For those missing the joke: the outdoor footage isn't from the wedding. It's from a rendition of this song at a Welsh rugby match, where it's also commonly sung

I found it rather funny that Samantha Cameron, daughter of a baronet, found the wedding of a future king not grand enough to grace it with a hat. That said, the outside footage of the "little people" was incredibly heart-warming.

Loved the High Church edited version that we saw of this but this was hard not to love as well. Showing the celebration outside of the Abbey was brilliant.

Beth yffach sy’n cael i joio am hyn! The empire that trampled on is, incorporated us into England and forced their princes on us. There is nothing to celebrate for Welsh people about this. The word ‘Wales’ in itself is offensive. Ymlaen at y weriniaeth Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Never understood why they randomly sang the penultimate line of each stanza on one note and then jumped back to Cwm Rhondda for the last line.

Prnce William is not the Prince of Wales. That title is held by his father.

The choir wasn't too bad (nice descant on the last verse), but they had the microphones in the wrong places for the recording. And the congregation ... never seen such wimpish singing of such a rousing hymn. HM not exactly leading by example, for a start!

@@SteveRawcliffe HM is the Head of the Church of England. She is NOT the leader of the choir. I sincerely doubt you will ever see her singing "robustly" ever. As for the congregation, sadly these days few people know the words of the hymns, therefore there are few able to sing them.
