Cutting The Best Tamiya Tank Model In Half... For Diorama Purposes!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
My friends, in this video I'll cut one of the most enjoyable Tamiya kits with a hacksaw. And I'm also going to build a WW1-themed diorama around it! All in raw materials, the paint will come in the next episode!

Absolutely loving the WW1 representation, armour from that period is a beautiful canvas for weathering, especially with all those rivets. Hoping to see more WW1 stuff in the future, maybe an A7V? 🤔

The A7V has been in my stash for years, but it's the interior that's putting me off :D

maybe like a a7v cut in half on the battlefield. That way you can see the action inside an outside
@simonleach6632

@@MieseKartoffel218 That would be cool to see, but to be honest, the A7V should probably be shown on its side, apparently they had a nasty reputation for falling over!

@@NightShiftScaleModels Understandable lol, I have the same problem with the FT-17, and gluing all hatches closed seems like a waste...

@@NightShiftScaleModels Hmm, integrate the A7V into the diorama like a building aka as a cut-off corner piece with full interior and everything? Knowing your approach to scary new techniques is to tackle them head on this might be the best way to approach the interior of it ^^ I begin to think that WW1 tanks could work really well as part of the terrain of a diorama in general.
This is going to be an amazing series!
I love it that the video lasts 19:18 minutes xD
I love that you're jumping into WW1 but man the cherry on top is the fact that this videos duration is 19:17. Chef Kiss/10
VERY cool - I appreciate that you prefer doing so different projects: from WW2 to fantasy tanks, back to modern times, WW2, "drawing board" - prototypes to WW1; I love it!
Finally a WW1 diorama! Thanks Martin!
I've built almost all the 1/35 Tamiya Armour and this is definitely one of the super stars. My rough cutoff for when their design/engineering improved significantly are new tools after 35228 (M8 Greyhound) with the most memorable ones being the FAMO, JSU-152/IS-2, B1 Bis and Type 10. Currently starting the M26 (The front portion of the Dragon Wagon, not Pershing)

I'd love to build the Dragon Wagon as well, just the tractor without a trailer! :)

@@NightShiftScaleModels it appears the m26 was re-released in early 2022, i caught it because it showed up for pre-order on some sites I frequent but I havent actually seen them switch to "in stock". I randomly came across the M26 kit at a store and it doesnt appear to be from a preowned collection and I have no clue where they got it, sorry. Best of luck finding one - i stared at ebay listings for years and never pulled the trigger. If you do get it, I highly recommend getting resin after market wheels at a minimum.

@@NightShiftScaleModels You could always do the 2000 release, which was just the recovery version. Those go for a fair bit cheaper on the market and if you're just doing the prime mover anyway... I certainly would love to see you take on something that isn't a tank, and a tank transporter would certainly be an appropriate addition to an armor modelers collection
@ryo86ok

@@Danfunnyman1234 yup thats the M26 (kit 35244)
I would like to compliment the fact that this video displays as 19:18 long, but shows 19:17 when played, very fitting for a WW1 diorama.
Cool project Martin. WW1 just doesn't get the love it deserves especially in scale modelling. I'm excited to see this is your next project and it'll be very interesting to see how it comes together.

I can't watch the videos on Fridays because of work and in the evening I go play music with mah friends! So, I watch them like Saturday morning cartoons with a coffee when I get up the next day. BTW, the thumbnail made me think about a tank in desert camo stuck in a winterscape!!
With out doubt the best modelling channel on the tube . Love the humer , skill ,coupled with the great filming. Thanks Martin .
How much do we love Night Shift? YES!
Fellow hobbyist i think this is the only video that you sound jolly the most. And that's a good thing because it's balanced the heat ache you gave me when you butchered that poor tank! Amazing job as always i can't wait to see if finished and thank you so much for sharing your techniques. It's a big assistance for my journey to the hobby. Greetings from Greece!
Looks like a great project, and a very interesting composition. I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.
So excited to see more of this! I love WW1 scenery and this looks awesome
What a great diorama and what a lovely idea to do a destroyed tank, perfect in a WW1 setting which I guess is going to show off your considerable weathering techniques to the max. Loving it!❤
AHHHHHHH! I have five British tank kits. Can't stop. Nice to see this treatment.
Best Tamiya model .....maybe, but have you built their Char B1 bis? That thing is perfection :)

I used to be a HUGE Tamiya fan and builder back in the 60s & 70s...never saw them...or any company.. make armor that predated WW II..all I can say is WOW!!! Back in my day building battle damage was a huge challenge but with afyrrnarketbkits from Verlinden and Eduard the task became easier as time progressed..good stuff my friend!!!
Every time I see a dirty model of a military vehicle, I remember washing our FLA in the wash pit at Bragg. It was always fun using the water cannons to clean the sides of the vehicle.
It's looking very promising! I'm looking forward to the rest of this build. Take care, Mah Friend!
That looked great. I don't often watch builds of WW. When I saw that it was by you. I knew I had to watch. So glad I did. Really looking forward to the next part
AWESOME Martin! Your first WW1 tank looks great! The weathering and "beating up" of the vehicle is so eye-catching. I look forward to this diorama. And you have inspired me to buy one these new Tamiya releases with the infantry figures included.
Boy Martin, it's already just fabulous!
As always an amazing take and incredible diorama in its early stages! Can’t wait to see your ‘art work’ on this beautiful wee beastie!🤗
Hell yeah! I've always loved the look and design of this tank. Such a historic design.
Yes yes a new diorama in the making….can’t wait for next one in this serie
I haven't even got past pre-roll ads and I already know this is gonna be f*ckin epic!
Great looking dio, love the layout! 👍 Can't wait to see this finished!
Hey Martin, I just want to say thank you! No problem in releasing videos with "delays", your mental and physical health is much more important :) And also a thank you, since I take a lot of inspiration from your videos and positive attitude!

I love your channel! I just discovered it and am hooked! I have learned so many new techniques for painting and weathering. I am so impressed by the quality and detail level of your models and dioramas. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent and experience with us!
Great to have you back! I was missing my Night Shift fix from last week.
Love it! First time I've seen an armor model cut in half for a diorama. That was fun! 😁

Very very excited for this one! Great work Uncle Nightshift!
Watching you take a hacksaw to that wonderful model was strangely satisfying. Can't wait to see what kind of insanity you come up with next.
The best armor modeling channel!
Excellent work and explanation of this interesting project
Very inspirational, as usual. Thank you for all the great work!

Awesome, I'm already looking forward to next week when it continues

Nice change of subject for you uncle. I can almost feel the mud coming!
Thats brilliant and mad at the same time
Amazing video! Looking forward to the next one!
Great diorama, great skills, camera angles and macro work along with good English narration. Understanding that English is not your first language you speak it very well.
I did not know Tamiya made this particular model - now I must have one. To the internet, away!
Nice work! I built this kit myself about a year ago, but I couldn't resist using the motor. It chugs along very nicely!
Beautiful treatment, I appreciate your bravery in desecrating the tank in service of a realistic diorama :)
Excellent build, love the pipe wrapping. I made a destroyed Mk4 with scratch built interior so really appreciate the detail put into this diorama, love the pipe wrap detail, wished I’d added that to mine now. On cutting the kit in half, really good. I can’t but help think it would have been easier just cutting and sitting the whole kit into the polystyrene. End of the day we all have our own approach to these things. Excellent build and look forward to seeing more.
cant wait till its done, it looks so great already!
You are a real artist . Thank you . Stay save .
Love watching your videos as you have taught me a lot and I enjoy watching you take a bunch of nothing and turn it into such amazing creations!!!
This is a great idea for a diorama! I cant wait to watch it come to life.
This is gonna be awesome to watch and I look forward to the next video. Love your work!
That diorama is going to be great. Lots of good ideas a techniques shown

Inspirational! Cracking job.
I can also attest to the magic of superglue... and friendship /) Looks awesome so far! Can't wait to see how it progresses
Yes!!! This is going to be great! I can not wait for the glorious mud splatters. These weathering videos will go down in history!
I really like the thermal wrap detail on the exaust, great video!
I see what you did there with the play time.
Great start looking forward to the next video 👍👍
Wow. What an inspirational scene you are creating. Looking forward to see how this turns out.

There's a brave man who cuts a model up like that. Another great video Martin.
