Thanks for the playthrough, will be getting this one for myself, love me some Cyclades. I wanted to get the kickstarter for the minis and extra tat, but they promised a crowdfunding round just for my region after the kickstarter was over; they gave up on that idea and just shafted everyone in South America who waited for it, since it was no longer possible to back the KS. Wankers.

I am buying this because you love it. Waiting for a deal, but for sure adding this to the collection. The Kickstarter page is an absolute mess. Endless scrolling of add ons and stupid "stretch goals" and other non-sense. I will never use KS (bad politics... BLM banner? Nope.) KS is rubbish. I am glad that you sort through it all and deliver a worthy opinion. We like mean/ high conflict games and this should suit our needs.

Funny how it looks like the boardstate overall doesn't change much. Also those are good looking meeples, almost switched to meeples instead of minis.

Played this at UKGE as well, thought the map looked great. Good vibrant colours and very readable. How do you think the legendary editions measures up to the classic?

@@BoardGameBollocks yeah same, I got a game in on the Saturday. It was really streamlined and the action just flew by. I went all in, but I think there’s something to be said for the elegance and smaller footprint of the meeples and standard-sized box. Although those standees don’t exactly have the same presence as the big miniature Polyphemus etc. Are you still looking forward to the massive ultimate pledge?

This reminds me of Northgard: Uncharted Lands; have you ever tried it?

Yes. Amazing achievement.

So glad I backed this, and the meeples version at that. Tired of how obsessed this industry is with lavish miniatures, but then bloated, boring gameplay. A nice production can be made with simple components, and that constraint forces the gameplay to shine!

I was going to back the meeple version but a late opportunity to back the miniatures version in a group pledge came up but I agree with your sentiment- offering a meeple version was an excellent move by the creators.

Meeples for the new Cyclades??? Damn! That's NOT a good thing imo I'll keep my vintage copy like a relic now
