mockup of the steering for the cyclekart 2024 build. have to finish welding out the tie rods, happy with the current setup, as of this point it feels good so I will continue. and all welds hidden under frame.

The tangs on the spindles look a bit longer than necessary. I’ll be building a CK.

Hi there, thankyou for your comment, no I think it comes down to design. Yes they are long but when turning the steering wheel, there is little to no effort. And as you see I am turning it to about 165 degree of radius. Due to design the wheels are turn to just about there max with out hitting the frame. At speed I don't think I will need all that so it should be quite smooth with no arm pump. Good luck with your build

I was thinking. Long tangs should give the wheels less authority to jerk the steering wheel when hitting bumps. So if it’s turning sharp enough for you with long tangs, then you might be on to something

@@yelwing exactly, less jerking, smoother handling, I used to race ride on mowers so learnt alot there in 9 years of racing and now turning my attention to cyclekarting. Putting what I learnt with no suspension into something that has it all. Suspension front and back. Cheers.
