about the engine mount....there needs to be a way to adjust the chain tension......chains stretch.....then they wear the sprocket..an idler gear,like on a long tandem bicycle chain,would help. at higher speeds engine vibration absorbs significant power.......go kart people found years ago that putting the heavy strong engine mount on a hinged plate hinge up front,nearer the seat, helped absorb the up and down motions of the engine,so the engine was able to achieve its own equilibrium,and run faster,making more power .... the whole subject of engine vibration is interesting...

The engine mount has elongated holes which allow for the motor to be adjusted forward for new chain and adjust by loosening and pushing the motor forward on the go. The chain I used is very similar to 40 pitch conveyor belt chain which is cheap, and the hinge your talking about, well the motor is suspended on the rear mount and is connected to the axle, if it was hinged to the body of the vehicle then the chain would fall off all the time as the chassis twists or axle twists to a different angle to that of the motor. Cyclekarts are about keeping weight at it lowest. And I am designing a low weight option of a full suspension cyclekart. Using the minimal of parts. Thanks for you comment.

The front steering pivots and steering rod ends are to line up to the middle of the rear axle in an invisible triangle 🔺️. Just saying 😳 lol 😅
