Scary riding on the highway with cars with a bike. There must be a safer way.

Yes. Venetian Causeway is waaaay safer than this route. He just doesn't know about it

It can be quite scary and I wouldn't recommend it when the Venetian Causeway is close by where traffic is much calmer.

Key Biscayne is the paradise for cycling

You should ALWAYS cycle to Miami Beach via the Venetian Causeway. It's a much safer ride with protected bike lanes and 30 MPH traffic. The MacArthur is not safe at all, especially at night, in the wee hours of the morning, and at rush hours. There's also no tall bridges to climb because boats cross as draw bridges. Overall it's also a much, much, much easier and pleasant ride. The same is true for walking. The Venetian is how that's done too. I actually walked from downtown Thursday late afternoon to Miami Beach via the Venetian, and I started around the same place that you did. I was at the Southeast Financial Center Building.

The traffic is definitely much calmer on the Venetian Causeway compared to the A1A causeway as you said. It's much safer.

I’ve been waiting for these bike rides 🚴‍♂️🙂!! Quite smooth bike ride despite the lack of the actual bike lanes , and the Port of Miami is always great to see , it’s a place where the Caribbean Cruisers are 🙂!! Along the way was great looking buildings and the palm trees 🌴which i like 🙂!!Thank you A K for sharing this entertaining Bike ride 👍🌴!!!

I was in Miami about 15 yrs ago for Cruise on Carnival lines. to Nassau in the Bahamas. had a great time then and just now thru your efforts on the new Bike. Good morning, today is March 26th and I live in Chicago. Your videos of New York were great and exciting because of all the history and landmarks you reviewed. Does it seem like Miami is boring due to lack of history and great landmarks? I find your videos of Miami nice, pretty, and boring.

When you got over the final bridge into Miami Beach you should have turned right. Then you’d have a super pedestrian friendly ride all down the length of south beach on the boardwalk. We just got back from a trip to Miami Beach and I miss it already.

I am having "little heart attacks" watching how close you are to those cars ...😵‍💫be safe, use the sidewalks when possible ... those MIA drivers are not the friendliest to bikers .... take it from an ex Jackson trauma icu nurse .... enjoy your MIA adventures !!! thanks for taking us along

Yeah those Miami drivers are like Boston drivers only they drive a lot faster and a lot more aggressive. I'd steer clear of them!

Sidewalks are for pedestrians. Bicycles ride in traffic lanes unless there's a bike lane

Nice looking bike! Looking forward to your video riding the Venetian Causeway - super bike/ped friendly. Definitely recommend the ride on Key Biscayne -- all the way to the lighthouse. Be careful if you ride near the old abandoned marine stadium. They have big events in that parking lot and they leave behind lots of nails and tacks. I picked up a tack and flat tire over there.

I have walked across that from Miami Beach to Downtown MIami before . . just chillin with my headphones and music. . I think it took roughly one hour 45 minutes or maybe two hours . . . Just stayed on the side but yeah very long walk

I’m only 20 min but the Venetian cause way is the only way to walk to the beach from bayside lol I grew up in Miami and traded it for Brooklyn, it’s almost impossible to make it in Miami without a car part time and it’s very hostile to pedestrians and bikes. The only reason bikes are allowed on side walks is because there’s hardy people walking around. Especially once you leave the downtownish area.

It's legal to ride on the sidewalk in Florida. If you ride right next to the cars who have no idea you are there, your likely to lose a leg or worse.

If you want to cycle someplace safer in Miami I'd go to key biscayne. That town is very bike friendly and the causeway to get there is really nice.

Hi Actionkid, I really enjoyed the video and love your bike. I'm a little confused, I was going to watch the two very long Miami Festivals videos but for some reason they are no longer on KZread were they removed, I don't understand.

Good for you but, NOT a place I want to be. Traffic, noise, etc. I'm in Madison, WI. We have 5 lakes and nice, quiet bike paths. I have a trailer cart for my bike. I put a pet pen in it and my cat goes with me on my rides.

That MacArthur is fricken dangerous! Where they have the bike lane cars also use it as a breakdown lane and you could have ended up as sausage pizza against the guard rail. 😱 Because except when you were on the sidewalk you were basically thrown into interstate traffic. Clearly the state should have provided a separate bicycle and pedestrian path on either side and upgraded that road to an actual interstate. Back during Christmas and New Year's 1999-2000 my partner and I visited Miami Beach on bikes and we took the Venetian Causeway. It's much safer and much more pleasant.

Hello. I watched some of your videos from Miami. It seems to me that it is a more relaxing place in terms of living. And is it more affordable in terms of prices compared to other big cities like NY?

You should of took the other venetian causeway right next too it, there are less cars and that's more scenic

Next time bike the Venetian causeway it’s much safer. And I’ll send you a link to the downtown Miami micromobility page, there you can find the streets with safe bike lanes in downtown.

Ride on the sidewalks in Florida whenever possible. They turn right on the red and do not look out for pedestrians or bicyclist. Very few Floridians , except for the poor or tourist, walk or ride bikes. Florida roads are not bike friendly.
