If I got attached to that baby (five minutes of holding her and I'd be a goner) I'd cry my eyes out when I had to give her up! That is one adorable little precious bundle of cuddles -- how could they let her go without their hearts breaking? I'd love to hear more about her personality as she grows up. She'll be one self-confident gorilla who knows humans are her devoted slaves!

Think about it. They must train her to be a gorilla, so that she can be reintegrated to her own kind. She’ll soon a few hundred pounds. She’s not a pet.

Sadly it would be a bad idea for Koko to have a baby....I don't think she would know how to take care of the baby properly because, she hasn't really been around other gorillas. I know she has had mates but, she has never had a chance or a choice to be a REAL gorilla. Why subject a baby to a life like Koko's :( I feel sorry for Koko... You can hate me all you want but, think about it.

First thing I thought when I saw this was “man I wish KoKo was still alive” she’d always longed soooo much to be a mom & have a baby to love 💗 she would have been a wonderful surrogate mom & could have finally answered the age old question “can language skills be taught” if KoKo had a baby to raise she may have been able to teach her baby sign language 🤟. To bad no one thought of this option before she reached a ripe old age & died. Her story is legend & she was an ambassador for her kind championing for all the Gorilla’s 🦍 of the 🌎....captive or wild.

Gorilla’s always loved my daughter? My husband said he loved her long white hair! Whenever we go to the zoo/ we always go to the Gorilla’s! It never changed in any zoo they always loved my daughter! One of them got a hold of some string & they would run it through their teeth & show off! We all loved it! They are so majestic & Beautiful!

For anyone wondering Gladys was adopted by an experienced mother gorilla and is a big girl now who hangs out with her troop!

oh I just looked up why they can't speak even tho their IQ s are 100 which is average for humans! and their DNA is 99.9 the same as ours! its BC their vocal chords are higher up than ours so they can't control it like we can! thus we can only teach them sign language like our Darling koKo! but I'm sure they'd be happy with that! better than no Communication. imagine two gorillas who know sign language communicating with each other? I'd die to see that! why can't Kokos teacher teach a gorilla to speak to Koko like that? we'd all be so happy especially Koko! that would be a first! scientists wouldn't believe it! all in favor click like!
