Yes, really. I don’t follow any other dog channel even tho when they are a lot of sweet ones. But the owner of Oliver treats him so extremely lovely, as you described, he take his time for try to understand all of Oliver’s actions and feelings, it’s completely beautiful. When you watch Oliver then you can see pure happiness!

@@Nele-vg7js and tbh you gotta be like that with beagles, they're really contemplative, emotional, calculating animals. They need a lot of care and teaching or they'll walk all over you, but when you get through that they're amazing breeds and it's a wonderful relationship to have!

Speaking as someone who grew up with beagles, they are the most stubborn and hard headed creature on Earth. But dammit they are the best of all dogs.

I have a sharpei mix that does this, but it's because her back itches and dogs can't scratch their backs because their legs don't reach. So I scratch her back and her back legs start going like she's scratching reflexively. Beagles are probably trying to use the bone to scratch with. Random stray pit bull came up to me at a baseball game and I scratched his back out of curiosity and he did the same thing my sharpei does, just stares up at the sky in ecstacy.

My beagle mix does something similar at bedtime in that she has to have her little piece of bone left from a larger bone on the bed. She doesn’t roll on it like Oliver but she does like to fling it around like he does; but then she likes to fling it off the bed and waits for me to pick it up for her!! Such a stinker lol!

I think habit reassures animals. I started having more of a routine and I realized my more anxious pets calmed down quite a bit; one would over-groom because of anxiety and just changing a few things to be more of a routine resulted in her finally relaxing. She likes to lead me around like “Now we go to the bathroom. Now we go to the kitchen. Annndd to the closet.” She’d do perimeter checks when she was about six months old, walk around and look for danger and sniff things and make sure things were right, then guard me a while, then do another perimeter check. 😅 Pets really do make things so much better. 😁

Back when my family had a beagle he got used to bedtime being at a certain time each night. When it was time, he’d walk to the stairs but would get upset if we didn’t follow him if we decided to or needed to stay up later. He’d run back into the room to try and get us to follow him up stairs. As he was walking up the stairs, he’d swish his tail only to the right never to the left
