    Please note this is not a Morgan. From aluminium and steel tubing, a few sheets of five ply and some aluminium sheet the car evolved. It was built and rebuilt several times until I was completely satisfied. Head lights and turning indicators came from the UK, rear view mirrors from an Australian Jaguar dealer, hub motor including wheels tyres and tubes from China, battery from a Sydney bike shop, number plates from ‘Custom Novelty Number Plates’, Leather helmet and goggles from Canada. All other work including aluminium polishing, spray painting, upholstery and carpet was carried out by myself. Thanks for watching

    Very nice job, well, excellent should be the term.. I’ve been looking into CycleKarts as a hobby, also contemplating similar to you, electric.. Such a shame ADR/Vic Roads restrict the power / speed on these😢 Though I think a race fraternity could be created. Would love to see it, I’m over Bittern way. Cheer’s Tim

    Nice build 👌! 2000 watts on way-more-than-a-bicycle kilograms sounded a little... ehm... anemic at first, but in the few moments where you could see/hear it accelerate, it appeared to have a pretty good amount of 'go' 😄👍...

    Tretpedale würden reichen bei maximal 25km/h und 250 W. Alles was drüber ist, kann nur mit Irrsinnsaufwand 'legal' werden. Es könnte ja eine sinnvolle Entwicklung entstehen.....

    Separate question: have you had any challenges in balancing those front brakes left-to-right? Looks like you're using a bicycle setup.

  • @kimprowd8126

    @kimprowd8126

    I have both front brake cables going to one brake handle( it’s a double set up) and I have a single brake handle for the rear wheel. I find if I use the Re- gen and rear brake it’s usually enough to slow down or every thing at once if you need to pull up quick. If you check out 15kw off road electric go-cart he details all equipment.

    Hi Nathaniel thanks for the comment. Top speed so far is around 25 mph the range I haven’t been able test. I need to find somewhere I can legally drive. On Christmas Day my son in his Santa hat said he just wanted to take it around the block which would take about 10 minutes he returned an hour later with still plenty left in the battery. I will let you know when I can really give her a good run. Thanks for your interest regards Kim Prowd.

    @@NathanielSalzman G’Day Nathaniel if you build a three wheeler then you save on the cost of a back axle and wheels. I bought my hub motor from “Leaf Bikes” who do have I think a 3000 or 4000 watt hub motor however the batteries are still costly. It’s important to keep the weight down ( power to weight ratio). My car was more of a creation during Covid and the top speed wasn’t that important although I did try a 1500 watt motor first but had trouble with so went to the 2000 watt. That’s enough horse shit from me I think the best part of these things is how much you learn along the way have fun and let me know how you go.

    @@kimprowd8126 That makes sense. Yeah a heavy cyclekart kinda defeats the purpose right? I love the idea of an electric cyclekart with hub motors on all four wheels, but having researched that it'd be 100 lbs in just motors. The maximum capacity battery that could reasonably fit in the floor would weigh 180 lbs. It isn't a great formula for full-size cars. Teslas, for example, are very heavy cars but at full scale you can kind of brute force your way around that with massive brakes and beefy suspension. On something small like this, the penalties paid for weight are more severe. So I think I'll stick to old fashioned gasoline for my cyclekart. I do have an Aptera on pre-order though. That should be fun!

    @@ezzyzhoo5139 hi Ezzy they talk about power to weight ratio so you need enough power to move 4 people plus the weight of the car so you need a more serious motor and a big battery pack. I’m not an expert in this field, just keep exploring the internet. I new nothing when I started my car but have gained a bit of knowledge along the way. Cost will be a lot more. All the best Kim.
