Thanks for this play through, I wasn’t completely sold on the gameplay at first, but this cleared up my hesitancy! Looks preem.

Exact same experience here. This playthrough was really well done. Having a prototype is so much better than Tabletop Simulator.

Thanks for the playthrough! After learning Netrunner recently I was hoping for a bit more going on with the hacking. Maybe in an expansion? Turns moved quickly enough and I think I like the action selection system. I feel like more could be happening here, so maybe there will be some expansion there too. I’m curious about the epilogues with new rules. Definitely piqued my interest. I hope the drones get upgraded to minis since units = plastic would be a bit easier to see for tracking domination.

Looks like it has some DNA from The Godfather: Corleone’s Empire, among other things. Hopefully turns out to be a good one!

I'm bothered by the standard dice and lackluster tokens. Hopefully a stretch goal or two upgrades these to something more reflective of the premium price tag.

The dice in the video are definitely because of the preview-prototype copy. They mentioned it at the beginning that it is a prototype "work in progress" preview copy.

@@theshogunstein6475 about the same for my cruze now too. I wouldn't mind so much if this was happening with every other company but it's not. Mindclash is charging 12 to us and that's more expensive for them and you're telling me cmon (a us company) needs to charge 50? Mindclash in their estimates even said that shipping hasn't been that big a deal. It's a little more right now but nothing that would cause them to raise shipping much at all. It's just scummy tactics by cmon. That's it. I've not seen any other company doing this

@@cartergreen2309 is it possible that CMON is trying to short Kickstarter or are they charging shipping in the pledge. Basically your value proposition is $150 for the game and 20 for shipping but CMON only has to pay KS 10% on the $110. Seems shifty to me, I’m not backing it. I already have Godfather and it’s great, no need for that ‘story line’ stuff IMO.

@@patrickrochel9827 I honestly don't know. Value on the game is off too. Looks like a $70-$80 game to me. I think it's CMON just gouging their customers because they know it will make bank as always and they want to make more. I don't care about the story thing either but I like this theme better so I was hoping to get it but I'll think twice about backing CMON ever again after this

As far as those egderunners are concerned, they're taking some liberties with the source material. With the possible exceptions of Jackie Welles and T-Bug (depending on whether the board game is supposed to take place before or after the events in CP2077), none of the ones I saw in the video should really be available to hire as mercs.

Who cares. Remove the Edgerunners you don't want.

Why wouldn’t you make a cyberpunk game that’s more of a story based game similar to the likes of sleeping gods? I would find that much more interesting than the actual gameplay in this game.

My exact thought too. When I think of a cyberpunk board game, a style like this is not what I would at all consider.

Most board games with a rectangular board, orientate text and symbology vertically along the shorter sides of the board. Here, they've orientated this text, cards and tracks along the longer sides of the board. So every player has to read on a right angle, upside down or from a distance, all the boards information. And given the area control aspect of this is more conceptual, the board is far larger than it needs to be, to cater to the minis available. Poor design

Night City has a really "vertical" design in the videogame, It would have probably weird to have it horizontal in the boardgame honestly, since the videogame has it vertically.

For me it’s FFG’s Android setting, though it’s quite close. Probably could use all these minis for an Android RPG.

Feel a lot like Godfather, my group enjoyed it but this seems like it’ll be hard for them to relate to.

Wonder if this campaign will get cancelled, it's doing very poorly compared to other CMON projects.

With 481% over target achievement and almost half million dollars, with still 5 days of campaign, no, they will not cancel. They succeeded.

Game kinda misses the point from my perspective. The themes of alienation and corporate exploitation are why cyberpunk persists 40 years on. The fantasy is you playing a netrunner railing against the corporations like militech or arasaka. I dont know who wants to step into the shoes of the gangs fighting for control of the streets.

You’re describing an overarching theme of cyberpunk the genre, cyberpunk the title is an overall world with depth and. multitude of dynamics. Just because you don’t know anyone, doesn’t make your point valid. The video game itself has multiple life paths

I saw that but it doesn't explain if they were sponsored by being provided a copy or is this a paid preview? It's still not clear and they didn't mention it at all at the start or end.

@@garylangford6755 sponsored means money was exchanged. it means that every where else ive ever seen out side of someone being indie and not knowing how to use the word correctly. Gifted is different than sponsored.

This looks pretty lame. Story cards are lame. Not liking combat, just pick a card and whoever has more gun icons wins. Really, that’s it? Roll two d6’s on a net run that only goes to eight. Odds are always in favour of success. Don’t think anyone even failed a net run roll? When someone did they had a re-roll anyway. Not sure about that mechanic. Not really excited about this at all. The game looks like it was rushed.

The combat doesn't work like that, it has dual areas of consideration: who kills and who scores Street Cred. Killing enemy units doesn't mean you'll score Street Cred, on the other hand you can score Street Cred in a Firefight triggered by an opponent where you lose unit. Every Combat upgrade card is also unique (no duplicates) and they also add an effect that alter the Firefight rules. What do you mean "that's it"?

Yeah I felt the same, looks functional and decent fun, but nothing to get excited about. No chance this gets tabled over Ankh or Court of the Dead so I am passing.

Net run is just push your luck with probabilities being in favor of players, otherwise nobody would ever net run. Voodoo boys get a reroll on failed net runs. Story cards introduce alternative win (or sometimes even lose) conditions. Just like Ankh scenarios, actually way more diverse in that regard than Ankh. I thought combat was lame and often would end in ties too when I saw the starting deck each player gets. But there are about 60 combat cards, each one is unique and about half way into the game everyone has a unique deck of cards. The game does feel a little cheap in component department, there are certainly some QOL issues with inserts, but nothing that gets in the way of getting tabled. I would definitely table this more than Dwellings, Rising Sun or Scarface. Each time we played, no matter the amount of players, it was always under 2 hours with explaining rules.

Such a weird choice to license for a board game, since the video game was such a massive flop. But I'm guessing CMON signed the deal for it years ago and are now stuck doing it.

It sold 20 mln and still have huge fanbase. Millions will buy next expansion plus anime is coming to netflix that will get this ip even more new players. You are crazy if u think this is still massive flop for them. Even new steam reviews are positive now after patches. I guess u just wanted another marvel game

Flop??? Cyberpunk 2077 sold 18 million copies. Has over 350k positive reviews on Steam. Thats the second most ever for singleplayer games on Steam. Cyberpunk is HUGE.
