Spoke to a Tesla Maintenance Crew at a Supercharger yesterday in Tennessee. They said not to panic. Many of those laid off needed to go - which is why they were in Tennessee doing maintenance, fixing errors from the crews that had been let go. From what they said, there is a lot of work still planned.

Whole Mars catague , a youtube channel took the mercedes with their fsd and a tesla on fsd 12 on an identical drive. (Recommend you eatch this test as it was truely shocking) Really straight forward drive along a single lane road with gentle curves and almost no traffic for about 20 mins The mercedes had 44 interventions. Mainy critical that where required to avoid eg head on collisions etc. The tesla had 0 (zero) interventions

The free thirty day trial for the Self-driving software might be great for Tesla's revenue stream especially with the monthly fee down to $99 a month, but I regret to declare I do not think it is ready for prime time. On three different occasions when I needed to make a left turn, it decided to go straight midway thru the turn. As it jumped out of self-driving mode and slammed on the breaks, it dinged my insurance for hard braking and hard turn so I stopped using it two weeks before the trial end date. Tesla should have a suggestion box to receive complaints like mine. That short request to report problems why you disabled self-driving is more of a distraction than a help. I am not ready to use it even for $99 per month.

Just because you didn't know that there were 500 people on the supercharger team before doesn't mean it's not a huge mistake or issue to let them go. That's really bad logic. It's very common for some of the best/smartest people or very important elements of a companies success be those that are invisible to the average consumer. When it works well you aren't supposed to be hyper focused on it because it's just there in the background working as it's supposed to and letting the part that actually is customer facing shine.

The FSD yeah. Cuz more cars using the same system means more data and connectivity for better results. Makes sense to get as many cars on the same system as possible. The charging network though seems better to keep in house for a couple reasons. 1. Its the recurring money charges that typically prove to be the more predictable and thus easiest to business plan revenue stream. 2. Teslas claim to fame success is vertical integration and understanding the whole product. So its easier and quicker to diagnose issues and change them. You're only as good as your worst Subcontractor goes the phrase in construction and maintainence. 3. Small footprint but still land bought and an asset. Thats influence in an area and potential investment earnings. Particularly cuz you're gonna put chargers in populated and growing path areas. 4. When your employees are servicing and fixing the thing. Its easier to crunchtime and keep to deadlines vs 3rd party scheduling and they cancel due to weather and then again due to forgetting that one tool. And then again cuz traffic was annoying.

Interesting to hear you say “Supercharger site owners.” I thought Tesla owned all of their charging sites. Would love to see a video about how the whole process works. If the sites are privately owned, do they get a portion of the revenue from the site? Do they get the majority of the revenue? What about Tesla’s with free charging? Is there some payment from Tesla to the site owner even for vehicles charging on a free session? So many questions. 😊

Regarding the Mercedes level 3, that's literally the specifications of level 3.. that it works in specific scenarios, but in those scenarios, you can take your eyes off the road. If Tesla was more secure in their system, they would also take responsibility if it crashes in certain scenarios (like highway for instance).

Everybody's case is a bit different. Allow me to share my decision making process with what I did. I pre-ordered a dual motor cyber truck, and expected it would take a long time before I could take delivery. In Dec. 2023 Tesla offered me $1,000 off (via email) any current Tesla since I was on the waiting list for a cyber truck. At this point the model y has been out several years. A lot of the issues that it originally had of all been worked out. I would say it is now a polished product. In addition to that, the vehicles cost has dropped considerably in price as well. I bought a dual motor long range all-wheel drive for 49k. They used to be over 60k. When I originally ordered my cybertruck dual motor it was supposed to cost 60k. Inflation costs pushed that up to 80k. And there's no way in heck I would pay a 20K mark up for a foundation series on top of that. If you do not need a vehicle right now. Keep driving what you have, and wait for Tesla to work out all the kinks out of this new platform. Keep driving what you have, and wait for Tesla to work all the issues out of the new model FIRST. Also wait for the production ramp which will ultimately reduce the cost of the cybertruck. I'm hoping economies of scale will eventually get it back down to near its original 60k price. Once it gets back down near there. That is when I will purchase mine. In the meantime I will enjoy my Model Y while all the cybertruck issues get fixed and the cost of the vehicle comes down. 😉 One final thing. Take all the money that you have that you are going to use for the cybertruck. And put it into Tesla stock. It is going to take more than a year for them to work out all of the new platform issues and get its cost down. By that time the Tesla stock will have made you more money so you'll be able to put a bigger down payment on the vehicle when you do eventually purchase it! 👍

@@amerb313 I don't know if you live in the United States or another country. But the United States you need to hold stock at least one full year so you don't get hit with higher capital gains taxes when do you sell stock off. It's probably going to be 2 years at least. Possibly three to four before the Cyber truck has all its kinks worked out and the price drops. I don't know your money situation. If you have a well-paying job I would suggest putting a sizeable amount into the stock as long as you are willing to sit on it at least 2 years or longer. I bought Tesla stock starting at the end of 2019 and I've been buying it through 2023. I did sell off some of my stock in 2023 so I could buy a house with cash. I still have about a third of the original shares that I had purchased over that time frame. I'm now slowly buying stock again and getting the numbers back up. A very good channel on KZread that covers Tesla is called Solving The Money Problem. The presenter Steven comes across as arrogant and opinionated. HOWEVER, the man knows Tesla well as he researches the heck out of everything the company does. There are plenty of people online that claimed his channel is a bunch of bs. However I believe he knows his research topic well IMHO. I do not know if you know everything Tesla is into. But his videos cover the other aspects of what the company is doing. I definitely see the stock going up again over time. It's a very volatile stock with lots of ups and downs. But over time it's been performing well IMHO.
