@@100cents5 I mean idk what New York is like. Though my father gets work from several jewelry stores in my state as a “high skilled jeweler” he does the stuff nobody else wants to / can do. He doesn’t even break 6 figures. Besides that being salaried at a jewelry store usually doesn’t pay more than $30 dollars an hour at the top end. (Including NYC) I also have my own clients that travel the US to do shows. If this guy reached out to me to make those rings I’d probably charge between $40-$50 to do them start to finish. Laborers aren’t the ones that make the big bucks in any trade. We don’t have to buy the metals or stones. We don’t have to design and sell. We don’t have to run a business and pay for rent. So why should we get a big chunk of sales when all we do is put things together and polish them up? Considering NY if he’s being paid well he’s probably making about $40 an hour.

Money is completely worthless without labor not the other way around. money is just the object form of labor and value. without the workers, money would just be another useless item, and even capitalist realize this, thats why they constantly talk about investing, if money is left alone it loses value, and that’s because all the value comes from the workers.
