@@farhanahmedheathland5923 Nitrifying bacteria = turn amonia to nitrites and then nitrates. Denitrifying bacteria = turn those nitrates into nitrogen gas Nitrogen fixing bacteria = turn nitrogen gas to amonia *p.s. I know in the video it says nitrogen fixing bacteria turn it to nitrates. However, in my notes and the official book it says they turn it to amonia.

Nitrifying bacteria is the process in which ammonia is converted into nitrites then nitrates . Nitrogen fixing bacteria is converting atmospheric nitrogen gas into nitrates in the soil. Lightning also causes nitrogen fixation. Whilst denitrifying bacteria is when nitrates is converted back into nitrogen gas. Hope this helps.

nitrogen fixing bacteria fix nitrogen gas from the air into ammonium ions. nitrifying bacteria turn the ammonium ions into nitrates(that the plants can absorb). denitrifying bacteria turn the nitrates into nitrogen gas
