In the end I had to use the Arduino but I am planning on making another video in which I will also fix this issue with the 555 timer IC and make it Arduino-free. And also try to find a better antenna configuration because right now the range is not great. I have tried using 173 mm 1/4th wave long wires and the common coil method but none worked better than just the extended antenna . I am open to suggestions!
