Cycling to the Bridge House Farm Tearooms - Wray. I'm a cyclist and I live in the Pennines

On today's ride we set off on a fantastic cycling route from Newton In Bowland which is in the county of Lancashire where we took on the iconic climb of the Cross of Greet #79 high up in the Bowland fells and which borders with the Yorkshire Dales. The cafe stop was at the Bridge House Tearooms in Wray which is a cracking place to get some much needed refreshments and caters for cyclists passing by.
After the break we continued on towards Lancaster and Morcambe riding over the Lune Millenium Bridge before taking on the climb of Jubilee Tower #76 and then the climb of the Trough it's self.
If you are a keen cyclist or are new to this great sport then why not take a moment to watch this video, with Maps, a narration of the ride and so much more, this is the home of my road cycling channel.
I'm a cyclist and I live in the Pennines.

Todmorden Up to Skipton, Settle, Ingleton, Lancaster, Pilling, Fleetwood, B,pool, Lytham St.A.,Preston, Southport, Bootle Liverpool and back to my home town north of Manchester. Fantastic film Daz, I missed this when you produced it. I was away in Gran Canaria repairing punctures with my good mate Peter Sagan* Admission coming; nearly everyone local (myself included) “ yeah I’ve done Jubilee Towers, but I came up from the Trough side” which is a much easier way. I have done the Trough both directions and the Cross of Greet same direction as you showed. Lancaster is always busy. It grinds to a halt if there are roadworks or an RTC. So post covid I don’t do driving lessons there. * story last January about a Scotsman cycling in Gran Canaria, having 3 punctures same day. Waves down some other cyclists which turned out to be Sagan and his teammates training. We were out there hiking. I’m taking the bike next time I go though.

That's a fab story Sophie about Sagan. The lads were in Majorca earlier this year and bumped into Contador ! I love the Trough and all of the routes that lead out from it. It is proper cycling territory. I'm off over to Kendal today from Horton in Ribblesdale via Dent and Sedbergh with Mike. Happy cycling Sophie and keep those Di2 gears charged up 😁

One I can recommend with a gravel or mtb is park at slaidburn then go up wood house lane up and over the fantastic barren middle of nowhere landscape hornby road (salter fell track) which is an ancient Roman road that goes all the way to hornby , motor vehicles are banned so it’s nice and quiet , you could do a loop or just out and back . I intend to do it this year. If you look at photos online you can see the track snake around the hills for over 7 miles ahead 😳

I have cycled every route possible between My local town north of Manchester to Aberdaron in both directions to go to my caravan Frazer, some of the best journeys I have ever done . The shortest being 155 miles the longest just shy of 200 miles. I tried the coastal routes and many via Ruthin , Snowdonia and Porthmadog . Happy times for sure and you need to be fit to 😅 enjoy theses kinds of rides.
