to reach by train and ferry. Bikes can be rented at the isles. At Vlieland only inhabitants are aloud to drive cars, so there are lots of bikes and bike paths. If you like a more hilly countryside I would recommend the countryside around and north of Maastricht, gorgeous.

@@christophreuter9572 Cities need to provide safe, protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be able to ride to school on a bicycle and not have to be driven in a car.

Would love to see you do a bicycle trip around Zwolle, taking in Heerde, Epe and Oene. I was born in Oene many years ago. Emigrated to Canada in 1954. Seems so long ago, yet not long ago watching your bicycle tours.
